Time is Precious – Visible Image Stamps

Good Afternoon! Thank you for stopping by today 🙂

Pauline Butcher has been creating with one of the awesome sets we released earlier this year! Over to Pauline…

Hello,

Gosh where has this week flown to, I think my craft room eats time, lol !!!!

Talking about Time, my creation for today, is a fab set of stamps from Visible Image, called Time is Precious.

I am still feeling the vibe from the Visible Image Blog Hop last Friday, it was in aid of Breast Cancer Care, so I am carry on the theme, and using a bit of pink !

2015-10-23 Visible Image stamps - Time is Precious - Melting Clock stamp - Pauline Butcher

My background is a piece of glossy card, with the Shaving foam and Alcohol Inks technique, then added some texture using wax, and Mica flakes.

I stamped the pocket watch with Stazon, onto Acetate, and then stamped again  (2nd generation), so it was very faint, then fussy cut both, I then used a gold Sharpie pen on the wrong side of the acetate.

I stamped the clock again, onto white card, and heat embossed using a Gold Sparkle powder, fussy cut, also cutting out the face of the clock. I stamped the clock one last time, using Stazon, onto white card, cut the face out and attached it to the gold clock, then added Glossy Accents for the glass.

To finish, I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed.

Time is Precious – Visible Image stamps

Hello 🙂 Happy Good Friday to you! No day off here sadly, as we are in ‘show prep’ mode with just 1 week left before we set off for The Big Stamp and Scrapbooking Show at Alexandra Palace… One of our favourite shows 🙂

Yesterday was so busy I didn’t get a chance to share Teresa’s Terrific Thursday inspiration with you, so sorry about that! So today we will have 2 amazing posts for you!

Here’s Teresa…

It’s time for another dose of thrilling Thursday inspiration from me for the Visible Image team, and I’ve been mixing my media once again to create a richly textured canvas.

Visible Image stamps - Time Is Precious - Melting clock - Teresa Morgan

I used some Coarse Texture modelling paste through a spider web mask to create the background texture on a blank canvas. (I left the area where the chipboard ‘shrine’ was going to be blank, so that I would be able to glue it into place more easily). I love the little grains in this, it allows you to create extra depth as it is quite stiff, and makes a change from the smooth finish that ordinary modelling/texture pastes produce. Once that was dry I glued the ‘shrine’ in place and coated it all with black gesso, making sure to get into all the little cracks and crevices.

Thankfully gesso dries quite quickly so I was soon able to get to work with my Inca Gold gilding waxes – I used green, blue and purple colours, applying them with my fingers. They really pick up the detail on the texture paste. I used gold gilding wax on the shrine area. I used Glossy Accents to attach some little glass ‘bubbles’ randomly on the web design, just to catch the light and add some extra shine.

Then I got to work with my stamps. I randomly stamped the cogs onto the shrine and added gold embossing powder. Then stamped and embossed the sentiment across the bottom. I stamped and embossed the clock and wings onto black card, embossed then carefully cut them out before mounting on 3d foam.

Visible Image stamps – Time Melts Away

Good Afternoon 🙂

Hope you had a great weekend! We have been busy busy working all weekend once again, the bonus is that it doesn’t feel like Monday today!!! Hehe!

As always on a Monday, Kim Bacon is here with some awesome inspiration 🙂 Over to Kim…

Hello again!
It’s been a changeable week weather wise here in Wales but spring is definitely here! The snowdrops are out, daffs are opening and the sun has been shining more and more.

This week I want to show you a project I did using the lovely melty clock from the new range of stamps by Visible Image.

The clock itself is a fantastic stamp but the sentiment that comes with it is perfect for all sorts of occasions.

Visible Image stamps - Melting Clock - Time is Precious - Dali inspired - Kim Bacon

I started the piece with a Brusho coloured background in green, turquoise and purple. When this was dry I brushed lightly over the whole piece with some Gesso keeping the brush as dry as possible and barely touching the paper. It lightens the colour and gives a worn look, a bit like faded denim. It also gives a great key to the embossing powder!

Once the Gesso was dry I took the polka dot stamp and dipped it in some liquid Brusho, spritzed the stamp with more water and stamped it onto the background. I left it in place so that the paint drained onto the page.

I then stamped the clock directly onto the background and embossed it with black powder. I stamped the sentiment onto a separate piece of card.

The piece of card was torn to size and then layered up on more torn card in similar colours.

Time is Precious – Visible Image stamps

Hi there! Welcome to our blog 🙂 Today we have more NEW stamps inspiration for you.

Over to Teresa Morgan…

It’s my turn to inspire all you Visible Image fans out there, and today I am using one of the fabulous new INKognito 2 stamps – Time Is Precious.

I wanted to create something a little different this week, so have chosen a mixed media canvas. (I have used this technique before, if you would like to see some step by step photographs for creating this type of piece then please click here.)

Visible Image stamps - Time is Precious - Mixed Media - Teresa Morgan

I coloured some Stampbord with Distress Inks them stamped the clock and words with black Staz-On ink. Using a scraper tool, I added the white highlights (my favourite part of using Stampbord).

I took a 7×5 inch canvas board and arranged a selection of textured objects (metal charms, buttons, wooden shapes, lace, etc) on it, leaving space for my Stampbord to be added later. I glued everything in place with Pinflair glue gel and let it dry. Then I covered everything with a generous coating of black acrylic paint.

Once that was dry I took some Viva gilding wax in red, blue, purple and gold, and added highlights to the piece. Then finally I glued the Stampbord in place and allowed it to dry.

I hope that you are inspired to try something different with your stamps, they are not just for cardmaking, but ideal for all types of creative projects. Thanks for stopping by!!

Time is Im-material @ Visible Image stamps

Hello! Hope you had a great weekend. What’s the weather like where you are? It’s been crazy here this morning… Hail and thunder storms and it’s so cold!

We are still crazy busy here, working around the clock making and packing orders! If you ordered some of our NEW stamps.. thank you! They are now released, and will be dropping through your letterbox any day now 🙂

Today Kim Bacon is sharing a fabulous project using our Time is Precious set…

Hello all you lovely people! Thanks for dropping in. Well, another Monday is upon us. But don’t be down and gloomy.
Spring is springing, the birds are tweeting and I have got a Visible Image project to inspire you to get crafty!

Visible Image stamps - Time is Precious - Kim Bacon - 1

The new stamps launched recently are all fantastic but this melting clock and the sentiment that goes with it are just wonderful. So, after I bit of ‘getting to know you’ and a play with the stamps I decided to branch out and make something a little different.

This note book started out as a piece of good quality watercolour card which I had coloured both sides with Brusho paint and left to dry. I scrunched and soaked and scrunched some more and soaked some more with just water and got my hands all inky! It broke the fibres and made the card almost like cloth. I really like the way the edges become fluffy and I love the way the colour from one side bled over onto the other side.

Visible Image stamps - Time is Precious - Kim Bacon - 2

Now the resulting fabric like quality the paper now had got me thinking. I could stamp onto cloth and then sew things onto this base card. It just snowballed! I used Brusho to colour the calico scrap to match and stamped onto the fabric with Stazon. I have no idea what ink is best for fabric but this worked for me! I used my sewing machine to attach the calico to the cover.

I made a small pad of paper which I sewed directly down the spine of the cover. I used eyelets and a piece of faux leather threaded with some wooden beads as the closure.

I was really pleased with the end result and I have plans to make more!
