Vibrant Floral Card

| 2 min read

Spring is here and I’m so looking forward to seeing brand new blooms emerge. The gerbera is one of my favourite flowers so I’m loving the ‘Create Happiness’ stamp and die sets from Visible Image which I am using for today's inspiration.

TUTORIAL

To make the flowers pop, I chose to create a grey mottled background for the card using ‘Lost Shadow’ distress spray stain and distress oxide ink, as well as ‘Hickory Smoke’ distress ink. The inky background was then splattered with water before drying with a heat gun.

step 1

I then used Versafine Clair ‘Morning Mist’ grey ink (2nd generation) to stamp the text on the background before the card was edged in ‘Hickory Smoke’ distress ink.

step 2

Up next, on a new piece of card, I stamped 3 of the main gerbera images from the same set in the same grey ink and heat embossed them with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. These were then die cut out and coloured in using Zig color brush pens. A hint of sparkle was added using a wink of stella pen.

step 5

On another piece of white card I stamped the sentiment using the same grey ink and heat embossed using the same gloss embossing powder. The sentiment was then mounted onto a small piece of bright pink card.

Finally, the background was mounted onto bright pink card and a white card blank. All the elements were added using 3D mounts and a few glittery gems were added for further interest.
