Design Team Intro | Ericka Strange

Hello! As we continue to introduce our new BIGGER Design Team this week, we are thrilled that another of our existing designers is staying on the team…

Ericka Strange

Ericka is on our BLOGGING TEAM!

We adore Ericka’s vibrant compositions and her wonderful [and often very sparkly] embossing!

I’ve been making cards for 5 years and love working with a variety of mediums, getting inky and creating colorful backgrounds. It is so fun being part of such an encouraging and kind crafting community.

I hope you are all doing well. Today I have a fun bookmark/tag I made for my daughter. She’s a first grader and we’ve been working on reading chapter books and asked me to make a bookmark for her. Of course the perfect stamp set for a girl’s bookmark is the Visible Image Believe In Unicorns set.

I love this image as well as the great sentiment. I had the perfect background I had previously made using acrylic paints and a brayer and started by taking the unicorn image and stamping it with WOW! Embossing ink. I used the Emerald Creek Gold Sparkle embossing powder for the unicorn because it is both gold and sparkly!

I then stamped the stars around the image and heat embossed them with Emerald Creek Arctic Daybreak which is a white with gold flecks.

I stamped then created a black tag using cardstock and attached my background. I stamped the sentiment in the same Arctic embossing powder. I used my black pen to trace around the image and the “believe” to make it stand out more and then added some white gel pen to the middle of the unicorn.

My little reader is so excited to start her new chapter book with this fun bookmark.

Summer Kindness | Dragonfly Stamp

Hi there! Wow it’s another scorching hot day here in the UK! So perfect for more gorgeous summer inspiration… Jane Tyrrell has a beautiful card to share with you featuring our new dragonfly stamp…

Happy summer! Yes we have enjoyed our longest day too and the long summers days loom ahead. I live very near the River Wandle as it winds its way back up to London and I delight in my walks along it.

As I walked along yesterday I saw a flash of colour in the undergrowth

I only had my phone with me (very unusal for me!) but I managed to snap a very summery visitor, a shimmery dragonfly.

This leads in perfectly to my latest design team project for Visible Image and I am sharing another sample I made using the brand new stamp release which is released tomorrow!

I made a summery card using the lovely dragonfly from the Summer Wings set:

summer stamps | butterfly | dragonfly | line drawings

I decided to get out my alcohol inks and made a summery background

I cut it down for a 7X5″ card

I stamped all the images onto acetate which I had also added alcohol ink to (I will use the butterflies for another project).

I also gold embossed some of them (sorry no photos!) I decided to use just the wings of the gold embossed acetate dragonfly and gold embossed another on some inky mop up card. I used the 2 together to make a real statement dragonfly.

This was just right for my alcohol ink background.

I also decided to use one of the fab sentiments from the new Equality, Hope and Love stamp set

equality | hope| love | sentiment stamps | definitions

Here is my finished card.

with some close ups..

and one last shot:

I have LOTS more samples to share over the coming weeks and do keep an eye out on social media where mine and my teamies samples are being shared.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Bye for now,

Jane x
