I See Bold Colour

Good Evening! We have a bold and fabulous journal post by Lynn Good here on the blog today…

Hi everybody, today I have an art journal page to share with you…

I began by putting down some bold colours – I find this often gives me clarity about what I want to do

I have used Dylusion paints – Lemon Zest, Postbox Red, and Tangerine Dream.

I have used the ‘Time Tunnel’ stencil and Distress Ink Chipped Sapphire to create the focal points

I used Dina Wakeley Heavy Body White paint and a brayer randomly around the pages.  With the left over white paint I applied this to the ‘Strobes’ Stencil and using a roll of paper towel, pressed it onto the page.

On a separate piece of paper I have stamped the eye from the ‘Where Dreams Take You’ stamp set and cut it out, adhering it to the art journal page using matte gel medium.  I have coloured the eye with a watercolour blue.

I have then randomly stamped around the layout using stamps that I have listed below in the products list.  I have used a white paint pen and the Dylusions paints to highlight areas.  For the final touch I have applied Whipped Spackle paste through a stencil randomly on the layout to bring it all together.

Here are some close ups:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that I have given you some inspiration to get out the bold colours and create.

Til next time – Happy Crafting!
Lynn

Reveal Your True Colours

Hi there! We hope you’re having a good Sunday.

We’re really excited to share the very first post by Josefine Fouarge…

Today I’m sharing my first project for the Visible Image design team and I’m showing you a few monoprinting techniques. Of course I’ll also finish the tags up 🙂

Visible Image is a great company. If you haven’t seen them yet, you have to check them out. It’s exactly my style and I’m in love with all the silhouette stamps and fun sentiments. It’s super easy to create stunning mixed media projects with them. So lets get started with mine 🙂

I used my Gel Press for the monoprinting techniques. For the first layer I mixed a couple of acrylic paints on my Gel Press and transferred the paint directly onto the tag. Whereas for the second layer I put a stencil between the tag and the monoprinting surface.

You can see the process in my quick video here:
