Sparkle in the Rain

Hello!! Thanks for visiting our blog today.

Pauline Butcher is here to add a little sparkle to your day…

Hi there

It’s my day to share something I’ve created, using some awesome Visible Image Stamps. This card is one that I taught in one of my recent Workshops, using the fantastic Sparkle in the Rain stamp set.

I used watercolour card for this project, stamping the fabulous ‘Rain Lady’ (as I fondly call her) using a Wow Embossing Pad, and then heat embossing with Ebony embossing powder. Next I spritzed some coloured Prima Bloom sprays onto the card, and  sprinkled some Brusho’s onto the wet card, also spritzing with a little water to spread the colour about, I left this to dry naturally.

When it was dry, there is a subtle sheen to the card, from the mica powder in the Bloom sprays. Masking off ‘Rain Lady’, I used the Rain stamp, with the embossing pad,  and heat embossed using a clear powder, this gave me a slightly wet rain look, over this I stamped again with the embossing pad, but this time I heat embossed with ‘White puff Twinkle’ powder. I also used ‘white Puff Twinkle’ for the sentiment and the ‘puddles’. I finished off with some Stardust Stickles.

Sparkle in the Rain

Hello! Thank you for coming to visit our blog.

Corrie Herriman has a fabulous project to share with you today…

Hello everyone,

Today I am sharing an art journal spread which I made for Visible Image.

I made this on two separate pages that I later glued in my journal. Sometimes it is better to work out of the book especially when you are heat embossing. I have had paint on previous pages bubble up when I put the heat gun on the page I was doing. So by using loose paper you don’t run this risk.

The colour of these pages was put on by brayering 4 colours of PaperArtsy Fresco Chalk paints. I used two shades of green; a light and a dark, a turquoise and a plum colour.  Just start with the lightest and build up the colour. Make sure to have some white page left after every colour to fill with the next. You also could use white to reintroduce white space. After the paint dried, which takes no time at all I stamped the background with similar colours of ink. I added some holographic embossing powder over the plum ‘sparkles’, and sparkle they do !

I also stamped the word ‘sparkle’ and embossed it with white fine embossing powder by WOW.

I changed the sentiment by stamping bits of it, straight on the page and adding some doodling around the words.

The girl with the brolly was stamped straight on the page and on a separate piece of paper, cut out and adhered on top. I coloured some paper in the same colours as I used for stamping the background and used a hole puncher to get some polkadots for the brolly. I glued these on and added some white doodling on the umbrella. A few doodle lines around the pages finished it off.

I heat embossed the ‘sparkles’ with holographic embossing powder over the plum coloured ink. You can see the sparkle here…

and some more here, so pretty !

The sentiment.

And the finished pages again.

Rain is confetti from the sky – Visible Image

Thanks for coming to visit us here on the Visible Image blog today!

Elina Strömberg is here with a fabulous journal page…

The snowy white scenery is starting to change again; temperature is rising and snowfall is shifting to wet rain. Instead of complaining about the changing weather I decided to take a positive perspective and created a happy art journal page:

First I painted the background with blue acrylic paints, then ‘white-washed’ the entire page with applying a thin layer of white paint with a baby wipe. I continued with stamping vertical lines on the background with white paint, using the rain background stamp from Visible Image ‘Sparkle In The Rain’ set. The same stamp (together with the puddles stamp from the same set) was used also for finishing the page; I stamped over the acrylic paint using grey StazOn ink.

The lovely girl image was stamped twice on blue cardstock and heat embossed using black and red embossing powders.

Even though the page is quite flat there are many layers of paint and stamping. The textures on the background are texture paste applied through a stencil. For both blending the white texture paste into the background but also for highlighting the fun textures I dry-brushed the background with a hint of blue acrylic paint.

The lovely quote I picked up from Pinterest, wrote on white cardstock, cut out, and glued on the page. Done!

I came across another quote by Louise Hay: “There’s no such thing as good weather, or bad weather. There’s just weather and your attitude towards it.” I think the girl on my art journal page could not agree more!

Still sparkling despite the rain – Visible Image

Hello! Thanks for visiting our blog today!

We have lots of inspiration to share with you today… catching up with all the fabulous cards and projects our amazing team have been creating.

Here’s Pauline who loves a bit of sparkle…

I hope you are all well, and as there has been rather a lot of rain lately, I thought that my ‘Visible Image Stamps’ inspiration this week, should emulate the weather, lol, so I used their awesome Sparkle in the Rain’ stamp set.

I started off with a piece of A4 white card, and gave it a spray with a Purple and a Lemon ‘Starbust’ spray ink, from Lindy’s Stamp Gang, super vibrant colours which are full of lovely mica, making a fabulous glimmer. I then cut my card, to fit a 6″ card blank. I used the rain stamp and the puddle stamp with some versamark, and heat embossed with some ‘Sparkling Snow’ powder, by Wow.
On some heat resistant acetate, using Versamark, some Black Wow Embossing powder, and the Lady Stamp, I heat embossed, and fussy cut it, adding yellow Stickles to her Umbrella and her boots.

On some more white card, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment, fussy cut it, then coloured it with some Distress Inks.
Still a couple of weeks to enter the ‘Show & tell’, for a chance to win a £25 voucher, to spend on luscious new Visible Image goodies.
Take a peek in the Visible Image Group too, there is daily inspiration from the DT, and members too……HERE.

Rainy Day Sparkle – Visible Image

Hi there! We are sharing some more awesome inspiration by Elina today.

As we head into winter we expect lots of rainy days! So keep this sentiment in mind…

The backgrounds of these cards were first inked with Distress inks and the patterns were added with plain water: On the larger card I let water just drip down creating light vertical lines. Once dry I added more water on the bottom of the card, and splashed some drops on the upper part of the background.

On the smaller ATC card I first inked the background, and placed a stencil with vertical dot lines on the cardstock. I misted the stencil with water, pressed dry with a paper towel, and removed the stencil. Creating fun patterns on your project background could not be easier!

Cardmaking: Stamped ATC card with inked background

On the larger card I stamped and fussy cut the quote text, but for an ATC sized card the text was too big. I used the same lovely quote, but wrote it with tiny rub-on letters. I have bought the letter set from craft flea market and I love it! The set is years old, but the rub-ons still work well. Originally the set was needed for correcting machine writer typing errors- a little piece of history, isn’t it!

On the ATC card I stamped the image with Archival ink. For the larger card I used black embossing powder that had a hint of sparkle in it.

The ‘Sparkle’ word on the larger card was heat embossed twice; first using black powder and then a second time with a hint of glitter powder.

The stamps are from Visible Image: ‘Sparkle In The Rain’ and ‘Smile Sparkle Shine’. Love them!

Despite any the rainy weather I wish you a sparkling day!

Colourful Rain – Visible Image Stamps

Thank you for coming to visit our blog today 🙂

We are catching up with all the latest Design Team inspiration from the last few days, kicking off with Corrie Herriman…

Hello everyone,

I can’t get enough of this Visible Image  ‘Sparkle in the rain’ stamp set.  Isn’t it gorgeous…. So you probably haven’t seen the last of it…

Visible Image stamps - Sparkle In The Rain - Corrie Herriman

For this card the background was made with Distress Inks and a blending tool on a piece of white card stock which was cut slightly smaller than the card. I stamped the background with a swirl and water and a script stamp with grey archival ink. Next I stamped the girl under the umbrella and splattered some white ink.  I coloured some book text with the same distress inks and punched circles from it. I adhered these circles randomly on the card panel and then stamped part of the sentiment. I then doodled around the edge of the panel. Lastly I adhered the panel to the card.
