Skull and Metal

Hi there! We are back with more fantastic inspiration this evening.

Heather Mitchell loves creating amazing texture with our stencils…

Hello everyone!

I’m here to share another make I’ve created for Visible Image.  This one uses the utterly amazing Mr Bone Jangles stamp set alongside the Grungy Union Jack stencil… and here’s how I did it:

Start by making a drippy background using Distress Stains in Blueprint Sketch and Stormy Sky onto watercolour paper.  Mixed crackle paste with DecoArt’s American Acrylic Paint in Neutral Grey,  and use a palette knife alongside the ‘Grungy Union Jack’ stencil and once fully air dry, paint with DecoArt’s Antiquing Cream in Carbon Black.  Once dry, wipe away the excess using a damp cloth as this removes the excess paint and just leaves the coloured crackles.  Adding silver gilding wax gives a wonderful  metallic finish.

I wasn’t overly careful wiping away the antiquing cream as I like the extra smudgy effect it gave.

Stamp the headphones from the Music On World Off set and these along with ‘Mr Bone Jangles’ onto acetate using Stazon ink.  Carefully cut these out and attach to the card over a slither of muslin.

I love the added texture of the muslin through the acetate

Around the edges of the card, stamp the ‘Elementa’ background stamp randomly using Archival Ink’s Watering Can to add extra interest

To add to the music theme, add musical notes and the lightening flashes from the ‘Music On World Off’ set using embossing powders in Black and Metallic Platinum.

To finish, add the sentiment and add the ‘Parental Advisory…’ image from the same set as the musical notes.

You could of course adapt the card to use the Stars and Stripe stencil which would look equally awesome… and in fact I’ve already had a go at this and will share soon!

Your Future is in YOUR Hands!

Good Evening! We hope you have enjoyed seeing all the amazing inspiration we have shared here on the blog today!

Our final post today comes from Pauline Butcher…

Helllloooooo again,

I’m back with a card I’ve created using a set of the brand new stamps from  Visible Image..

The stamps I’ve used are…

I blended Oxide inks through the stencil, stamped the swirly clock using a Embossing pad, and heat embossed using Blue Embossing Powder, I also stamped the birds in black ink, and stamped the words in black and coloured them in.

The hand was stamped onto acetate, and heat embossed using Black Embossing Powder, and fussy cut, also adding some green paint to the reverse of it. The people were stamped onto white card, heat embossed using Black Embossing Powder, and fussy cut, and finally the sentiment was stamped onto white card, heat embossed again using Black powder, and fussy cut!

I attached all  the fussy cut components to the card, using some 3D gel glue.

 Thanks for popping in.
Hugs Pauline xxxx

Destination Unknown

Hello! We have some fantastic inspiration from Teresa Morgan here on the blog today…

This monchrome card is perfect for men and boys’ cards. I teamed the ‘Son definition’ with some ‘Destination Unknown’ stamps, and placed them on the Union Jack Stencil background.

Hickory Smoke and Black Soot Distress Inks look great through the stencil, creating enough colour variation to keep it interesting. The plane is stamped onto a scrap of card then cut out and glued onto the card.

I wanted a small splash of colour so embossed the word son with red embossing powder.

Grungy Union Jack Stencil

Hi there! Hope you are having a great weekend.

We have a few posts coming up on the blog today, kicking off with some fantastic cards from Corrie Herriman featuring our awesome Grungy Union Jack stencil which is now back in stock…

Hello everyone,
and welcome to my DT post for Visible Image. Today I have used the fab new stencil ‘Grungy Union Jack’ and some of the music themed stamps to made two cards.

For the first one I used the good old Distress Inks, a blending tool, water and the new stencil. Doesn’t that look fabulous ! I stamped the words Bold and Beautiful on either side and then put the singer in the middle of the two words. I used a stamping tool for this.

This one was made with Distress Oxide inks, a blending tool and water. I stamped the words and the musician on it using my stamping tool. I then matted the panel on a piece of pattern paper and on a card.

I have used the following stamps and stencil:

Be Different!

Hi there! We have more brilliant inspiration for you here on the blog today. Teresa Morgan has created some amazing samples for our Create and Craft TV shows this weekend…

This week I am sharing a card made with another of the fabulous new stencils – the Grungy Union Jack. I teamed it with the Dare To Be Different stamps…..and did just that, by colouring my flag in alternative colours.

I used Distress Oxide inks and grunged them up a bit with the addition of some spritzed water. The lips are embossed onto heat resistant acetate backed with white card.
