In Your Hands

Good Morning!

We have Becca Cruger here on the blog today with an awesome card featuring stamps we recently released…

If there ever comes a time when I can’t spend my Friday nights in my studio with my one true love (aka Distress products), I don’t want to live on this earth anymore.

This week, I had a chance to play with some of the latest stamps released by Visible Image.

When I saw the new Organics set, I knew I had to have it for my very own. When it comes to the perfect artsy stamps for mixed media backgrounds, this is it folks!

I stamped it on a white sheet of heavyweight cardstock and then I spritzed it with some Blueprint Sketch Distress Spray Stain.

To messy things up just a little bit further, I used some picket fence Distress Spray stain and flicked it onto the card using the end of the open cap.

(Pro tip. You may want to tighten your cap all the way instead of just setting it gently back in the bottle and then tapping the whole thing with your elbow and then spending the next 10 minutes cleaning up stain from your table. Don’t ask me how I know.)

I used one of the eye handprints from the In Your Hands set, embossing it in black and fussy cutting and then added two circle cutouts, with a stamped sentiment from the same set to complete my look.

Love how this turned out, and it definitely wasn’t too time intensive to make. I can see me using this design for graduation cards or when one of my friends might be going through a tough time.

Thanks for joining me today!

LOVE this card! Such a cool background for our inky handprint!
Thanks Becca ♡

Have No Fear – Visible Image stamps

Good Evening! Hope you’ve had a good Monday 🙂

We are kicking off a new week of fabulous inspiration from the team with Kim Bacon…

Another Monday has arrived!  Hopefully you all had a good weekend?

Today I am featuring a card I made using one of the totally awesome Visible Image stamps along with a piece of paper that very nearly went in the bin!

Visible Image stamps - Leave Your Fears Behind - Crow Tree stamp - Kim Bacon

You know I love making backgrounds? Well, I cover my desk with a piece of cheap paper before starting any painting and spraying so I don’t get the cutting mat dirty. I have a huge mat and am just too lazy to move it off the desk.

Anyway, as I am also a bit careful with my supplies, I keep these pieces of paper to use again and again. The resulting ‘mess’ can sometimes be very pleasant. Here, let me show you what I mean…

The card I made with a piece of this paper features the lovely flying bird and tree silhouette..

 Leave your Fears

I stamped the image using a Tim Holtz distress embossing powder hence the grainy look.

I covered a piece of card with the image because the paper is quite thin. I didn’t leave enough space for the sentiment so I stamped it onto a piece of heat resist acetate which I secured with some eyelets and beads at one side. The curve helped fit the sentiment on!

Hope you like it?

See you next week for another Marvellous Monday and in the mean time enjoy your week, get crafty and show us what you have been up to!

Happy Days!  Kim

Fantastic card from Kim.. stunning background and it just goes to show that you shouldn’t throw anything away! You will find more of Kim’s inspiring work over on her blog and on her KimzKrafts Facebook Page 🙂

We will be back tomorrow for Soozie Tuesday with Sue Joseph!

Have a great evening…  Mark is busy designing after a busy day of stamp making! No rest for the wicked hey 😉
