Beautiful Rose Stamp | CAS Card

Hi! Sharon is here on the blog today with a really beautiful CAS card featuring the rose stamp from our FLOWER ART set with our RIPPLES stencil…

Hello there. Today I have a quick CAS [clean and simple] card for you using some Visible Image stamps and a stencil. I really hoped I’d have time to make a few more cards using the other two flowers in the stamp set… but as usual, time ran away from me.

Beautiful Rose Stamp | CAS Card

Here’s how I made this one:

First swipe some ink onto a glass mat and spritz with a tiny bit of water. Press some acetate into the ink and then place the acetate onto a piece of card to transfer the ink, making sure to leave a large area of gorgeous white space for the sentiment. Dry the ink and then add some more ink to the card using the same technique to add droplets.

Now blend the same colour ink through a stencil over the top of the ink added in the previous step.

Wait for the distress inks to completely dry, then stamp the flower onto the card panel and heat emboss it.

Heat emboss the sentiment too.

Heat emboss the flower once again onto a piece of water colour card.

Take some pens, or water colour paints, and colour the rose and the leaf on the watercolour card, then cut them out.

Layer the panel onto the card blank, then layer the rose and leaf onto the panel. Add a few nuvo drops in white for some texture, and your card is good to go!

Rose Stamp CAS Card

Butterfly Stamp + Ripples Stencil Card

Hello! We have Stempelfrida on the blog today with a beautiful layered card featuring the big butterfly stamp from our BUTTERFLY EFFECT set, with our gorgeous RIPPLES stencil…

In one of my last posts I had described to you that things often go differently when crafting than you might have imagined. I had made a background, but then it did not fit at all to the flowers I wanted to arrange on the card. I used this background from the former project as one of the starting points for this card. I really wanted to showcase this amazing butterfly. It’s honestly huge, but looks smaller here since the card is so big overall.

Butterfly Stamp | Ripples Stencil | Handmade Card

So, where do I start? Let’s first take the wonderful butterfly. I stamped it with Versamark and embossed it with an embossing powder that contains small golden flakes in addition to the turquoise base colour. This adds a great vintage touch and shimmers wonderfully. I wanted to have a delicate butterfly, so I chose the contrast not too big and did not colour the white paper much further. I only traced the edges even towards the inside with a dark turquoise shade of a polychromos pen. Although the butterfly is actually the main element of the card, it was supposed to not be too dominant, but be played around in the overall collage.

As described earlier, I then took the background from my previous project. This is how I made it: I had attached the Ripples stencil over a white cardstock, coated it with a shimmery texture paste, sprayed it with Distress Oxide sprays, took an impression, and carefully removed the stencil. Since it was an expanding mousse, I still heated it up a lot.

The result is the wonderful metallic shimmering raised rings. In addition, I then had the print, part of which I used for the left part of my collage.

On the background I stamped the collage stamp from the ‘Butterfly Effect’ set here and there with a turquoise tone Distress Oxides. At the edges I have attached colour matching eyelets. Around the white cardboard I wrapped the strings and then set the print over it with spacer pads.

For the birthday greeting, I made a marbled paper by applying ink to the white cardstock with the Distress Oxides stamp pad and then spraying it with water. This I dabbed with a cloth and then dried well before stamping the greeting. I tore off the upper part and added a dark brown paper behind it.

The frame I also had left over from another project. I have also applied color directly with the stamp pad, stamped the sentiment on it, and knotted two bows with a wide ribbon to it.

Stamp pads: Versamark; Distress Oxides – ground espresso, salvaged patina
Embossing powder: Ranger mint chip speckle
Polychromos 156
