Special people deserve a special birthday card! For my Design Team make this week I’ve made a little bouquet card using the fabulous new ‘Birthday in Bloom’ stamp set and co-ordinating dies. I’ve also teamed them up with the fabulous 'Heart Ink Stencil'.

TUTORIAL

For the background, I sprayed a piece of white card with ‘Spun Sugar’ and ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ distress spray stain. I then splattered some water droplets across the inky surface of the card.

Once dry, the ‘Heart Ink’ stencil was placed over the top and some ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ distress ink was blended through it. This will help to give a lovely shape to the bouquet design I have in mind.

I then stamped the gerbera around the edges of the card using Hero Arts ‘Unicorn’ white pigment ink and ‘Picked Raspberry’ distress ink.

3 of the gerberas were then stamped and embossed onto the card to help the placement of the bouquet. The stems were coloured in with a green colouring pencil.

On a separate piece of card I stamped the elements from the ‘Birthday in Bloom’ set using Versafine Clair ‘Morning Mist’ grey ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. The flower-heads were coloured in using ‘Saltwater Taffy’, ‘Squeezed Lemonade’ and ‘Picked Raspberry’ distress ink.

The vase was also coloured in and fussy cut out. The flower heads were then die cut out using the matching set. Next up, the sentiment was stamped and cut out, edged with ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ distress ink, and then mounted onto a small piece of black card.

Finally, the background was mounted onto black card and a white card blank. All the elements were then added using 3D glue before some Ranger Glossy Accents, wink of stella pen, a little ribbon and water droplet gems were added for interest and dimension.

A lovely and feminine card – perfect for mums, sisters and dear friends with Spring birthdays - I hope you agree.
