Grungy Ballerina

Hello! We have some fabulous hot pink inspiration from Becca Cruger here on the blog today…

Happy Sunday, friends! I’m popping in to share a card I just created for Visible Image. I was really really excited to get the Born to Perform set because I don’t have any stamps for dancing or performing arts and this set is super unique and artsy..

One of the techniques I like to use from time-to-time is to use my ink pad directly to press ink on to my paper. In this case, I used Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide.

Next, I spritzed the ink with water to let it bleed and soften the hard edges.

I stamped a series of words to create a graffiti-like effect in the background.

On the bottom layer of my card base, I added a little bit of stamped grunge with the Universal stamp set..

I added some hand-drawn stitching, washi tap and black gemstones, along with a stamped ballet dancer to finish off the design.

I hope you all like it!
Becca

Loving your grungy background Becca and our ballerina looks gorgeous in pink! Thank you ♡

Born to Dance

Hi there! We have more gorgeous inspiration to share with you here on the blog today.

The words and accessory stamps in our stamp sets make gorgeous cards and projects in their own right, as Jane Tyrrell will show you…

Today my inspiration for Visible Image is inspired by “Swan Lake” after a recent visit to a boating lake. It got me thinking and reminiscing about ballet.

My daughter, in her time was quite a ballet dancer and even had the chance to dance a couple of sessions at the Royal Ballet’s White Lodge in Richmond as a teenager. Even as a junior doctor she tried to get to a ballet lesson whenever she could. Her young children and busy life as a GP mean that disappearing off to ballet is not possible for now.  I am sure in the future though she will get back to her dancing. My Mum also used to take her regularly to see ballet shows in London, from a very early age right up until she moved out of London.  I have also been to the ballet many times with my Mum. We have seen all the major ballets including Swan Lake.  Most recently I even managed to drag my Hb along.

So I knew just which stamps to use for today’s post…

Yes the brilliant Born to perform stamp set

I have made previous cards using the dancer so this time I thought I would use some of the words as a focal sentiment and also the great add ons which come with this set. The little ballet shoes are really fun to work with. I stamped and embossed 3 sets of shoes, 1 in red and 2 in black

which I then fussy cut out.

There is a great mix of words you can use in this set. I decided to use the words below. I stamped on some the stars and die cut out my focal.

Then I put on my creative hat to put together my card.

Here it is;

I added a Noor star diecut using black card and filled in one of the stars with red glitter for some bling. I also added red brads to the stamped stars and ribbons to the shoes . I used some of my home printed music paper. This card brings back memories of the hours I spent when my girlie was a teenager sewing ribbons into her new satin ballet shoes.

Here is a close up the sweet shoes.

Bye for now,
Jane x

Fabulous card Jane, and great idea to make the words the focal point for a change. We love black and red.. always looks so striking! Thanks Jane! ♡

Ballerina Journal

Hi there! We are back with more awesome inspiration for you!

Teresa is here to share a fantastic journal page today…

Good afternoon – can you believe it’s almost Easter??? Spring seems to have arrived here in my part of the UK,
the blossom is out on the trees, daffodils are blooming and green leaves are budding all around the garden….

Today I have a journal page to share with you using the beautiful ballerina from the Born To Perform set of stamps.

I prepped my page with gesso then added some patches of yellow paint. Red and black Distress inks
were used through some punchinella stencils to create the dots. Layers of stamping were added next,
using the stars and words from the set.

Once my background was complete I used Archival Jet Black ink to stamp the dancer and the stars (from the Feel The Beat set), adding some Stickles to the stars for sparkle!!

Born To Perform

Hi there! We have so much fabulous inspiration coming your way here on the blog today.

Our Born To Perform set has been incredibly popular and our Design Team are loving it too!

Teresa Morgan is here on the blog today with a gorgeous card she has created with this stamp set…

Thanks so much to you all for the amazing response you have given to all of us at Visible Image over the past month –
Helen and Mark have put together an amazing collection of stamps to mix and match with the existing range,
and the team has been bursting with inspiration. We also would love to say a big hello and thank you to all the new
Facebook group members who have been proudly sharing their awesome projects with everybody – we all love to see what you are making!!!

Anyway, on to my project for this week – I have been playing with the fabulous Born to Perform set and my Brushos!!

I used Versamark ink and white embossing powder to stamp the words across the background. This acted as a resist
for the Brushos which I sprinkled lightly over the card then spritzed with water to release the colour.

Can you guess which colours I used??? Surprisingly only two – black and gamboge.
I love the rainbow effect these created as the colours split and blended!

The ballerina is stamped and embossed onto heat resistant acetate and attached with Pinflair Glue gel
so that she is ‘floating’ over the background. I added a few black iridescent gems to her tutu to add some
dimension and a subtle touch of bling. I finished by adding a shadow to the words using a fineliner pen.

I know a lot of you own Brushos – why not have a play with them this week along with your new stamps
and share in the Facebook group – we can’t wait to see what you create.

Born To Dance

Hi there! So sorry our blog has been neglected of late! It has been a crazy busy time with the UK trade show last week and our TV show next week!

Pauline is here today to share some absolutely stunning inspiration with you…

Hellooooo,

I’ve used another of those awesome new Visible Image stamp sets for my share for this week,
the beautiful ‘Born to Perform‘ set.

2017-02-25 Visible Image - Ballerina stamp - born to perform - Pauline Butcher

I have kept it quite plain, as I wanted the ballerina to really stand out, so I stamped the image using Versamark,
and heat embossed it using black embossing powder, then just using a couple of colours of Distress ink,
I blended them around her. I added the stars and the sentiments, again heat embossing with black.

Then came the fun bit, blinging it up, lol….. Stardust Stickles inside the stars,
and on top of the Tutu, whilst the Stickles are still wet, I added soome different coloured glitters.

I am holding another ‘Pauline’s Inky Workshop’,
in Warwick, on Sunday March 12th, 10am – 4pm, £25 per person,
we will be making 3 colourful cards using various inky techniques,
along with some awesome Visible Image Stamps, some Donna Downy stencils, and some Stamps by Ryn.
Please contact me if you are interested ……. [email protected]

Thanks for visiting, hugs, Pauline xxxxx

Wow! Your tutu is incredible Pauline!!! Absolutely beautiful card thank you ♡

Isn’t our ballerina fabulous… it’s all in the detail, from the shading on the silhouette to the ink spraying off her tutu!

Dance Dance Dance

Hi there! We promised you more awesome inspiration so here we are delivering!

Check out this amazing tag by Teresa Morgan…

I have never considered myself to be a ‘girly’ girl, but I fell in love with the Born To Perform stamp set when I first saw it.

Today’s project is a bright and colourful tag using some of the stamps in this set:

2017-02-09 Visible Image - dance - inky ballerina stamp - Teresa Morgan

I die cut a large tag from black card using my Sizzix Alterations die, then stamped the word ‘Dance’ onto strips of white card using Distress Inks. Once these were trimmed to size I glued them in place then stamped and embossed the ballerina over the top. Some rainbow ribbon completes the project.
