Glimmer of Light | Moth Stamp

Hello and Happy Friday! Lynda Hall is here to inspire you today with an awesome card featuring the moth stamp and inspiring sentiment from our GLIMMER OF LIGHT set, and our STROBES stencil…

It’s my Visible Image sharing day, and today I am featuring a rather dramatic card using the Glimmer of Light stamp set, along with the Strobes stencil. With the current Covid situation there are certainly some dark moments for many of us, and I think the sentiment on this is definitely one to remember. Things will get better if we all just hang on in there.

moth stamp | mixed media card

I began with a base piece of card with distress oxide spray inks in orange and yellows. I taped the Strobes stencil down, and applied a generous layer of black texture paste through it.

Before it dried, I sprinkled Sparkling sand Wow embossing powder , and a touch of Perfect Pearls mica all over it.

Then came the magic part- heating it all up!

As well as melting the embossing powder, the wet texture paste swells and bubbles, adding even more texture. Yummy!

Once totally cool I added more colour to the rays with sparkle pens…

..and darkened the edges with black soot distress ink to draw the eye to the centre.

The next step was to stamp and emboss lightbulb onto heat resistant acetate. I coloured on the back with alcohol ink. I stamped the moth on the same coloured card as the base and coloured with pens.

The bulb, moth and sentiments were all adhered with 3d gel glue for added dimension.

Stormy Days | Tree of Life Stamp

Hello! We hope you are staying safe in these testing times and in the crazy weather some of the World is experiencing at the moment. We have had terrible storms here in the UK, with flooding and damage, which seems quite cruel in these already difficult times.

Today’s inspiration by Heather Mitchell is very fitting.. a gorgeous mixed media card featuring our tree of life stamp and the sentiment from this set ‘storms may break its branches but new leaves will always grow’ (written by me Helen!). This stamp set will be featured on our Create and Craft TV shows this Saturday, more details below.

Hey everyone

Today’s card came about by accident really.  I’d made a few backgrounds using the Visible Image stencils, air dried them and then popped away and forgot where I’d put them… but hey-presto!  Clearing up the other day I found them – hurrah!

tree of life stamp | ripples stencil | mixed media card

I can’t seem to step away from the Ripples stencil!

I’ve used Distress Oxide Sprays for the colour (Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon) and once they were dry I’ve just added a few lines of Derwent Inktense pencils around the Ripple lines.

For the tree, I’ve stamped it using Versafine Clair in Rain Forest and then heat embossed it using WOW!’s Clear Embossing powder to seal it and give it shine. The petals are coloured using Arteza brush pens, which I think are my new favourite product.

For the swirling leaves, I’ve again stamped them using the Rain Forest Versafine Clair and heat embossed them with the clear powder. After colouring with the Arteza pens, I’ve trimmed them and layered a few using foam tape.

I love the font of the sentiment… really simplistic and fits the mood of the set perfectly. Here I’ve just stamped it in black and then heat embossed with the clear powder once more.

With the leaves added, I’ve smooshed some Distress Crayons around the edge before matting onto a shimmery navy blue card and adhering to a 5×5″ card blank.

I wasn’t sure about the card when I finished it… you know how sometimes they can sit staring at you?  But I was looking at it the other day, the leaves swirling around the ripple stencil and it reminded me of the way Van Gogh used to paint his thick swirls onto so many of his paintings. Not saying for a moment it’s Van Gogh worthy, but it has made me love it!

We adore this card and love the ripples stencil with these stamps, they work wonderfully together. Awesome texture! Thank you Heather ♡

Love is Love | Mixed Media Face Stamps

Good Evening, we have some more gorgeous new stamps inspiration for you today. Heather Mitchell has inked up our ‘Love is Love’ set and is here to show you what she made…

Evening all,

You can’t have not seen the new Visible Image stamps that are on pre-order now… and aren’t they beauties?!  I absolutely love this Love is Love set… bang on perfect for these volatile times in which we find ourselves.

I’ve barely been able to put this stamp set down since it arrived Friday and my head is whirring away with possibilities and ideas for it.

To begin the card, I’ve added some star washi tape strips to watercolour card and gesso’d over the top to protect the tape.  After overlaying the Square Route stencil, I’ve created an ombre effect using Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch and Salty Ocean to which I’ve then lightly spritzed water over to add texture.

After using a black permanent fine liner to draw in some scribbly lines in the stencil gaps, I’ve flicked on some black indian ink to break up the blue and add extra interest.

Having already measured where the two face stamps would lay on the card, I used the sentiment for the set, Love is Love, down the centre.

The two profile stamps are just brilliant! The words on them (trust, love, eternity, friendship, loyalty, empathy, kindness etc) are so bang on trend and perfect for all types of cards and journalling and I cannot wait to journal with this set!

I’ve heat embossed the profile stamps using WOW!’s Opaque Bright White embossing powder and then used oxide ink pads (Candied Apple, Picked raspberry, Seedless preserve, Blueprint Sketch, Cracked Pistachio and Mustard Seed) to create the rainbow effect.  Once trimmed, I’ve secured them directly to the card before matting onto black card to finish.

Once again, the new stamps are on pre-order now from the online shop and are due for release on Friday June 26th… just in time for the weekend!

A Glimmer of Light | Moth Stamp

Hello! We have Lynda Hall on the blog today with an awesome mixed media card featuring the moth stamp from our ‘Glimmer of Light’ set which also contains a very inspiring quote which is so relevant at the moment…

It is my turn to share a little Visible Image inspiration with you, and today I am focusing on the brilliant Glimmer of Light stamp set. After ten weeks of not working due to the Covid pandemic, I am finally back doing a job I love, so I am definitely feeling like the sentiment is appropriate right now!

moth stamp | mixed media card | lightbulb

I started this card by spritzing black and yellow Decoart mister sprays onto mixed media card.

Then I began creating layers using the Meshing Around and Count Me In stencils.

I then placed the light bulb stamps over the yellow patches.

The next stage was so much fun! I went to town over the top with Izink Ice, which added depth to the colours and more gorgeous texture.

I deepened the yellow around the bulbs with a sparkle pen, and then added more dimension with a clear crackle glaze over the top to create a glass effect.

While that dried completely, I stamped, embossed and fussy cut the moths and sentiment ready to adhere.

Here are some close up photos for you.

Visible Image products used:

mesh circle stencil

jumbled numbers stencil

moth stamp | glimmer of light quote | light bulb

Wow! Your background looks amazing, so much texture and it is perfect for the moth! Loving the glaze on the lightbulbs and the glow around them! Thank you ♡

Imperfection is Beauty

Good Evening! Lisa Taggart is here with some super stunning inspiration for you this evening…

Here at Visible Image I have a little something to brighten your day, I hope!

This mixed media piece combines stencilling leftovers; sparkly texture paste; stamping and frantage. What more could you want !!

Here are today’s star products:

Imperfection is Beauty

Cosmic Skies stencil

Strobes stencil

I began using a piece of card where I had blotted ink off my strobe stencil when using it for another project . I love left overs. Actually sometimes I prefer them! I thought my scrap inked card would look nice with some sparkly texture paste on top.

Next I stamped and embossed some flowers, stems and sentiment using black sparkle embossing powder. I experimented a bit adding some frantage fragments as texture and some black micro beads after the flowers were cut out. I also stamped onto inked scrap card for added interest and intensified the colour using my Spectrum Noir acohol markers.

The morale of this story is never throw away your interesting scraps! Also a little texture can breathe life into any project.

Until next time.

Lisa xx

Get The Balance Right

Good Afternoon! We have more gorgeous Zodiac inspiration for you today. Pauline Butcher has been playing with our Libra set…

Hello!

I’m back again to show you something that I’ve created using some awesome Visible Image Zodiac Stamps.

You may have spied this on our last TV show on Create & Craft, I used the ‘Libra‘ Zodiac stamp set, along with the big background stamp from the Somewhere in Time‘ set.

I created the background, using some acrylic paints, loads of colours just daubed on randomly.

On top of my background, I stamped the big background splat stamp with an embossing pad, heat embossed it using Fluorescent Green Embossing Powder. I also stamped the dates, and the constellation again using an embossing pad, but this time I used Fluorescent Blue Powder.

On a separate piece of shiny red card, I stamped and heat embossed the scales, with Black powder, and then fussy cut them. I used 3D glue gel to add them to the card.

Stamps Used:

Thank you for popping in.

Hugs, Pauline xxxxx

Amazing painty background Pauline, and loving that fluorescent green! Thank you ♡

Grungy Butterfly

Hi! Thanks for visiting our blog today! It’s been a very busy start to the week here.. packaging lots of gorgeous stencils, designing awesome new stuff for 2018 and of course packing and sending lots of orders to our wonderful customers and retailers! We’ve also been planning our October shows on Create and Craft TV… get the 27th & 28th in your diary!

Today we have some superb inspiration for you from Eileen Godwin…

Hello – I’ve been playing with Distress Oxide Inks whilst trying to create a birthday card for my friend Elaine (aka Archie).

I’ve used:
The reverse, white side, of Centura Pearl card
A Tim Holtz Stencil ‘Shatter’ along with some DecoArt Media Crackle Paste
Faded Jeans, Spiced Marmalade, Seedless Preserves and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Inks
Plus, one of my favourite stamps from Visible Image

the Butterfly from the ‘Live Life Now’ set and Black Archival ink.

I wanted a sort of abstract ‘look’! So, after the paste was dry I squished the inks onto my mat then dabbed,
painted and dribbled the inks onto my cardstock, along with a little water until I was happy with the result
before stamping the Butterfly image twice to finish.

The ‘friend’ stamp is from my stash.

Thanks for looking today.

Back soon.
Eileen xx

Phoar look at all that texture.. gorgeous! Thank you Eileen ♡

Live Like Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist – Visible Image

Hello there! Thank you for visiting our blog today.

Gez Butterworth has a fabulous mixed media card to share with you today created with our awesome Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist stamp set…

Good morning! I am delighted to be sharing a card with you today created for Visible Image

I am really enjoying creating backgrounds with the fabulous range of paints and special mediums from DecoArt teamed together with the fabulous images from Visible Image what more can you ask for !!!

First of all I created a background using Black Gesso and washi tape followed by some random stencilling. I coloured some of the Texture Sand Paste with Pyrrole Red acrylic paint.

gez-butterworth-decoart

I painted over most of the texture paste to help push it into the background.using media fluid acrylic paints.

gez-butterworth-21-nov-step-3

Once everything was dried I spritzed the background with DecoArt media Misters..

gez-butterworth-21-november-step-3

Then getting quite lost in the process.. again ! I forgot to take photographs.. I added some clear crackle glaze over the top of the texture sand paste and ink drips to see what would happen.. I LOVE the result..

I just had to show you a glorious close up !

Gorgeous textures and crackle !

My finished card..

Does it get any better !!

I stamped directly onto the background using stamps from the Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist stamp set.. masked the girl and added some ink splats and glittery swirly doodles !

Thank you for calling and leaving a comment if you get the chance.
