Glimmer of Light – Visible Image Stamps

Hello! Thanks for visiting!

Pauline is here to inspire you today with an amazing project featuring stamps from our Summer Release and our brilliant MDF Monoliths…

Hi there,
I thought it was about time I decorated another Visible Image Monolith, they are such fun to do, and there are endless possibilities.
I used one of my fave Visible Image Stamps sets, from the new releases, for this project, it’s stunning and I love it, it’s called……
Glimmer of Lightplus the fabulous Rays of Light, and the Shine Bright setyou see the theme, lol !
And of course don’t forget the fabulous MDF, which come in a pack of 5…… Monoliths.

Visible Image - Glimmer of Light - Pauline Butcher 1

I used Dylusion Paints on the front, a Black base, then combination of colours on top, then stamped the Rays, using white Ink, where I wanted the little light bulbs to hang. I then stamped the little bulbs and the sentiment in Black Versafine Ink, and heat embossed the wonderful Moth, onto card , coloured them in using Distress Inks, and fussy cut them all.

I added glossy accents to the bulbs, and Stickles to the Moths.

On the other side, again I painted the MDF in Black, added some paste through a stencil, and when it was dry, used Gilding wax to highlight it.

I stamped the Ray into Acetate, and heat embossed it in Yellow powder, and the large light bulb, again onto acetate, and heat embossed in Black powder. I stamped some more small light bulbs using Black ink, coloured them and then fussy cut, glued them to the MDF, and used Glossy Accents.

I wasn’t happy with the large bulb being black, so using a white pen I highlighted the outline. The Moths were stamped with Stazon, onto Shrink Plastic, and I coloured them with crayons, fussy cut them, then heated and watched the magic happen……

I hope I have given you a bit of inspiration on how to decorate the MDF Monoliths.

MDF Monoliths @ Visible Image

Hello! Thanks for visiting 🙂

We have a totally awesome project by Veerle Moreels to share with you today! You have probably already seen our brilliant MDF Monoliths which we launched in January.. they have been incredibly popular! Free-standing and reversible, they are so versatile as Veerle will show you…

Do you know the monoliths? They are beautiful MDF pieces Mark Alexander designed for Visible Image and give you so much possibilities to go and create awesome projects. Today I want to share my latest creation using a monolith. I had so much fun even more because I had beautiful new stamps from the Visible Image Summer release 2016 ^.^

Getting curious…you can see it start-to-finish in the video I made…

I have shown the close ups pictures in the video but I do want to share the end result here too. I bet you I’ll never forget what I need to remember ^.^

Now, I know not everybody loves skulls…but why not make this project using only butterflies, flowers or a beautiful colored in piece and use bright colors. This idea can be made in different styles, and these monoliths give you so much possibilities. If you are looking for some inspiration, head on over to the project gallery to see what my talented teamies already made using them.

Want to go and create? Visible Image send their products without any trouble and very cheap postage too!  You can find everything in their online webshop.

Thank you Veerle! Such a brilliant project and a great video 🙂

We hope you are feeling inspired! If you are new to trying mixed media, Monoliths are a perfect first step as they are not too big.. just a coat of gesso or acrylic paint and you can stamp away, or simply stick your card or favourite papers onto them!

Thanks again for visiting us today and be sure to pop back soon to see what the rest of the team have been creating!

Shine Bright @ Visible Image

Good Evening! We are back with some awesome inspiration this evening!

First up is Katy Leitch with this amazing Monolith..

2016-02-10 Visible Image - freestanding MDF - Light Bulb stamp - Katy Leitch

Hello there! My make for the Visible Image DT today uses two of their BRAND NEW releases which are now available to pre-order. As soon as I saw the Shine Bright stamp I knew I wanted it. Something that little bit different…

2016-02-10 Visible Image - Light Bulb stamp - Katy Leitch

Also new are the MDF monoliths which are perfect for making pieces for display and also for practical makes (more on that from some of my teamies to come). I’ve created something purely decorative today.

2016-02-10 Visible Image - Light Bulb stamp - Katy Leitch 2

Here’s how I made it:

1) To create the background I layered scrunched tissue paper over cardstock (you could also work straight onto the MDF if you prefer). I added a die cut clock and some string before painting the whole thing with black gesso,

2) When the gesso had dried, I dry-brushed all over with paint in purple and blue shades (I used DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics). After that, I dry-brushed a very small amount of white gesso onto some of the raised areas.

3) I painted some die cut cogs with silver metallic paint (also DecoArt Media) and added them to the background along with some washers and nuts from the DIY store.

4) I stamped the light bulb onto white card and coloured it with Distress Inks (Mustard Seed and Wild Honey). I added silver Sakura Gelly Roll metallic pen to the lower parts.

5) I then stamped the lightbulb again onto Dura-Lar film using StazOn (you could use acetate instead). The Dura-Lar can be heated and gently shaped and here it’s curved gently to resemble a ‘real’ lightbulb. Apply more silver pen to the back of the film light bulb and glue it over the card one, just adding the glue towards the base where the black stamping will hide it.

6) Stamp a portion of the ‘inspire’ dictionary stamp onto a scrap of card, swipe lightly with Distress Ink in Mustard Seed before securing behind a bookplate.

Hope you LOVE this stamp as much as me!

Monday Inspiration Part 1 @ Visible Image

Good Morning! Hope you had a great weekend 🙂

This coming week is packed full of gorgeous inspiration created with our NEW stamps, leading up to our show on Create and Craft TV on Sunday at 10am… Valentine’s day… a perfect day to spread some Visible Image LOVE! ♡ ♡ ♡ And we know you will love not only the products on the show but the amazing demo’s Mark and Pauline have planned! We can’t wait!!!

Today we have 2 awesome projects here on the blog. First up is our US Design Team member Kim Johnny with her very first Monolith…

Today I am so excited to share my first project made with the awesome new products by Visible Image!! Yay!

As part of the design  team, I was very grateful to be given some of the new MDF “Monoliths” and new stamps to play and share today. The Monoliths and Dragonfly “Live in the Moment” are available for pre-order now!

This play was lots of fun and I really tried to use everything I love in making it!

Visible Image stamps - Live In The Moment - Dragonfly stamp - Kim Johnny

The Monolith is a wonderful size and is designed to work with the stamps perfectly. It is 17cm x 10cm. About 6 inches by 4 inches and a sturdy 3mm thick, laser cut and smooth. And I know it’s weird, but the wood smells good, too. Yeah I know weird but I love the smell of pencils and wood 🙂
I created the background with my DecoArt Blogger stash. Yummy DecoArt Crackle Paste, Fluid Acrylics and Antiquing Cream.

The flip side is collaged with mat medium and DecoArt Fluid Acrylics. It is edged in the DA Fluid Acrylic Gold, love the shine it has.

Everything is heat embossed because I love embossing and dragonflies. So I had to combine all the things I love in this project. It makes them shine 🙂 I used Ranger Extra Fine Black and Recollections Bronze powders.
