Good afternoon, I am excited to share my new Visible Image inspiration today! I like to create multiple backgrounds on my gelli plate to use for future projects. The background for today's card was made with the 'Daisy Daisy' stencil to make a fabulous backdrop for the stunning hummingbird stamp from the 'Life is Beautiful' set.

TUTORIAL

I began by adding distress inks/oxides directly to my gelli plate and brayering to blend the ink. I then laid the DAISY DAISY stencil over the inked gelli plate and added a piece of square cut white card over the top.

I smoothed over the card using my fingers and on removing the card I was left with a vibrant print.

I carefully removed the stencil from the gelli plate and used another two pieces of card to pull prints from the gelli plate. I had plenty of ink left on my stencil so I lightly misted with water and pressed the stencil onto another piece of white card, I repeated the process so I eventually had five backgrounds to choose from.

After choosing my background I sponged Versamark through the centre of the stencil only before heat embossing using vanilla white powder. I also stamped background elements from LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL stamp set again in Versamark and embossed in vanilla white. I stamped the same element a couple of times using saltwater taffy distress ink.

Next I stamped the main hummingbird image from the set in a mix of pink/purple Versafine Clair. I repeated this stamping of the main image on a piece of white card and clear heat embossed it before fussy cutting, leaving a white border. I coloured parts of the humming bird using the same inks/oxides that I used on the gelli plate. I decided the background needed a little something extra so I 2nd generation stamped the word beautiful a few times and added a few white paint spatters.

The sentiment from BETTER DAYS AHEAD was stamped in Monarch Versafine Clair and clear embossed before being cut out, I layered this on black card to make it stand out more.

The whole background was then mat & layered several times using black and white onto a 7x7 inch card blank. The sentiment and hummingbird were added using foam pads and silicon glue. Finishing touches were wink of stella on the hummingbird making it lovely and shimmery and quite a few tiny sparkly gems both on the bird and the background.

All in all I adore the way this card has turned out, I hope the recipient loves it as much as I do!
