Hi there! Thanks for visiting our blog today, we hope you are doing ok. Judy is here to inspire you today with an amazing card featuring our stunning phoenix stamp on a wonderful background..
Today I am super excited to share my card here created with the Visible Image PHOENIX RISING stamp set. I absolutely love the images and accompanying sentiments.
Take a peek:
I had this background piece still on my desk from an earlier project. I made it with Nuvo Shimmer Powders. I ADORE these powders. Think Brushos with an incredible amount of shine. I used Atlantis Burst and Golden Sparkler.
I stamped the Phoenix in VersaMark ink, and then embossed with WOW! Primary Ebony Embossing Powder. I did dip his tail in a hybrid mixture I made from several powders that the ashes are also embossed with. I liked the “coming from the ashes” in one ethereal look, and then bursting upward with a solid new look. The sentiment is also embossed in black. I love how it turned out!
This is spectacular! The Nuvo shimmer powders look stunning with our phoenix stamp, and the embossed flames look awesome! Thank you Judy ♡

Hello! We hope your week is going ok. It’s been a busy one here behind the scenes as we continue working on our new studio, and of course shipping all the orders placed this week. We have some wonderful inspiration for you today from Stempelfrida, featuring our Phoenix stamp with the oh so relevant HOPE sentiment on a really striking card…
I would like to send you a lot of hope for the new year. Something that you must never lose. There is always a way and so we will be happy again. You can see this hope in my card, as it rises with the phoenix and carries warming power. In mythology, the Phoenix burns and rises again from its ashes.
The trick with my card is to use a stamping platform. With that tool you can impress a stamp over and over again in the same position. This way you can achieve great effects. I stamped with Versamark each time here. I use it exclusively when I want to emboss. It is just perfect. I embossed the first layer in white. Then I left the stamp on the platform, wiped it off again and applied Versamark in the lower areas and stamped it off again. I embossed these areas with a yellow powder. I continued like this and dabbed smaller and smaller areas at the bottom with Versamark and used the colors orange and red one after the other.
For the flames under the bird I used a black embossing powder, but you can also use a colourless one. I have preferred black, because mine has a very fine grain and so the details are well visible.
I used black embossing powder for the word hope also. This way it looks as if it was left blank.
Your card design is amazing! The flames look gorgeous in black and the phoenix looks awesome!
Thank you stempelfrida ♡

Hello! We hope you are keeping safe and well. We are so excited to start sharing the amazing Design Team inspiration created with our NEW STAMPS! Up first we have Heather Mitchell with an incredible mixed media card showcasing our PHOENIX RISING STAMP SET…
Hope you’re all well and good?! I’m just going to ignore everything going on in the world right now and just concentrate on the latest release of stamps from Visible Image! There’s six in all and today I am sharing my make using the gorgeous Phoenix Rising stamp set.
I love the grungy look of this set and look forward to exploring and experimenting more with it to make something not so obvious, if you get me, something away from the fire and hot colours… I’m just not sure what yet!
This set has one main stamp, the Phoenix, and then two fabulously abstract stamps which I’ve used as flames on this make. You also get two sentiments ‘Hope’ and ‘We Rise By Lifting Others’ which couldn’t be anymore poignant at present.
The background was made using Distress Oxide Sprays (Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Ripe Persimmon and Candied Apple) and I’ve made it so the lighter colours are in the middle. I’ve just sprayed them and spritzed on water to allow them to drip a bit.
I’ve mopped up the left over spray on my mat using some watercolour card and left this to dry. I would be using this later to stamp the Phoenix on as the main focal point.
With the background now dry, I’ve used my go-to stencil from Visible Image, Strobes, and a product which is new to me; Izink Ice in Melted Butter. The Ice is a translucent gel/paint and for me it’s just perfect as you can see layers underneath the more you use it.
You can heat dry the Ice which is perfect for me as I’m super impatient the it comes to waiting for things to dry and I actually quite enjoy watching paint dry with a heat tool.
The fabulous Phoenix on the card was stamped onto that mopped up card I’d saved and stamped using Versafine Clair ink pads (Cheerful, Summertime and Tulip Red). It’s then heat embossed using WOW’s Clear Embossing Powder. I’ve repeated this 3 times in total to get a good depth on the Phoenix.
I used the same method of stamping and heat embossing (using the same colours) to create a tinted fire like layer at the bottom of the card. The great thing about using a glossy clear embossing powder is the amazing glaze it gives you!
After edging the card with black ink, I’ve added the sentiment which has been stamped on the off-cut of card I used for the Phoenix itself and also edged it in black. To really make those colours ‘POP’ I’ve matted the card onto black card stock and then onto a 7×7″ card blank.
There’s not a lot of content on my NEW YouTube channel at present, but over time will fill up nicely so if you fancy subscribing, you’d be very welcome!
That’s all from me today. Lots of inspiration using the new stamp sets over on instagram and the Visible Image Facebook group so do check those out. If you’re on Pinterest, there are LOADS of images to mooch through an again ideas and inspiration from so do take a peek!
Look after yourselves! H xx
