Mini Art Journal | Creative Stamping

Hello! We hope you are keeping well. Jeanette is here to inspire you on the blog today! As part of our instagram team, Jeanette doesn’t usually feature on our blog, but we just had to share all the process photos and inside pics of the fantastic mini art journal she has made with creative quotes from our BRIGHTEN THE WORLD and THE WORLD NEEDS ART stamp sets, with our DE-STRESSED background stamps.
Mini Art Journal Stamping

Tutorial

Jeanette used Dina Wakley Media cotton water color paper, cut into pieces measuring 2.5 x 5 inches. One side was coated with gesso before applying Dina Wakley Media acrylic paint in lime, evergreen + ocean using a brayer.

Next Jeanette stamped stamps from the De-stressed set with Altenew Obsidian pigment ink on all the pages, before adding contrasting colours [sedona + cheddar].

Jeanette then splashed some white Liquitex Acrylic Ink on the pages and made sure everything was dry before continuing to assemble the mini art journal.

The pages were folded in the middle and glued back to back, and Jeanette used a piece of Dina Wakley sticky back canvas tape to secure the spine of the journal.

The cover was painted with the same colours used inside, and Jeanette did some more stamping before glueing everything together.

The sentiments were then stamped on white smooth cardstock, then grunged up with Distress Oxides in rusty hinge + vintage photo before they were glued into the journal.

A few scribbles and lines were drawn to finish.

Colour Outside The Lines

Hello! We have had a really busy week here at Visible Image… lots of planning and designing going on!!!
More on that soon 😉

Meantime, Dot Leathbridge is here with some fabulous inspiration this evening…

Outside The Lines is one of the latest sentiment stamps from Visible Image…

For the background on this card I’ve had fun with green and red distress inks. Normally these colours go muddy when they are combined … I was lucky this time!

Some background stamping, a little embossing and some doodling completed the look that I was after.

To finish, the words from the sentiment ‘Outside The Lines’ was kept very plain. This is to give a greater contrast to the background.

Stamps used:

Feel The Beat
