Mixed Media Art Journal | Dreamer

Hi there! We have Lynda Hall up next on the blog with an awesome project featuring our mesmerising ‘See Everything’ eye collage stamp…

Good Evening! It’s my turn to share a little Visible Image inspiration with you all, and for this weeks project I have created a journal for playing in with all my favourite stamps.

sizzix journal die | eye stamp | art journal

I love the Sizzix  journal dies by Eileen Hull and used the Pocket Notebook cut from greyboard. I knew I wanted to use a inks etc on it, and so wanted to cover it with mixed media cardstock. This is best to do prior to cutting, and using double sided A4 adhesive sheets to get full and firm coverage. With both sides covered I then ran it through my Bigshot.

I used See Everything as my focal image and stamped and embossed it on the face of my journal. As I planned to use spray ink, I masked off the eye and white circles with masking fluid. Once dry I was able to go to town with my inks.

Once dry ( allow to dry naturally) , I added depth with the Two Tone stencil, in co ordinating Distress Ink., and added some background stamping for more detail.

When dry I was able to rub off the masking fluid and colour the details.

The Dreamer sentiment is from the Own It set, and I added a little quote from Brighten The World on the front too. Ont the back I added another quote from the brilliant Voices In Your Head set.

Of course I couldn’t create a journal and not make a start on my signatures to go inside. Here’s the first page.

And the stamps I used to create it of course!

I am really looking forward to filling this up over time – with all things Visible Image of course!

2020 Vision | Eye Stamp

Hello and Happy New Year to you! We are very excited for the year ahead with lots of exciting new releases planned and an incredible Design Team inspiring you with their amazing projects! Kicking off a brand new year of inspiration is Jane Tyrrell with an awesome New Year card featuring our iconic eye stamp and more…

Good morning,

Today I am sharing my first make for Visible Image in 2020. I decided that I needed an injection of colour. I chose to use the iconic original large eye stamp from Where Dreams Take You

eye stamp | clear | rubber

I teamed it with some of the words from Destination Unknown

paper plane | boat | stamp | destination unknown | adventure

and the time spiral stamp from Ahead of our Time

I also wanted it to have the new decade on it so I used the numbers from Alphabetical to make a card.

alphabet stamp set | rubber | clear

This is what I got up to;

First I stamped and embossed the eye onto white mixed media card

I used these distress inks

I masked the eye and blended the colours onto the card

Once finished I removed the mask

I then stamped the time swirl using archival ink

and added the words

I added 2020 using the 2 and 0 and stamping them twice

I finished off by adding some green gel pen to the pupil of the eye

Here is my finished card;

Some close ups..

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Back soon.

Bye for now,
Jane x

I See Bold Colour

Good Evening! We have a bold and fabulous journal post by Lynn Good here on the blog today…

Hi everybody, today I have an art journal page to share with you…

I began by putting down some bold colours – I find this often gives me clarity about what I want to do

I have used Dylusion paints – Lemon Zest, Postbox Red, and Tangerine Dream.

I have used the ‘Time Tunnel’ stencil and Distress Ink Chipped Sapphire to create the focal points

I used Dina Wakeley Heavy Body White paint and a brayer randomly around the pages.  With the left over white paint I applied this to the ‘Strobes’ Stencil and using a roll of paper towel, pressed it onto the page.

On a separate piece of paper I have stamped the eye from the ‘Where Dreams Take You’ stamp set and cut it out, adhering it to the art journal page using matte gel medium.  I have coloured the eye with a watercolour blue.

I have then randomly stamped around the layout using stamps that I have listed below in the products list.  I have used a white paint pen and the Dylusions paints to highlight areas.  For the final touch I have applied Whipped Spackle paste through a stencil randomly on the layout to bring it all together.

Here are some close ups:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that I have given you some inspiration to get out the bold colours and create.

Til next time – Happy Crafting!
Lynn

Fantastic pages Lynn, the Time Tunnel stencil looks great behind the eye!
Thank you ♡

Box of Vision

Hello there! Thank you for visiting our blog today.. we hope you are having  a good week!

We have loads of stunning inspiration to share with you today, starting with an incredible project by Teresa Morgan…

Take a plain wooden box, some gelli printed papers and a set of amazing stamps, and what do you get?
This amazing box of delights. I love how this turned out, the bright colours and striking eye design!!

I had made the printed backgrounds previously using acrylic paints and bubble wrap on my gelli plate. I trimmed them to size and then gave the box a coat of black gesso.

I love it when things just work out – serendipity!! The words were a perfect fit, and were stamped with black Archival ink directly onto the paper.

There’s another fabulous sentiment inside –

The eye is stamped and embossed onto heat resistant acetate and layered over some white card. I coloured the iris on the white card before sticking the layers together. Finally I added some tiny gems.

Thanks for stopping by – I hope you have been inspired today!!

Where Dreams Take You

Amazing project Teresa.. thank you! ♡

Vision @ Visible Image

Hello, thanks for stopping by our blog today.

We have another awesome card by Pauline Butcher to inspire you…

Hellooooo,

I’m back with more Design Team inspiration for ‘Visible Image’, using a couple of awesome stamp sets..Where Dreams Take You  and Live Life Now.

visible-image-stamps-vision-inky-grungy-eye-stamp-pauline-butcher

I stamped the fabulous eye, using Versamark, and heat embossed it using a Wow Red powder, yummy. I stamped the eye again with black ink, onto a sticky note, and fussy cut it out, I placed this mask over the embossed eye, and coloured the background using Distress Inks. I then stamped the ‘Go where your Dreams take you’, again using Distress ink.

I stamped the small butterflies with Versamark, and heat embossed them with the red powder, I then took the mask off, and coloured the Iris, and put a bit of shading into the corner of the eye. The ‘Vision’ sentiment was stamped with Versamark, onto a separate piece of card, and again heat embossed using the Red powder, and fussy cut.

I used Stickles, to bling up the butterflies, and to put a twinkle in the eye.

Time for you to get out your Visible Image Stamps, and enter the December Challenge, just create a card, using only Visible Image stamps, and enter HERE, for a chance to win a £25 voucher, to spend in their shop.
