Create Your Imagination – Gesso Image Transfer – Visible Image stamps

Hello 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

Kim Johnny our US Design Team member is here with an awesome project this evening…

Hello!

I hope your day is fantastic and leads to a fantastic week!

Before I share my ‘canvas’ with you today, I want to share a quick link to Visible Image’s NEW wonderful Christmas stamps. They are timeless and elegant and will last many years to come. I hope you will pop over and see (and order 🙂 )!

Today as promised here is my ‘canvas’ to share. The substrate is cardboard from a recycled shipping box panel.

Lots of pictures, I really love texture and think I got a bit carried away with it on this one 🙂

I coated both sides of the canvas with DecoArt White Gesso.  On top of that I added some stenciled patterns using DecoArt Modelling Paste. I let the whole board dry overnight.

Once it was dry, I covered it with another layer of gesso, sort of a thick layer. I used a laser printed copy of one of my own photographs, the dandelions, and placed it face down into the gesso.

My blog post with the original photograph is HERE

I pressed it down into the gesso by hand and did some more smoothing with a bone folder. I wanted to make sure I got the whole image pressed into the wet gesso. I let it dry overnight again.

Once dry I misted the surface with water then started rubbing off the paper.

Once the image was clear and slightly distressed, I covered the dandelions with a layer of Americana Decoupage Crystal Glitter to seal it. It adds a nice fine sparkle with one layer and helped the main image to stay clear for all the next layers of paint and ink.

The borders all around are built up with layers of DecoArt Crackle paste, Antiquing Cream and various DecoArt acrylics. The majority of the color comes from the English Red Oxide Antiquing Cream layered with alcohol inks.

I used the “Create Your Imagination” sentiment by Visible Image in the This is Me set. The diamonds are cut from the background stamp, Grunge Harlequin. Love the size of both these stamps!

Hello…

Another week has passed and it is Saturday again which means I am back  with some inspiration using the gorgeous Visible Image stamps.

I have used my Brusho’s today for my background, I am still trying to get the hang of them but am quite happy with the effect.I have teamed up “Butterfly INKognito” and “Create your Imagination”

Create Your Imagination – Visible Image stamps

Hi, thanks for visiting our blog today 🙂

It’s a late post from us today, been a crazy busy day of stamp making and packaging here, but work is done for the day and we are about to chill out and watch some TV! First though, we just have to share Kim Bacon’s awesome new inspiration with you! Over to Kim…

Today I am showcasing one of the incredibly versatile stamps from the Visible Image EXPRESS YOURSELF range.
This one is from the This is Me set.

I have used an embossing folder on this one with a bark effect.Started as always by creating the background. This involved Brusho, when doesn’t it these days? I used a little of the powder colour mixed with a little water and painted it onto a good quality watercolour card. When it was dry I used the tip only of a broad flat headed brush to add little strands of orange and green. It reminds me of saffron in a way.  I then passed the dry piece of card through the embosser using a tree bark texture plate. Afterwards I swiped a clear embossing ink over the raised areas and embossed using clear powder. It makes the texture show up more.

In keeping with the texture on the background I used a little corrugated strip with a faux buckle to add interest.
The sentiment was stamped on piece of card which had been coloured with the same shades of Brusho but in an ombre way which was then splashed with water.

Imagine. Create. Visible Image stamps.

Hello again! Happy Saturday to you 🙂  Hope you have a great evening planned.

Over to Amber for today’s second dose of awesome Visible Image inspiration…

Today I wanted to share a page out of my watercolor art journal.  I started by watercoloring my background.  Next I used stencils to sponge and spritz some polkadots.  Then I went crazy with stamps! I used six different Visible Image stamps.  I especially love how the plaid background stamp looks on art journal pages.  And how awesome is that sentiment stamp!? Love it!
