Miss Your Face | Handmade Tag

Hello! Jane is here on the blog today with a gorgeous handmade tag created with our INK SWIRLS stencil, the quirky rose stamp from our RANDOM ART OF KINDNESS set, and our new MISS YOUR FACE sentiments which is so perfect for the World we are living in at the moment…

Hi there, today I am showcasing some old stamps with some of the new stamps.

I used the awesome new “I miss your face” sentiment from the Lost for Words set:

sentiment stamps | card making | clear photopolymer

with the incredibly versatile new Grunge Tones set

grunge background stamps | dots | circles

plus the gorgeous quirky rose stamp from the Random Art of Kindness set

quirky flower stamps | hand drawn | grungy stem | clear | rubber

and the beautiful Ink Swirls stencil

ink swirls stencil

Here’s what I got up to;

I smooshed some squeezed lemonade and fossilized amber distress inks onto my mixed media mat, added some water and created a watercolour background to my tag.

Next I blended speckled egg distress ink through the ink swirls stencil

Then I stamped using all 3 stamps from the Grunge Tones set using salty ocean ink and first and 2nd generation stamping to give a subtle background

I also stamped and embossed the sentiment  from Lost for Words and the numbers stamps from Random Art of Kindness set and carried on building up the layers.

I added some alcohol ink pearls to heat resistant acetate. I have shared this technique many times before and also demoed it at many a stamp show in 2019. I stamped and clear embossed the roses and cut them out.

I stamped the roses again on the tag and then layered everything up

using glossy accents as my adhesive

Here is my finished tag which I mounted onto black

We adore this tag! The quirky rose stamp looks fabulous embossed on the acetate against the grungy background and the white of the ink swirls. Beautiful spring colours too! Thank you Jane ♡

Oh, I tell you, it is sooooo sooooo sad that these stamped shirts are not real shirts. On the other hand: My closet would burst at the seams.

T-shirt stamp | handmade card | you got this

When I made this card, I had so much fun. It’s so cool to create t-shirts with this set! I actually couldn’t stop at all. I hope you can see that a little bit in my collage. I made the “fabric” for the shirt using the shaving cream technique and the “Ripped Fishnet” stencil from Visible Image. I thought it looked so mega – a bit like snakeskin. That was perfect in combination with the lips. I stamped the shirt onto this background and fussy-cut it

I stamped the lips in a shade of red and colored them with polychromos. Then I also fussy-cut them and glued them on the shirt. That way I didn’t have to use masking techniques and the lips stand out more. So really yummy! For the background of my card, I took a design paper with a very lightly hinted pattern and stamped the saying many times on it. I used a greyish tone for it so that it would not be too bold. After this was dry, I stamped the dots from the set “Grunge Tones” with Versamark and embossed them in a burgundy tone.

I still had a bit of the “shirt fabric” left. From it I cut banners and stapled them to the card.

Design Team Intro | Angelique de Groot

We are really excited to introduce NEW Design Team member…

Angelique de Groot

I’m Angelique, 59 years of age. I’m Dutch, but live in the beautiful Belgian Ardennes (The French speaking part of the country). However, in Spring, me and my man move to the Netherlands, where we manage a small campsite throughout the Summer. Ever since I could hold a pencil I’ve been drawing, colouring and crafting, it keeps me busy in quiet times, happy in sad times and sane in mad times. I’m mainly a card maker and use all kinds of mediums to create. From colouring stamps with markers, pencils and watercolours, to more mixed media style techniques, with inks, stencils, gell plate and more. I have just started exploring the world of journaling.

Angelique is on our INSTA TEAM!

Follow Angelique: @craftsbylique

Angelique’s beautiful cards, wonderful use of inks in her backgrounds, and gorgeous colouring really stood out to us ♡

Angelique stamped the gorgeous heart with Versafine Clair ink onto 300 grs watercolour paper, then used red + orange Brushos with water to create colour bursts. When dry, Angelique brushed red and yellow Harmony inks through our INK SWIRLS stencil creating a wonderful effect in the background. Polychromos pencils were used to colour some of the details in the heart stamp, and a white gel pen was used for highlighting. To add some texture and shimmer Angelique added Glossy accents to some circles, and clear sparkle splashes all over it. The edges were distressed with black ink before matting and layering with black card onto a white 15x15cm white card base.

We will be back this evening with some awesome inspiration from another exciting designer who is staying on the team..

Have a great afternoon.

Live Life Now | Butterfly Stamps | Stencils

Hello there! We have Lisa Taggart here on the blog today with 2 stunning cards featuring the inky butterfly stamp from our ‘Live Life Now’ set with 2 of our butterfly stencils on a gorgeous background…

For today’s project I’ve made a duo of cards using both stencils and stamps from Visible Image including some of my personal favourites. I’ve also had a little fun using one of the new large rectangle gel press shapes from Ranger.

live life now | card | butterfly | stamp | stencil

I used the following stamps and stencils:

Live Life Now

inky butterfly | stamp | grunge

Butterfly Ink stencil

inky butterfly | stencil

Count Me In Stencil

numbers | stencil | jumbled

Entwined Butterflies Stencil

Entwined Butterflies | Stencil

‘The Ripple Effect’ background stamp set was also used but I’ve since learned that it may be retired. It’s never too late to bring it back Mark! Hopefully many of you will already have this old favourite but if not any of the other background stamp sets would work.

The steps:

To create the background I began by brayering lilac pigment ink on to the Gel press plate. On top of this I lightly sprinkled different colours of brusho powders pre mixed with water using a fan brush. I then pulled a print on to white card.

To enhance this a little further I used the entwined butterflies and count me in stencils along with iridescent gold acrylic paint to create subtle interest on top. The effects of this can be seen on the final project depending on the angle of the light.

I then used the large butterfly stencil, the background stamp set, ‘Live life now’ set and coloured ink to build up the layers.

I divided the print into two before adding the final stamped layer using black ink. I also added gold splatters and the sentiment.

Bye for now and I hope your year is a good one!
