Miss Your Face | Handmade Tag

Hello! Jane is here on the blog today with a gorgeous handmade tag created with our INK SWIRLS stencil, the quirky rose stamp from our RANDOM ART OF KINDNESS set, and our new MISS YOUR FACE sentiments which is so perfect for the World we are living in at the moment…

Hi there, today I am showcasing some old stamps with some of the new stamps.

I used the awesome new “I miss your face” sentiment from the Lost for Words set:

sentiment stamps | card making | clear photopolymer

with the incredibly versatile new Grunge Tones set

grunge background stamps | dots | circles

plus the gorgeous quirky rose stamp from the Random Art of Kindness set

quirky flower stamps | hand drawn | grungy stem | clear | rubber

and the beautiful Ink Swirls stencil

Here’s what I got up to;

I smooshed some squeezed lemonade and fossilized amber distress inks onto my mixed media mat, added some water and created a watercolour background to my tag.

Next I blended speckled egg distress ink through the ink swirls stencil

Then I stamped using all 3 stamps from the Grunge Tones set using salty ocean ink and first and 2nd generation stamping to give a subtle background

I also stamped and embossed the sentiment  from Lost for Words and the numbers stamps from Random Art of Kindness set and carried on building up the layers.

I added some alcohol ink pearls to heat resistant acetate. I have shared this technique many times before and also demoed it at many a stamp show in 2019. I stamped and clear embossed the roses and cut them out.

I stamped the roses again on the tag and then layered everything up

using glossy accents as my adhesive

Here is my finished tag which I mounted onto black

We adore this tag! The quirky rose stamp looks fabulous embossed on the acetate against the grungy background and the white of the ink swirls. Beautiful spring colours too! Thank you Jane ♡

Colour Outside The Lines

Hello! We have Stempelfrida here on the blog today with a fabulous vibrant card to brighten the day!

‘Creative people colour outside the lines’ …this is the motto of my card today. The saying is from the set “Brighten the World” from Visible Image. I also used the “Mindful Moments” stamp set with the great meditation stamps, and as an eye catcher I used the pattern from the “Ink Swirls” stencil.

First, I stamped the meditating person on masking paper and cut it out. For this I used non-permanent adhesive labels. This tip I once got in a craft group and that works really great. I bought the labels in A4 and so you can cut quite great masks that adhere well enough to colour, but are also to be removed again without residue. Compared to other options they this is also a rather cheap one.

I stuck the mask to my square background.

Then I applied acrylic paints to my round Gelli Plate and put the stencil with the swirls over it. The I made the print on the white cardstock. You can see the result in the photo. I then left the mask still on the print and first made a border with yellow paint around the person and then outside the yellow shadow a line in pink. Then I pulled off the mask.

I also coloured my text outside the lines with acrylic paints after stamping and then trimmed it to my liking. I attached it to my print with spacer pads, drew black lines on the edges and added liquid half pearls.
