Summer Wings | Dragonfly Stamp

Hello and Happy Friday to you! We have stempelfrida here on the blog today with a fabulous summer card featuring the dragonfly stamp from our NEW ‘Summer Wings’ set…

Hello, dears!

I have brought my Visible Image day earlier, because yay, a new release of Visible Image is here! It consists of six new stamp sets and they are once again very different from the previous ones. Have you looked yet? Already now you can pre-order the stamps, they will be delivered at the end of this month. As always I was allowed to play with some of them. Today I used the set with the dragonfly called “Summer wings”.

dragonfly stamp | mixed media card | acrylic paint | geometric flowers

The background for my card is a gelli plate print. Besides blue/aqua tones I also used gold, which you will also find on other elements like the flowers and the dragonfly. The print is not very sophisticated technique wise. The ovals are made by just rolling a spot of paint with the brayer the longer lines are made with wood sticks.

I stamped the dragonfly with Versamark and embossed it with a powder consisting of different colours of the ocean. I then coloured it with Twinkling H2Os. Do you know those? I didn´t use them for ages. They are water colours with lots of shimmer and give a wonderful glittery look. I found that perfect for the dragonfly. I bent the wings and the body a bit.

The flowers are also stamped with Versamark and then embossed in gold. They are from an older set called “Visometry” and are actually geometric elements. They go wonderfully with the dragonfly, have you noticed? The structures on the wings reflect the flowers. Or vice versa. Then I coloured the flowers with watercolour.

Just Be Happy!

Hello! We are back with some fabulous inspiration from Pauline Butcher this evening…

Hi there,

It’s time for me to show a little bit of  VISIBLE IMAGE‘ inspiration!

This week I chose a couple of their awesome stamp sets, and a super duper stencil to play with, and came up with this card…

The stamp sets I have used are:

Both backgrounds were created with some Distress inks, direct to card, very randomly, and then stamped on top using a Wow Embossing pad (in my estimation, much better than a Versamark pad, and I didn’t think I’d ever be able say that !!!!)

The Visometry patterns were also stamped with a Wow Embossing pad heat embossed using Totally Teal embossing glitter, as was the jumping girl, but she had some Pink Fizz embossing powder sprinkled on top of her.

The sentiment was heat embossed using Purple Orchid embossing powder, and I coloured in the Visometry patterns, using some Clean colour brush pens.

Thanks for popping in.
Hugs,
Pauline xxxxxxx

In Bold Colour

Hi there! We are back as promised with gorgeous inspiration from Teresa Morgan this evening…

This week I have another of the cards I created for the Create and Craft sellout show.

This one uses the beautiful Visometry set along with a really cool sentiment.

My background was created using some soft pastel colours of Distress Oxides,
I then stamped the Visometry stamp with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.

I love how you can align these stamps to join them together and stamp larger designs.

The sentiment is embossed with a deep pink embossing powder which is transparent,
allowing the colours underneath to affect the tones – it’s a nice effect which works well with these words.

Thanks to all of you who tuned in to watch the show and make it the massive success that it was.

Don’t forget to check out the links below – from next month we will be adding a themed challenge
to the Facebook group as well as our regular Show and Tell!

The Greatest Journey Lies Ahead

Hello there! Thanks for popping in today.

We have more awesome inspiration to share with you for this weekend’s show on Create and Craft TV!

First up today is Elina Strömberg…

Hi and happy Thursday!

Today I’m sharing with you two colourful tags that I made over the wonderful long weekend:

This time I did not use ready made manila tags but die-cut the size 8 tags myself. Actually I cut both tags twice; once from solid purple paper and once from a colourful paper I had inked with Distress Oxide inks. Oh how I love playing with those!

Whenever I’m working on a colourful background I like to use some contrasting black and white elements that really make the vivid colours pop. Using the fun ‘Visometry’ stamp set by Visible Image I stamped the same geometrical shape several times on a white paper, coloured the triangles with black and grey markers and cut out. It’s always fun to find new ways for using your favourite stamps!

In addition to the Distress Oxide layers I created more background patterns with Visible Image ‘Scripted Streets‘ stamp. The tiny black splashes are black ink.

The word stamps are from Visible Image ‘Destination Unknown‘ stamp set. Again I mixed and matched the quotes in a new way; love that creative puzzle play!

I did not use any dimensional elements on the tags, so both of them are thin which makes them perfect bookmarks, too. I think that the quote text is matching that use; when you have a good book in your hand you know that a great adventure always lies ahead!

Wishing you a nice week. Many thanks for stopping by!

Dream

Hi there, we have another incredible card to share with you today, created with our Face it stamps.

Over to Teresa Morgan…

Good Morning

It’s time for another dose of Visible Image inspiration from me. I have been combining the old with the new again this week and have a serene card using the fabulous new Face it! stamps.

I began by spritzing some acrylic sprays on my base card – yellow, red and a slight touch of blue. Once dry I added some larger splats with black, white and green acrylic paint and a fine brush. (Thin the paint with a little water, load the fine brush, then tap the handle to flick spots of paint randomly over the background.)

I stamped and embossed the sentiment onto white card then matted onto black and set aside.

Once completely dry I stamped and embossed the face with black embossing powder, and the Visometry stamps with white embossing powder. I wanted some dimension to the card so embossed some of the smaller shapes onto heat resistant acetate and layered over the larger ones with 3d gel. Some super sparkly Prima gems in the centres finished the card.
