Get Well Soon | Autumn Card

Hello! We have some gorgeous inspiration to share with you today… Stempelfrida has created a fantastic Get Well Soon card featuring our Forest and Bird stencils…

As you can see, I’ve really fallen in love with the set of stencil and mask with the bird from Visible Image. It’s so great that you have both the positive and the negative of the stencil in the set. One can use the set for so many different occasions. Today I have a get well card for you.

For my card I used two of the great new stencils/masks from Visible Image. The background is a forest, which I put horizontal. I covered my paper with the stencil and then sprayed two colours of Distress Oxides Spray over it.

When this was well dried, I put the bird mask on it and dabbed the edges with a sponge with distress oxides from the stamp pad. Thereby I always brushed the colour from the middle to the outside. Then I took off the mask and accentuated the contours with Polychromos. In the bird I stamped the writing from the set “Go To Words”.

Other supplies

Stamp pads: Distress Oxides Ground espresso, Brushed corduroy
Sprays: Distress Oxides iced spruce, spiced marmalade
Polychromos 177, 169

This is such a gorgeous card stempelfrida and we love how you shaded around the mask from the ‘Time Flies’ set. There is a wonderful Autumn feel to it. Thank you ♡

Life Is Beautiful | Hummingbird Stamp

Hello and Happy Saturday to you! We hope you can relax a little. We have some wonderful inspiration coming your way over the weekend, kicking off with a beautiful card by Heather Mitchell featuring our Daisy Daisy stencil with our hummingbird stamp…

Morning everyone!

I am loving this beautiful weather we’ve been having lately, pottering around in my garden and I have a few beautiful blooms of Daisys popping out between some foliage… although I don’t get many Hummingbirds making an appearance unfortunately!

For this weeks Visible Image DT inspiration, I’ve used two new stencils:

Daisy Daisy

and Heavy Rain

rain stencil

and overlaid the beautiful Life is Beautiful Hummingbird

hummingbird stamp | life is beautiful sentiment

So here’s how I did it…

I began by trimming some watercolour card to 7.5″ square and laying the Daisy Daisy stencil in the middle.  I’ve given it a good spritz using the new gorgeous Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Spray and then carefully removed the stencil before drying.

As I wanted to stencil over the flower, I used the stencil again to make a mask and secured it in place with some low-tack masking tape.  I’ve then used the Heavy Rain stencil to add the fabulous lines across and up/down using the oxide ink pads shown.

To give the Daisy some definition, I’ve used my Derwent Inktense pencils on the petals, some I’ve used a water brush on and some I’ve left and when this layer was dry, I added a few swishes of white Posca pen.

The Hummingbird was added using a stamping platform as I wanted a good coverage and knew I may have to re-ink it two or three times. I’ve used Chipped Sapphire and Dusty Concord Oxide ink pads for this, dabbing the ink pads over the stamp, stamping it on the background and then  changing colour.

The sentiment is also from the Life is Beautiful set and has been stamped using Versafine Clair Rain Forest and added to the card using foam tape.

To complete the make, I’ve matted it onto a navy card and then onto an 8×8″ card blank.

I am loving the new stencils and stamps… what’s your favourite?  Ripped Fishnet is very popular stencil and I love it too… but I also love Words of Support.  Great for journal makes and you may have seen my journal page I recently posted in the Facebook group using that alongside the new Bad Day stamp set.

If you’ve bought any of the new releases (or anything Visible Image to be honest!) keep an eye on instagram and the #visibleimage as there is sooooo much amazing stuff being posted daily… and of course, the group on Facebook has fabulous cards and makes uploaded too!

Enjoy the weather while it’s lovely and sunny (I hope it is wherever you are!) and I’ll catch up again soon xx

This is such a gorgeous card! We love the effect of the hummingbird stamped over the daisy, such wonderful chalky texture too! Thank you Heather ♡

Transform | Mermaid Stamp | Fishnet Stencil

Good Evening! We are sneaking in with another project tonight… Ericka Strange has teamed up our awesome NEW ‘Ripped Fishnet’ stencil with our ‘Mythical Mermaid’ stamp to create a stunning card…

Today I’m showcasing the NEW Ripped Fishnet stencil with Distress Oxide inks

mermaid stamp | fishnet stencil | torn | ripped | underwater theme card

I used Bristol Smooth paper and post it tape to mask off a section of my card. I then took Distress Oxides in Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers and blended the two colours together. I then used the Fishnet stencil and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide and blended it on top of the two colors.

I didn’t want the background of the mermaid to be white, so I first blended Distress Oxides in Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio.

I stamped the image with Versafine ink and only heat embossed the portion on the mermaid I wanted to sparkle with Cloud 9 embossing powder.

I took a water brush and paper towel and removed the ink on a portion I wanted to be lighter. I then added some Zig Real Color Brushmarkers for added depth to the image and cut her out to use on my card.

I applied foam tape to the back and adhered her to the card base. I added the sentiment from the Wings of Change set to finish off my card.
