Summer Flowers | Daffodil Stamp

Hello! We hope you had a lovely weekend and are starting the new week feeling rested. We have lots of gorgeous projects coming your way this week, starting with a beautiful summer card by Judy Rozema featuring our daffodil stamp…

Summer is almost over?? Say it isn’t so! I know many of us still feel stuck in March. I know I do frequently. But, I am also ready for cooler weather. How about you?

So before summer disappears completely, I want to share some of my summer creations using stamps and stencils from Visible Image.

First up is my favorite new stencil: MESH IT UP. I love the irregular, non-symmetrical design. It gives such great texture to any background! For this card, I started with heavy, toothed watercolor paper, inked up with Distress Oxide Inks, and swirled with a water brush to soften the colors. I chose two pinks, a yellow, and a touch of green.

Then I stamped the daffodils from FLOWER ART using VersaFine Clair Nocturne. Because of the texture of the watercolor paper, the image lines also show texture. Next came the sentiment from SUMMER WINGS. I thought “reflect” worked well with the watercolor circles of yellow. Finally, I added the MESH IT UP stencil on top, using my MAKE IT ART STAY-tion to hold the stencil in place. I added tiny rhinestones for sparkle.

I love this stencil and these stamps so much, that I made another card using the same products, but with different background techniques and colors – and had totally forgotten that it was so similar. That’s 2020 for you!

For this one I used a smooshed background with Distress Oxides and a sentiment from EQUALITY HOPE & LOVE.

Which do you like better?

Daffodil Stamp | Canvas

Hi there, we are really excited for today’s inspiration! Jane Tyrrell has got her hands on our new stamps and has a rather special project to share with you here on the blog today…

Hi friends, have you seen there is a brand new Visible Image stamp release? It is available for pre-order now and is being released on June 26th. I got my hands on the stamps on Friday to make some samples and I have been blown away by how gorgeous they are. There are 6 new A6 sets and every one is fab. I am popping in today as I just had to share my first sample as it features my favourite flower, the daffodil.

It is one of 3 lovely flowers in the new Flower Art set

I used it with a fab existing background stamps called Fibonacci

I decided to make myself a canvas to hang in my studio and wanted a very organic/vintage feel.

This is what I got up to:

I took some corrugated card and ripped it back and also found an old Dusty Attic chipboard frame in my stash which I won many moons ago.

I used distress paints on the chipboard
and finished off with gold Stickles which you will see at the end.

I also die cut some hessian to add a focal frame underneath

I coloured the cardboard with distress paints and added highlights with Tarnished Brass distress paint.

Out came my trusty  “A tale of two cities” book for some book page flowers and I used an inky off cut for the leaves and the centres of the daffodils.

I also added Glossy Accents to the trumpet of the flower head.

Here is my finished canvas, the words which come in this set work so well with the images too.  Daffodils are indeed such beautiful yet delicate flowers.

I have LOTS more samples to share over the coming weeks, and do keep an eye out on social media where mine and my teamies samples are being shared.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Bye for now,

Jane x
