Punk Rocker Card | Stamp + Stencil

Hello! Jane is here to inspire you with a brilliant ‘punk rocker card’ created with our new REFUSE NORMAL stamp set and RIPPED FISHNET stencil…

Yes you read the title of my post correctly! Today I am showcasing another of the fab brand new Visible Image stamp sets.  I used the fun and very unique set called Refuse Normal!

As soon as I saw this set I thought of a punk rocker and a rocker card came to mind, so that is exactly what I made!

punk stamp | rocker card | handmade | ripped fishnet stencil

Here is how I did so;

I die cut 2 circles from black card. One 4″ and one 6″.

Using the Ripped Fishnet stencil and kitsch flamingo oxide I added some stencilling to the “Rocker” part of the card  (This stencil works so well with this set). I then folded it in half to make the rocker.

I then made the front.

I stamped the punk, cut her out and coloured her with Zig watercolour pens

I also stamped and coloured some extra hair so that I could layer it up. I snipped into the top of the hair so that it could look more layered when put together.

I used one of the sentiments in the set and then put everything together.

Here is my finished Punk rocker!

You can see that I added a little bit of chain too.

This really was great fun to make and although I was never a  punk (I was a heavy rock chick…LOL) I always remember a work colleague’s daughter was a punk. People would cross the road when they saw her in full punk mode…but she was the sweetest girl you could meet. It really proves true the saying, “don’t judge a book by its cover”!

Punk Stamp | Sometimes Life Just Sucks

Hello and Happy Friday to you! Lynda has made this awesome card with punk stamp from our new REFUSE NORMAL stamp set with our new ‘sometimes life just sucks’ sentiment.

The new Visible Image release, as always, is absolutely fabulous and very unique. I think this stamp set, Refuse Normal, that  I am showcasing today is my favourite. The punk stamp is so much fun and reminds me of the era I grew up in. I was too young to be influenced by the punk scene myself , but my older sister most definitely wasn’t and this image really reminds me of her back then!

punk stamp | handmade card | sometime life just sucks | sentiment

I wanted to reflect the current challenging times with this card, and make something fun that could be sent to a friend as a cheer up gift. The hair on this stunning girl just screamed ‘rainbow’ at me of course! I coloured her in with Copic markers, and fussy cut before making my background.

Distress Oxides on black card look really striking through a stencil, and the Ripped Fishnet was the perfect one to use for this.  I simply laid the stencil down and spritzed lightly, lifted carefully and heat dried.  I did this twice as I knew I would need an extra strip to create my lollipop holder.

I then stamped and heat embossed the new Grunge Tones stamps over the top.  I measured my lollipop stick, and cut a strip of card a little longer, scored twice at each end to create a pop up stand and pierced holes in it, and using a craft knife I cut slits in the base card, popped each end through and adhered to the back with tape.

To add even more layering and colour I splattered acrylic ink in bright tones over the top before mat and layering it onto a card and placing my lolly licking punk on.

The ‘sometimes life just sucks’ sentiment is also from a new set, called Lost For Words.

To finish I added some bright plastic dots to compliment that rainbow hair.

Under The Sea | Mixed Media Card

Hi there! As summer is in full swing there’s no better time to create ‘under the sea’ themed cards and projects! Our NEW Ripped fishnet stamp is a perfect fit for this, and Heather Mitchell has combined it with our gorgeous jellyfish stamp and more to create an amazing mixed media scene for today’s inspiration…

Hello everyone…

Today I’m sharing a bit of a busy make using the new Ripped Fishnet stencil from the wonderful Visible Image.

under the sea | card | stamps | jellyfish | fishnet stencil

I started with a basic green and grey shaded background to which I then added the Ripped Fishnet stencil.  Over the stencil I added a mixture of Chipped Sapphire, Stormy Sky and Faded Jeans Oxide Ink.

For some reason (and I have absolutely no idea why) I decided to add these large green bubble shapes which I’m not sure about now.  I used the Mesh It Up and centre of the Daisy Daisy stencils to add some interest to them and splattered them with white Posca pen and indian ink.

The Ripped Fishnet stencil is crying out for sea themed makes and I had to do one to get it out my system so I grabbed the Dare to Swim and Art Rebel stamp sets for those gorgeous fish!  The fish were heat embossed onto a tag I hadn’t made into anything… and the jellyfish stamped and then clear embossed to seal the colours.

The jelly fish was coloured using a mixture of Derwent Intense pencils and Arteza Brush Pens before being trimmed and set aside.

I decided to add some fine-liner scribble around the bubble shapes and then added the Scripted Streets text stamp dotted around for some extra texture.  For a little bit of sparkle, I added the cute shoal of fish in WOW’s Aquamarine powder and they do look lovely and shimmery.

For the seaweed, again I’ve clear embossed over Distress Oxide inks and coloured as I did the jelly fish.  They’ve then been layered on the card using foam dots with the fish woven in and out.

The images have been layered and I’ve added some glossy accents to the circles on the jelly fish and dotted a few around as bubbles.

The sentiment, courtesy of the 2020 Vision set, has been stamped twice to create a slight shadow and I’ve given the large circle the glossy accents treatment to match the rest of  the card.

It’s a very busy card and a bit quirky but I kind of like that!  Here are the Visible Image products I’ve used for the make…

Shine | Robot Stamp | Fishnet Stencil

Hello! We are back with more awesome new stencils inspiration today! Macarena is here with fantastic mixed media tag featuring an amazing textured background for our Robot stamp using the NEW Ripped Fishnet stencil…

Hello there. Hope you’re fine and relaxed.

Here is my cosmic tag using the Ripped Fishnet stencil from the newest collection and the Robot stamp.

I passed the Nuvo Mousse through the Ripped Fishnet stencil and heated it until it bubbled (that’s how I like to build the texture).

Then covered the whole surface with black gesso and finally smeared with mousses.

This is such a great tag! Amazing texture and a perfect background for our robot stamp… thank you Macarena ♡
