Galaxy Skies

Hi there! Josefine is back with her second project to inspire you today…

I bet you have tried several ways of creating a galaxy sky background. I did too. With water colors, Ken Oliver Color Bursts and now I also tried it with Paper Artsy Infusions. And what to do with it? Yes! Using it for the new Visible Image Zodiac stamp sets. For today’s card, I used the Gemini one. Why? Well, I’m a Gemini 😀

To show you how easy it is to create a galaxy background with the Paper Artsy Infusions, here is a quick tutorial. I picked a mix of blue, purple and pink colors. The exact ones are listed below.

I sprinkled a mix of purple and pink onto a piece of card stock. To reduce the mess, I put the paper into a tupperware box. Then I spritzed water on top using my awesome super fine mister.

While the paper was still wet, I sprinkled the other colors on top till I had the saturation that I wanted. Then I heat set it. There was still so much gorgeous color left, so I decided to dip the paper into the left over color inside the box. I’m so glad that I did that, because it added the perfect texture.

I needed a few stars, so I sprinkled some white paint all over the paper.

Next up, I wanted to stamp the Gemini star sign. I wanted to make sure that it sparkles and shines in all its gorgeousness. The Emerald Creek Gold Sparkle embossing powder was the perfect pick for my sparkling focal point.

Then I stamped some of the sayings to the inside of the card.

At the end I adhered the galaxy background onto a black piece of card stock and both onto a white card base.

I hope you enjoyed my super easy galaxy background with the Visible Image Zodiac stamp for the Gemini sign. 🙂

Beyond The Skies..

Good Evening,

We have a super stunning card by Jane Tyrrell here on the blog this evening! You may have already seen this when we launched our NEW ‘Zodiac stamps’ but Jane is here to tell you how she created her incredible galaxy background…

Today I am blogging my sample made with the awesome Zodiac Aries stamp set from the new “Written in the stars” collection. I am Aries myself so perhaps this is an early birthday card for me?

When I first saw these sets I immediately thought of creating an “out of this world” scene to showcase my set. I look around me all the time for inspiration from Mother Nature but I do also love gazing up at the skies…so beautiful.
I also love watching the moon and took these shots last year in Rhodes from our favourite beach restaurant.

Apologies that I was too busy making my samples to take process photos so I will talk you through it…

I made an inky background using distress oxides using the wrinkle free technique.
When it was dry I embossed the moon from the Believe in Unicorns stamp set using white and blue embossing powders.

I stamped and embossed the large ram head in gold

and the words in white

I then linked everything up with the fab constellation star stamps, also in the set. using rose gold ink.

So those descriptions of Aries….
Courageous
Impulsive
Generous
Strong
Positive
does it describe me…
…you’d better ask those who know me well! 😁

Such unique stamps, always.

Back soon,

Bye for now,
Jane x

This card is incredible Jane! I think the best oxides galaxy background we’ve seen!! The gold stamping looks fabulous against it.. thank you ♡

Cosmic Skies

Hi there! Apologies that we have neglected our blog for a few days.. we needed to spend every minute dispatching orders and continuing with the unpacking in our super new premises!

Our Design Team have lots of gorgeous new projects so we’ll be catching up with them over the next few days.

Jane Tyrrell has a fantastic new card to share…

Today is my weekly Design Team inspiration for Visible Image. This week I chose to use another of the fab older sentiments which works perfectly for my post today.

This stamp has such a unique typeface. I have often used the “eye” as a partner for this stamp but I decided I wanted to showcase this great sentiment all by itself.

I had the idea to stamp the sentiment on clear acetate “window” and then create a very textured starry sky.

This is my Distress Oxide starry sky..

To add some sparkly stars I used sparkle medium through the

Cosmic Skies stencil..

I used a clear based one as the inks soak into the medium and take up a wonderful glow…

I made my “window” and used little star brads in each corner to attach my sentiment.

Here is my finished card..

In real life it has a very textured sparkle, just like the sky at night twinkling..

Thanks so much for stopping by and for the lovely comments you take the time to leave me.

Back soon.

Bye for now,

Jane x
