Love Postcard | Grungy Rose Stamp

Hello! Thanks for visiting our blog today! Jane is here with a stunning postcard today, created for our upcoming Create + Craft TV shows this week. Jane’s postcard features the gorgeous grungy rose stamp from our FOREVER LOVE set with our LOVE definition stamp…

Hi there, today I am sharing a postcard. These are fun to make and even to swap, and measure 6″ x 4″, the size of a UK standard postcard. The stamps I used are all on the shows this week.

I worked with the love sentiment from Equality, Hope and Love

and the gorgeous roses and barbed wire stamps from Forever Love

This is what I got up to

I used a piece of shaving foam marbled card I made with my granddaughter using distress reinkers and sprays. This is a really old crafting technique (I did it as a child with food colouring) and there are lots of on line instructions and videos. I cut it to 6″ x 4″

I stamped and embossed the love sentiment from  Equality, Hope and Love and then stamped the barbed wire using archival ink onto the left side. These would be my flower stalks.

and then to the right side.

I stamped several of the roses from Forever Love  (I only ended up using a few) onto red card using black ink and clear embossed them. I also cut out some of the centres of some more of the large roses to use for decoupaging.

I stamped and embossed the large rose onto the postcard using red embossing glitter

then I adhered the large rose. I decoupaged it with a couple of extra layers of petals. I added a small rose at the top of each barbed wire plant stalks. I finished off with some dewdrops of Glossy accents for extra shine, drippage (is that a word?!?) and dimension.

Here is my finished postcard

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Forever Love | Grungy Rose Stamp

Hi! We are back with another gorgeous project to inspire you today! Lynda Hall has created a stunning mixed media card with our FOREVER LOVE set which includes a gorgeous grungy rose stamp, barbed wire and complementary elements…

It’s my turn to share a little Visible Inspiration today and with January drawing to a close, my thoughts have turned to cards for Valentines Day. The recently released ‘Forever Love’ set is perfect for such an occasion.

I began with a gelli print that I had previously created with the ‘Meshing Around’ stencil. A great start for some lovely texture.

I defined the circular edge to the stencil with a light application of Distress ink to add another layer.

I added some stamping with the script stamp from the ‘Scripted Streets’ stamp set, than stamped and embossed the large rose and border stamps with my stamping platform, which enabled me to line them up perfectly, then added the sentiment.

I stamped and coloured the large and small roses and fussy cut out.

Using 3d glue gel I layered them up, and added highlights with a white pen.

To finish I coloured the skulls in white, and added some black and white splatters of watered down acrylic paint.

There is currently a Hope and Colour challenge running over on the Visible Image Facebook group, with a chance to win a coupons to spend on the website so why not pop across and play along. It’s always so lovely to see what people create with Visible Image stamps and stencils!

Wowee this is amazing Lynda! We love the gorgeous pink and purple tones, and the layered roses look fabulous against your wonderful background!
Thank you Lynda ♡
