Trio of Christmas Cards

Hello and Happy Friday to you! Wow this week has flown by, it’s been so busy so we are really looking forward to some rest this weekend.. hope you will have some chill out time too! We have Judy Rozema here on the blog today with a trio of gorgeous Christmas cards featuring stamps from our latest release…

Hello everyone!

Today I am sharing some projects made with the newly released Christmas stamps and stencils.

First up is the fabulous INKED HOLLY, one of the new mini stamp sets.

holly stamp | christmas card

I made a watercolor background using Peeled Paint and Crushed Olive DOX inks, and loosely colored my holly with Karin markers. Some extra holly berries (glitter enamel dots) and gold metallic thread are my embellishments. I spattered black ink to finish off the look.

Next up is the beautiful SCRIBBLED STAR. I absolutely love this one. Not only can you use it for Christmas, but it makes a great celebratory card, say for a birthday, too!

star stamp | shaker card

I made a shaker card, stamping the image in Hero Arts Intense Black ink, and then outlined some of the letters and star with a yellow Posca paint pen.

I added my shaker mix of stars and beads. For the frame, I used the stars from the new ICONIC CHRISTMAS stencil, with Simon Hurley’s Sike! ink.

My third card today uses the beautiful SIMPLY SNOWFLAKES and a sentiment from the previously released SENTIMENTAL CHRISTMAS.

I used the emboss resist technique on this one, to give the impression of swirling snowflakes. I stamped my snowflakes with Versamark ink, and then embossed with White Detail Embossing Powder. I then painted a background using Tumbled Glass DOX ink.

A trio of sequins adds dimension and sparkle to finish the main card panel. I backed it with some shimmer card stock in a complementary blue shade, and used white as the card base.

Wow 3 absolutely stunning cards Judy! We’re loving how different they all are… the grungy feel of the holly card, the vibrancy and shine of the star card and subtle beauty of the snowflakes. Thank you

Christmas Eve | Stencil & Stamps

Hello! We hope you are doing ok. Lynda Hall is on the blog today with a fantastic Christmas card created with our NEW ‘Christmas Eve’ stencil which works wonderfully with our Christmas Eve stamp set…

It’s time for my fortnightly share for Visible Image and this week we on the DT are all feeling festive because the NEW Christmas stamps and stencils have been released and they are AMAZING!

I love to create scenes on my cards, and the Christmas Eve stencil is so perfect for this. I am afraid I got so carried away getting inky that I failed a little on the step by step photos, but I will explain my method.

I started with a piece of blank card, and used Black Soot Distress ink and the stencil to create rows of buildings. I faded them out towards the back rows to add a sense of dimension.  I then re inked rows on another piece of card, as I wanted to layer them up for more depth.

Using the cut away part of the stencil to cover the top row, I applied blue inks to the top half to create a sky. To create the moon I applied darker ink around a die cut circle.

I then stamped the sleigh from the Christmas Eve stamp set, and added stars and embossed snowflakes. White splatters added to the snowy feel, and I used a gel pen to add highlights.

I added lights to the buildings with a paint pen, and edged the roof line with puffy snow and glitter for some added sparkle. I built up the layers with 3D glue gel and added the sentiment from the Santa Claus set, and a message inside using the Sentimental Christmas set.

Supplies

christmas eve stencil | sleigh | roof tops

Christmas stamps | trees | sleigh | roof tops | stars

santa claus stamp | chimney | boot prints | naught nice list

I really love how the new release links so well with last years Christmas stamps. It really does mean the possibilities are endless!

This card is awesome! The layered buildings look amazing, such wonderful depth and the snow looks great! Beautiful sky too. Thank you Lynda ♡

Christmas Stamps | Scribbled Star

Hi there! Gosh it has been such a crazy time here, but we are finally catching up with ourselves and we are back to continue sharing some of the incredible samples made with our NEW Christmas stamps and stencils! Up next is Jane Tyrrell with a stunning card featuring our ‘Scribbled Star’ stamp with our fabulous NEW ‘Christmas Eve’ stencil…

Good morning

Today I am delighted to be blogging my first sample using the new Visible Image Christmas stamps and stencils. You can check out all the fabulous newbies here.  This is a perfect range to compliment their existing Christmas stamps, and they are so affordable at just £5.99 each!

For my first make I decided to make a mixed media card.

This is what I got up to;

I made an inky background by pressing these distress inks onto my craft mat, adding some spritzes of water and then dipping in my card, drying between layers.

I applied crackle texture paste through the stencil and left to dry. You will see the crackle in the final photos, the photo below is when it is wet. When the crackle was dry I painted it with gold metallic paint which again you can see in the final photos.

I stamped the star onto gold card in black Versafine and clear embossed. I then cut out the centre of the star stamp.

I stamped and embossed the star a second time onto the inky background below the stenciled sentiment and then stuck on the cut out gold star using foam tape to raise it slightly.  Using gold ink I repeat stamped the tiny starts from the O Christmas tree set.

I then matted it up using blue and black card onto a 7″  square white card blank. Here is my finished card;

star stamp | christmas card

with some close ups..

and one final shot..

Products used

grungy star stamp | scribbled | christmas

the sentiment from the Christmas Eve stencil

christmas eve stencil | sleigh | houses

and the tiny stars from O Christmas Tree stamp set

christmas tree stamp | contemporary | brush

These gorgeous new Christmas stamps and stencils lend themselves to any card making style from mixed media to clean and simple.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Bye for now,

Jane x

Wow what a stunner! The sentiment looks amazing, especially against your distress background. Wonderful design! Thank you Jane ♡

Christmas Stamps | Inked Holly

Hello! Wow where has the time gone since we last blogged! We have lots of catching up to do… we are releasing some amazing new Christmas stamps and stencils which are available to pre-order now and they are already incredibly popular (thank you!). Our Design Team are having a lot of fun creating samples and we are excited to start sharing them here on the blog. We are starting with an awesome mixed media card by Heather Mitchell featuring our Inked Holly stamp and more…

Hey everyone…

How is everyone?  Hope you’re all good.

Hands up who’s seen the new Christmas stamps and stencils for Visible Image yet?!  Oh my… aren’t they fabulous?!  I love the grungy mixed media sets (endless possibilities) and the stencils give you those two classy ‘Christmas’ titles as well as that cute bauble!

I have been beavering away behind the scenes creating some samples for Helen and Mark and this was one of my first…

holly stamp | grungy | mixed media | Christmas stamps

I adore the Inked Holly stamp. I’ve always loved a good holly and ivy stamp but the take Mark has put on this is  fabulous!  So, I began by making my typical inky, drippy background using Distress Oxide Sprays (Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass) and after leaving to dry, I added the white heat embossed segments of the stamp around the edges.

I then had a brainwave to use one of the music stamps, Music Speaks, to add the music as I was humming ‘The Holly and the Ivy’ whilst making this! (You are too now, right?!)  For the music I used  Versafine Clair’s Morning Mist ink pad and wiped any excess off the white heat embossed image.

To add some texture to the background, I used the Mesh It Up stencil.  I have a few little Liquid Pearl bottles that I rarely use and thought they would look fabulous through the stencil.  Having squished a good lot of the Platinum Pearl out onto my glass mat, I added the medium using a palette knife and left to air dry.

The central focal point of the layered stamp was super easy to make.  After die-cutting a circle in watercolour card, I added Distress Spray Stains (not Oxides!) to create a watery effect.  I used the same colours as before but obviously you get slightly different colours because they’re not oxides.  Once completely dry, I heat embossed the stamp using WOW!’s Metallic Platinum powder and then three times more onto a separate sheet of watercolour card.

The leaves and berries are coloured using my Arteza watercolour brush pens and I’ve then given all three a spritz of Tattered Angels ‘Pretty Pink’ Glimmer Mist.  Once dry, I’ve fussy cut each one out of the main stamp and layered the holly leaves at a slight angle to each other using foam tape adding Ranger’s Glossy Accents to the top berries.  Then I  added some red cheesecloth behind the die-cut to break up the background.

Before adding to the card, I drew around the edge of the die-cut (and the background) using the WOW! Freestyle Tool added the same platinum powder.

This stamp is perfect for creating mixed media Christmas cards and tags but you could simply stamp it in one colour and colour it for bright and gorgeous Christmas tags or cards.  So versatile!

Products Used

holly stamp | grungy | Christmas

music stamp | guitar | sound wave

All the Christmas stamps and stencils are available to pre-order now and are released on Friday 18th September… so plenty of time for all that Christmas crafting!

Peace Love and Hope

Hi there! We are back (as promised!) with more beautiful Christmas inspiration. Here’s Nicky Gilburt…

I’m sharing a card today that I made with Visible Image’s gorgeous Christmas designs.

The words on this Peace, Love, Hope stamp set are beautiful, arranged in a really stunning font which has just the right amount of swirl, and the images to fit in the inky circle…oh my goodness!

For the background I stamped the musical notation from the Music Speaks set:

I used Distress Oxide inks and silver embossing powder on this card, as well as the few obligatory sequins! It is Christmas after all, well, soon!

I’m sure that you’ll agree – Visible Image do Christmas their way!

Happy crafting!
Nicky

We adore this card Nicky, it’s absolutely gorgeous and loving the music notes in the background too ♡

Snowflake Sparkle

Hello! We have lots of awesome inspiration coming your way here on the Visible Image blog today.

First up, we have some super stunning Christmas inspiration from Pauline Butcher…

Hi there,

It’s Fabulous Friday, and it’s Visible Image day, so here’s a very quick Christmas card I made, using the beautiful Snow is Falling stamp set.

The background was created using Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, and a pink and purple Mica spray, and left to dry.

I then stamped all the stamps from the set with Versamark, and heat embossed with White Puff Twinkle Embossing Powder from Wow…. easy !!!!

Unfortunately the photo doesn’t show you all the shine and sparkle.

Thanks for visiting.

Hugs, Pauline xxxx

Christmas Can Be Tough Sometimes…

Good Evening, thanks for visiting our blog today.

When we lose a loved one, Christmas can be a very difficult time and it can be hard to know whether to send a traditional Christmas card, and ‘Merry Christmas’ just isn’t really appropriate. So Helen wrote a special sentiment for those ‘hard to write’ Christmas cards.

We have some beautiful inspiration for you from Jane Tyrrell today featuring this Christmas sentiment stamp…

Monday has spun round again and it’s time for my Visible Image DT inspiration.
Today I am focusing on the gorgeous new Christmas stamp release and designing with 2 sets;

The very poignant Christmas Memories stamp…

which I thought went perfectly with the silhouette angel image from the Angels set

As you may know, I am Mrs Christmas and adore everything about it. However I do understand that for some people this can be a very difficult time of the year. Particularly when they have recently lost someone they love. That first Christmas afterwards, I know from my own experience, is very tough. I sell my cards at Dotty’s Tearooms in our local high street and I thought this card would be a helpful extra to sell there this year.

My design also uses the Strobes stencil (these are all back in stock in the shop). I think it makes a great sun/star burst and used it in the background of my card…

So this is what I made…

I kept my colour very upbeat and simple.

I gold embossed the angel word and added some gold to the border.

I blended distress inks through the stencil. I wanted the angel to be more of a shadow and I achieved this by using a gold metallic ink. The sentiment is stamped and embossed.

Here she is in close up, in real life she has a shimmery gold effect…

Thanks so much for visiting today. It is only 84 days until the big day and I am getting myself into Christmas card making mode now that the evenings are getting darker.

Time to light those candles…

Back soon.

Bye for now,
 Jane x

This is such a stunning card, thank you Jane ♡

Peace Love and Hope

Hello! We are back with more awesome inspiration for you here on the blog today. Veerle Moreels not only has some stunning Christmas inspiration to share with you, but a brilliant tutorial video too…

So… Christmas is coming… OMG Christmas is coming!

Somewhere a long long time ago I challenged myself to go and make one Christmas card a month. One simple plain card a month and… I made two so far (start the blushing).

I have to be honest… I don’t like the cold winters, I don’t like snow, and although I do love Christmas and the family time it brings, I don’t like making the Christmas cards either. So just like any other year, I think I’ll get in trouble when it comes in sending out my cards in time. Or just maybe, when I start right now, maybe I’ll be able to end the year without the stress?

So I need: perseverance, a knock on my head and a kick in the butt, and some good stamps that make creating easy.

And guess what ^.^ I have this one set from Visible Image that got me into making 5 gift tags.

Just one set… and 5 gift tags at the end of the video ^.^

Stamps used:

Peace Love and Hope

Veerle these are absolutely stunning!
Thank you for your fantastic tutorial video too ♡

An Angel for all Seasons

Good Evening! We are back with some fabulous Christmas inspiration from Pauline Butcher this evening…

Hi again,

It’s fabulous Friday and time for me to share some Visible Image inspiration, today it’s a Christmas card, made with some awesome stamps…

The stamps I used were…

Angels

Seasons Greetings sentiment from Go to Christmas Words set

and the background stars are from Rock Out

The background is watercolour card, with Brusho’s sprinkled onto it, with a fair amount of water spritzed over, and left to dry.

I stamped all the background elements using Distress Oxide inks, I heat embossed the Angel using white embossing powder, the star with Gold powder, and both sentiments using Black. I highlighted with a white pen, to make things pop off the card.

Thanks for popping in.
Hugs, Pauline xxxxx

The Magic of Christmas

Hello there! We have some gorgeous Christmas inspiration here on the blog today from Elina Stromberg…

Hi and Happy Sunday!

Christmas may still seem to be far ahead, but actually now it is the perfect time to start thinking about Christmas cards. Especially if you want to make the cards yourself, enjoy the creative process and to avoid the hassle of creating the cards in the middle of other Christmas preparations. I started my Christmas card project with these two simple inked cards:

For these simple designs you don’t need too many supplies: For colouring and stamping the backgrounds I only used one blue Distress ink colour, ‘Faded Jeans’. Starting from the top of the card I inked my white cardstock panel using an ink blending tool and a few simple hand-cut, mountain shaped paper masks. For stamping the words and the flying reindeer I used black VersaFine ink.

The white star is stamped and heat-embossed with white embossing powder. For the little white stars I used white heavy embossing powder: I sprinkled the powder flakes on the card, and heat set them by heating the card from underneath. Especially when using water-soluble Distress inks I prefer using white embossing powder for making tiny white splash marks, as a thin white paint will absorb the ink colour, and the end-result will not be bright white. White embossing powder will give you a pure white colour.

The new Visible Image Christmas stamp sets are so very inspirational. The hand-written text stamps are my true favourites, hope you will get inspired, too!

For more information on the Visible Image stamps I used, please click on the pictures below:

Wishing you a wonderful week. Thanks for stopping by!

Visibly Christmas

Hi there! We have some super gorgeous Christmas inspiration for you this evening from Nicky Gilburt…

Today I’m sharing a card I made with the fantastic Visible Image Christmas stamp set ‘Snow is Falling’

I used all of the elements from the set on an inky background made up of Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserve Distress Oxide, smooshed around my cardstock with acetate and dried, and then stamped over with the same colour Distress Inks.

In the background I stamped the sentiment several times, and the smaller snowflake. Then I dried my cardstock with my heat gun, wiped over it with my anti-static bag, and stamped the largest snowflake with Versamark, so that I could heat emboss it with white embossing powder.

I then added more detail, a few small snowflakes, the sentiment, and the falling snow, all heat embossed with the white powder again. Once mounted onto white card, it definitely needed a sparkly background to complete the card, plus a few sequins of course!

Look closely at the snowflake and you will see that as a finishing touch I squeezed white glitter glue all over it, because at Christmas you can not have enough sparkle!

This is the stamp set:

I am sure you will agree this is Christmas –  Visible Image style!

September’s Visible Image challenge theme is.. Distressed! Be sure to add your make to the album in the Facebook group to be in with a chance of winning a fabulous coupon to spend in the Visible Image shop!

Happy crafting!

The stamp set I used is Leave your Fears

I used Brusho’s on the background, sprinkling and spritzing, then holding the tag on it’s side to drip down. I stamped using Versamark ink, and heat embossed with Black EP. The sentiment was heat embossed onto a small piece of card, again after Brusho’s had been dripped down it. The Viscose ribbon ( American Seam Binding) was coloured using Distress Inks. Simple, I hope you’ll give it a go.

See you soon,
Hugs, Pauline xxxxx

Kim Johnny

Hello!

The weather finally feels chilly here, funny since about a week ago it was way above average and so hot!

So continuing with my wondeful Wintery tags for Visible Image, I have “Baby it’s cold outside”, today!

I sort of made my own Wintery set here, I used stamps from three different sets:
all 100% amazing Visible Image, “Baby It’s Cold”“White Christmas” and “Rockin Around”.

Visible Image stamps - Baby It's Cold - Kim Johnny

The background was created using various acrylic paints on my homemade gelatin plate.

Visible Image stamps - Baby It's Cold - Kim Johnny 2

The snowflakes and sentiment were stamped directly onto the tag using Wow Opaque Bright White powder. The “Rockin'” tree was embossed with Wow Metallic Silver Ultra High. The Ultra High makes such an amazing texture, love it! I used a Perfect Medium pen to scribble the icicles and embossed in the same Opaque Bright White.

Visible Image stamps - Baby It's Cold - Tag - Kim Johnny

To add more depth and “chill” I randomly added some UTEE clear all over the tag.

I am freezing now, yikes! Time for some hot chocolate, yum 🙂

Keep warm & cool where ever you may be!

Oh I love working with these Visible Image stamps! This flower from the INKognito range is just amazing.

Visible Image stamps - Imperfection is Beauty - Inky Flower stamp - Kim Bacon

The background is from remnants for a BIGGER Visible Image project which I am keeping under wraps for the moment. I first coloured some white card with Brusho paints and then applied a very dry layer of white gesso. For half of the card I then stamped the circles from the universal set and coloured some of them in with red Brusho. Another dry brushing with gesso before stamping and embossing in black with the sentiment and the flower. Each piece was then machine sewn onto black card.

I go for green today! I love the beauty of a clean card. The background is made with 4 different green distress inks. Then the mask and sentiment are stamped on top with black ink pad. To frame it I draw a line with a black thin marker. And yes – I used a ruler!

Christmas Magic and Sparkle @ Visible Image

Good Morning!

We are here to brighten up this damp dismal day with some gorgeously sparkly inspiration from Teresa Morgan to get us in the festive mood! We’d also like to wish all our followers in the US a very Happy Thanksgiving 🙂

Over to Teresa…

Hello and welcome back to another Thrilling Thursday post for Visible Image stamps. I’m back in a festive mood again this week and have a super sparkly Christmas card to share with you..

Visible Image stamps - Believe in the Magic of Christmas - Teresa Morgan

I began by stamping the large ‘sparkle’ stamp all over the background and embossing with Sparkling Snow WOW embossing powder. I then used one of the Drag and Drip stamps to create my icicles, embossing with Atlantic Seaspray and Sparkling Snow embossing powders. I cut these out, adding a strip of gold pearl card before mounting on 3d foam.

Visible Image stamps - Drag and Drip

The sentiment is stamped and embossed with gold embossing powder before die cutting into an oval. I then covered the oval with Versamark ink and holographic embossing powder for a magical rainbow sparkle.

Merry Christmas – Visible Image stamps

Good Evening! It’s ‘Fabulous Friday’ which means the very fabulous Pauline Butcher is here to inspire you here on the Visible Image blog…

Hello,

I had a fabulous time at the NEC on the Visible Image Stand, thank you to those who came and got inky with me, I met so many lovely Crafters.

Today I’d like to share with you, another Christmas card, created using some gorgeously unique Visible Image Stamps.

2015-11-12 - Visible-Image-stamps-Merry Christmas-Poinsettia-Pauline Butcher 2

The stamps used are…

I stamped the sentiment in different coloured Distress inks, to form the background, going over some of it with a quickie glue pen and glitter, which unfortunately doesn’t show on my photo.

I stamped the Poinsettia with Versamark, onto vellum, and heat embossed with a Red sparkle EP, and fussy cut, the leaves were done in the same way, but using Green sparkle EP. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed onto white card, again using the red sparkle EP.

I cut a length of acetate, and made a band around the card topper, a little longer than the topper, so’s that it arched off the card, onto which I attached the finished flower and the sentiment, with 3D glue gel, to give dimension.

Rockin’ Around @ Visible Image

Hi There! Happy Saturday 🙂 Hope you are having a good weekend.

We have some fantastic Christmas inspiration for you today from Susanne Rose…

It’s my day today to share some inspiration with the super unique Visible Image Stamps.

I used the super modern “Rockin’ arround” set on this card. I embossed the main image and the sentiment with gold powder on white cardstock and cut everything out. As the embossing acts as a resist I was able to color the background of my sentiment with Distress Ink “Forest Moos”. The cardbase is from DCWV. The star die is from Noor! Design.

Design. Der Kartenrohling ist von von DCWV.

Christmas Pocket Letter – Visible Image Stamps

Good Morning! Thank you for paying us a visit today.

We have lots of great projects to share with you today, so let’s get started! Susanne Rose is our German DT member, and we will be sharing her write ups in both languages as we have many wonderful customers over in Germany 🙂

Here’s Susanne…

It’s my day today to share some inspiration with the super unique Visible Image Stamps. I have recently made a few Pocket Letters,  I don’t trade them because it’s too stressy to organise! I use them to surprise some of my friends from time to time. Maybe I should give Project Life a try, because I love creating pocket pages.. It doesn’t always have to be a Pocket Letter.

2015-10-19 Visible Image stamps - Christmas Pocket Letter - Poinsettia - Susanne Rose

I started with a piece of watercolor cardstock that measures 7.5″ (3 x 2.5″) and 10.5″ (3 x 3.5″). I took the lovely snowflake stamp from the White Christmas set and stamped it with Versamark on top of my background. I embossed it with white powder and colored the background with Neocolor II watercolor crayons. The embossing acts a a resist. To add some more interest I used the script and the ornament stamp from the Revolution set and stamped them randomly with black ink. Now it was time to cut it into 9 pieces!

The poinsettias are colored with Pearlescent watercolors. I used the icicles and winter die from Noor! Design. The christmas tree is a die from Marianne Design.

Der Weihnachtsstern ist mit Pearlescent Wasserfarben koloriert. Die Eiszapfenbordüre und der Winter-Schriftzug sind von Noor! Design. Der Weihnachtsbaum ist eine Stanze von Marianne Design.

My focus lies on the “Dreaming of a White Christmas” Sentiment. The snowflake on the right hand side is a Sizzix die.

Der Fokus liegt auf dem Spruch “Dreaming of a White Christmas“. Die Schneeflocke auf der rechten Seite ist von Sizzix.

I love the winter house from Marianne Design. It is so cute on winter projects. The Winter border, the tree and the lantern are also dies from Marianne Design.

Das Winterhaus von Marianne Design finde ich total bezaubernd. Ebenso gut passen die anderen Stanzteile (alle ebenfalls von Marianne Design) dazu.

I hope you like my pocket letter. I wish you a nice day!

Ich hoffe mein Pocket Letter hat Euch gefallen.

Christmas stamps @ Visible Image

Good Evening! Thank you for visiting our blog today 🙂

We are catching up with some more of the latest work from our wonderful team. We have some fantastic Christmas projects to share with you today featuring some of our NEW designs for 2016…

Teresa Morgan

2015-09-05 Visible Image stamps - Believe In The Magic Of Christmas - Teresa Morgan

My mind is still turning towards Christmas and this week I have gone for a non-traditional colour combination.

I used the star stamp from the Universal set and randomly stamped and embossed using Versamark ink and red, yellow and green embossing powders.

I stamped the Magic of Christmas sentiment with Versamark and sprinkled red and yellow embossing powder to create a stripe effect. I love the way that the colours pop from the black background – just remember to check that your embossing powders are opaque when using a dark background…these are from WOW powders!

Lisa Nygards

2015-09-05 Visible Image stamps - Merry Christmas - Lisa Nygards

I have a hard time thinking about Christmas already, but infact I like to make Christmas Cards. Don’t know how that goes around… lol. Today I have made a card for Visible Image, and used their awsome sentense Merry Christmas XL. Yes – it is BIG! I like that, it gets total focus.

I’ve used a brown distress ink pad, but before I stamped I misted it with water to get the sentense a bit ”softer”. Then, before it dried I covered it with clear embossing powder. I was probably a bit slow, since I missed a few spots that was already dry. But I think it adds texture and life and it feels a bit old.

Karen Liddle

I inked through a Memory Box Stencil, then heat embossed the Magic of Christmas sentiment stamp in silver.  This made a nice quick card.

2015-09-05 Visible Image stamps - Merry Christmas - Snowflake Tag - Susanne Rose

Today I’m sharing some more inspiration with the super unique Visible Image Stamps. I’d like to show you some of the new Christmas Stamps from Visible Image. The snowflake is wonderful and the Merry Christmas sentiment looks so precious!

My base is a tag which is primed with black Gesso. After it was dry I added some white PanPastel color to let it look like a chalk board. This will also work with normal white chalk. The snowflakes and the sentiment from the White Christmas set are stamped with a white pigment ink. I love it, that the white is not 100% opak. That give it a real chalk board look. It’s also possible to work with white embossing powder, but that doesn’t look so real.

Kim Johnny

2015-09-06 Visible Image stamps - Rockin Around - Christmas Tree - Kim Johnny

Today I want to share an art tag I made for Visible Image stamps using the awesome Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree stamp set, new for 2015.

I went all vintage tones using DecoArt Crackle, Decoupage Paper medium, Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Distress Spray ink and various alcohol inks.

The Distress Spray made a nice shimmer on the trees. It is stamped using Fern Green Archival ink.

I used DecoArt Crackle medium on top of some papers I had layered for the bottom of the tag using Decoupage Paper medium.

I added some alcohol inks to highlight the cracks once dry. The tag is edged with Potting Soil Archival Ink.

Thank you so much ladies, awesome work as always 🙂

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas Card – Visible Image stamps

Good Evening! Sorry we have been missing in action here on the blog these last few days, it has been another crazy week for us here at Visible Image! So many stamps to be made for our fantastic customers 🙂

So we will be catching up with all the latest cards and projects from the team! And wow do we have some stunners to inspire you!!!

We will start off with a brilliant tutorial from Kim Robertson, showing how with just one of our NEW Christmas stamp sets, some inks and a gold pen, you can create an absolutely stunning card…

Hi my lovlies,

Hope all is well this week , today I gave myself a little challenge , I decided to limit myself to one stamp set from the gorgeous new Christmas range from Visible Image so I chose The Merry Little Christmas set. Then I decided to keep to one colourway just a few tones of it. I really enjoy doing things like that and sometimes it can give you more inspiration by limiting how much you can choose.

So here is today’s card.

2015-09-05 Visible Image stamps - Merry Little Christmas - Contemporary Tree stamp - Kim Robertson

Definitely something a little different and almost whimsical don’t you think.

So My usual tutorial begins here and I hope you will have a go , it is as complicated or easy as you want it to be, you certainly can leave out any of the fiddly steps and simplify it if you would like a quicker card to do.

So using the little Christmas tree swirl I stamped it three times on white paper with the Adirondack ink Meadow.

Using the same stamp and Lettuce ink pad stamp the swirl again , slightly offset the three trees as I have here in the picture.

Next using a darker green  Archival Ink pad stamp the swirl again but this time in the centre to give the rounded shape of a Xmas tree.

Once you have got the basic shape using the swirl and different green inks you can take a gel en in white and doodle a pattern onto the tree, I went for a sort of ear garland wrapped around the tree branches.

Next Using a gold gel pen I added some droplets to the branches, just a few gold dots in varying sizes made these.

Using a cold grey 2 promarker I went around the decor with the pen creating a shadow in the tree.

I also added a litte cross hatch sketching to a few of the corners to give it that artsy feel.
Using a quickie glue pen and some glitter I added this to all the shadows.

Of course you all know you cannot get the full sparkle on camera whatever you do but here is a litte peep at the gleam lol.

Cut to size and ink the edges ready to go as your topper for the rest of the card once complete.

I took a larger piece of card and using the swirl stamp again added the three colours and over lapped some of the colours etc. I used the inks and blended the edges so it isn’t so stark white at the edges.

I added  the extras exactly as I did on the tree section we made together so here you can see some of the cross hatch sections and some of the white highlights and the gold little dots in a little garland pattern. You can also see that I added that same grey alcohol marker in sections.

I added the whole piece onto a mat of very dark aubergine card, I really do love this card and it goes fab with the greens in the inks.

Ok, so next I stamped the sentiment from the set in Black momento ink so we can go very close with the alcohol marker to give the letters a shadow, we also need to add a little highlight on the letters too and then of course mat the whole piece on that same dark card.

So adding everything back together here is the the finished piece again.

2015-09-05 Visible Image stamps - Merry Little Christmas - Contemporary Tree stamp - Kim Robertson

Of course what’s a tree without something sparkly and pretty on the top..?

2015-09-05 Visible Image stamps - Merry Little Christmas - Contemporary Tree stamp - Kim Robertson 1

Here is another view which picks up a little sparkle on the tree.

So the fabulous Stamp set I used for this one from Visible Image was…

Merry Little Christmas

So I hope you enjoyed today’s card and you will have a go at limiting yourself and just see what you can come up with, sometimes if your creativometer is running a little low this gives a boost and kick starts the old brain juices into action again.

On to some exciting news… I will be at Ally Pally this month on the 19th and 20th, on the hugely popular Visible Image stand doing make and takes for both days, and I will also be in the tent doing some demo’s on each day so I hope you will come down and say hello and join us on the table to see what quality these stamps made by Mark and Helen truly are. I cannot wait to meet you all if you can get down to the show and have a good old chit chat and a craft together, it will be AWESOMMME. Huge Thanks to Helen and Mark for asking me to join them for the weekend, what an honour…. Thanks guys. xx

Have a wonderful weekend.

Huge hugs from me to you

More Awesome Inspiration @ Visible Image

Hi There! We are back as promised with more awesome inspiration for you from our wonderful team..

Susanne Rose has created some fabulous postcards…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - mixed media postcards - Susanne Rose 2

It’s my day today to share some inspiration with the super unique Visible Image Stamps. I made two mixed media postcards using Neoccolor II pencils and gesso for the background. I used the script stamp from the Revolution set to add some texture. The doodling is made with acrylic markers as well as uniPOSCA markers. It’s always good to have some postcards ready to go! I am a big fan of the Visible Image expression stamps. They are perfect for cards and also for art journalling and they are so true!

Stamps used:

Revolution
Take The Moment
Never Give Up

Doreen OBrien has created a wonderful Christmas card with lots of different elements…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Snowflakes & Butterflies verse - Doreen OBrien

I am back with some more inspiration using the gorgeous Visible Image stamps. I am sharing another  Christmas card using the fabulous “Snowflakes and Butterflies” verse

I have simply stamped this onto some cream card, inked around the edge and attached it to some Frayed Burlap, this was then attached to some red card and my base card. I finished off with a Diecut Fir Tree.

And here’s a fabulous Christmas card from Karen Liddle…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - White Christmas - Snowflakes - Karen Liddle

I used Distress Inks for the background, blended with sponges.  Colours used are Dusty Concord, Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry.  I also splashed drops of water over the ink and dabbed off, this removes the colour and creates white spots, love doing this.

Stamps used:
Bronte Script and White Christmas

Now for a very funky tag from Kim Johnny…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Imagine - Tag - Kim Johnny 2

Visible Image very recently released some wonderful Holiday stamps and I am feeling lucky to have received some to play with 🙂 I am not quite ready for the Holiday Season, so I have an alternate use for the beautiful
Sparkle at Christmas set.

I used the bigger sparkle from the Sparkle at Christmas set to frame the “Imagine” focal point badge. Imagine is from the Imagine Dream & Inspire set. Love the sparkle set it is so flexible and can be used so many ways! The stamping and embossing are wonderful as well, makes playtime a breeze! The top of the tag is capped with the Retro Dots Background stamp.

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Imagine - Tag - Kim Johnny

I included and extra photo here to show more of the embossing, I am sooooo hooked on embossing. It adds such a fun and perfect touch. This is also the first time I have used some Lindy’s Stamp Gang embossing powder in Razzleberry Plum. Change the angle and the color of the EP changes too. Awesomeness! Now I need more, many more, colors of Lindy’s 🙂 I had to add some juicy fun dots from the Plasma set in Razzleberry Plum around the edges.

Kim Bacon was also feeling funky this week! With awesome results…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Rockin Around - Christmas Tree - Kim Bacon

Today I have decided to do something a little ‘shocking’ in that I have used some funky colours with jet black shiny embossing powder. Not the usual Christmas colours I know but that is where my crafting session took me!

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Rockin Around - Christmas Tree - Kim Bacon 1

I went with the usual thing, make a lot of background papers using Brusho paints and stamped directly onto them with black embossing powder.

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Rockin Around - Christmas Tree - Kim Bacon 2

Matting and layering with red card and adding a few brads finish the projects off.
Stamps used:
Rockin’ Around
Grunge Polka Dot

Lisa Nygards has a brilliant masculine card for us this week…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Jazz It Up - Lisa Nygards 2

No Christmas cards from me today. I’ve tried to do a more masculine card, even though I’ve used flowers and dolies. *smile* I have used the character from Jazz it Up and the sentense from Thank You set

I stamped the images on a page from an old German book (have no idea what it says), and mounted that on cardstock panels since it’s a bit flimsy as is.

If you love sparkle then you will love Kim Robertson’s card…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Dreaming of a white Christmas - Kim Robertson 2

I love cards like this that have a hand made background using gorgeous stamps and then all the accessories match and make you think the words are perfect which of course they definitely are. I used Momento Grey Flannel Ink and the White Christmas snowflake from the stamp set. I also used Vintage sparkle glitter for this one as I just loved the different colours in it, pinks and greens and white but all very very sparkly and pretty.

We will share Kim’s brilliant tutorial for this card over the next few days!

Teresa Morgan has created 2 completely different, and very fabulous cards using the same Christmas sentiment…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Grunge Flourish - Merry Christmas - Teresa Morgan

I love using kraft card at Christmas – it reminds me of gingerbread! I have paired the Merry Christmas stamp with the gorgeous Grunge Flourish for this first card. Both are stamped with Versamark, and embossed with WOW powders in red and white.

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Grunge Polka Dot - Merry Christmas - Teresa Morgan

My second card is less traditional. I used the Grunge Polkadot background with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and used black embossing powder on the sentiment stamp.

Stamps Used:

Merry Christmas XL
Grunge Flourish
Grunge Polka Dot

Pauline Butcher also shows how non traditional colours work gorgeously with our NEW Christmas stamps…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Sparkle At Christmas - Pauline Butcher

The stamp set on the first card is called Sparkle at Christmas

It’s right up my street, as you all know I do love a bit of bling !!!!!

Please excuse my photo, I couldn’t seem get a good image for some reason, anyway……. I started off with a shaving foam and Dylusion background, this was a second print, so it was nice a pale. I used the small burst stamp with versamark, and glitter embossing powders in various colours, then added the large burst and the sentiment in a bright blue glitter embossing powder. I decided this wasn’t enough, so I heat embossed them again onto some heat resistant acetate, fussy cut them, then attached them with glue gel. Out came my Stickles for some extra sparkle !!!!

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Merry Little Christmas - Pauline Butcher

On my second card, the stamps I used are Merry Little Christmas set, and the small flourish from Revolution.

I made the background with Dylusion Ink sprays, then using the small flourish from the Revolution set, I stamped over it using just water, and flicked some for good measure, lol !!!! I stamped the tree and the sentiment using Black ink, then stamped the tree again in blue. Once dry, I stamped the tree and sentiment again using Versamark, but slightly to the left, to give a shadow effect, then heat embossed in a white glitter embossing powder. Again I decided this was not enough, so I used some dries white glue over the main tree and the word Christmas, with some dry glitter sprinkled over it.

Susanne Rose mixes and older Christmas stamp design with NEW to create an absolute stunner…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Poinsettia stamp - Believe in the Magic of Christmas - Susanne Rose

Again I have a Christmas card for you today. I can’t stop creating Christmas themed projects, but the new Visible Image Stamps are so awesome!

My background is colored with Neocolor II watercolor crayons and the lovely snowflake from the White Christmas stamp set. I stamped it with Memento Luxe matching the background color. The sentiment is stamped with Memento Luxe as well and embossed with clear embossing powder. I cut it with the Silhouette Cameo and the Pix Scan Mat.

I love the Poinsettia!!! I fuzzy cut each stamped flower and build up some 3d poinsettias. The leaves die cut in the background are from Cottage Cutz.

Happy Christmas crafting!

Doreen OBrien has 2 more gorgeous cards to share…

2015-08-30 Visible Image stamps - Just The Way You Are - Doreen OBrien

For this card I first made a background using Distress inks then for a bit of dimension added a couple of background stamps.. Grunge Harlequin  and Bronte Script. Last of all I stamped the Sentiment from the Sunshine Set.

2015-08-30 Visible Image stamps - Merry Christmas - Winter Tree - Doreen OBrien

And for this Christmas card my background has been made with PanPastels while masking off a moon. The Winter Tree and Merry Christmas sentiment have both been clear embossed with Black Versafine ink, and I finished off using some acrylic paint for my snow.

Karen Liddle was in the green zone this week! Gold on green is stunning…

2015-08-30 Visible Image stamps - Imperfection is Beauty - Inky Flower stamp - Karen Liddle

I used Aquatints to colour the background, just one colour brushed over wet water colour card.  I did a couple of brushes across either side, leaving the middle pretty clear, the inks blended nicely in the middle.  I used a stencil for the tiny dots then used Ink Splats stamps around the edges, heat embossed the Flower Inkognito and the  Imperfection is Beauty sentiment stamp.

2015-08-30 Visible Image stamps - White Christmas sentiment - snowflake stamp - Karen Liddle

I made my own stencil for this one, just a square nestie cut through mylar.  I then inked through it with Diestress Ink, and stamped the snowflakes in the same colour.  I heat embossed the sentiment.  Only one stamp set was used which was White Christmas.

And we finish off today’s post with another fabulous funky little number from Kim Johnny…

2015-08-30 Visible Image stamps - Smile Sparkle Shine - Kim Johnny 2

I wanted to share a small project I made using my Visible Image Stamps. Lately I have been having fun making half-page canvas pieces. I love the torn edges that remain when removing it from the spiral book!

The paper is Canson Mixed Media. The flowers are Tim Holtz Tattered Floral die cuts, colored with Derwent Inktense color blocks. The scribbles are made with UniBall Signo pens.

2015-08-30 Visible Image stamps - Smile Sparkle Shine - Kim Johnny 3

I used one of my favorite sentiments, Smile Sparkle Shine from the Express Yourself range for the focal point. I added Grunge Harlequin and Retro Dots background stamps for small touches as well, stamped with Stazon Black.

Woweee! How awesome was all that?! Thank you so much ladies!

Lisa Nygards has created 2 fabulous Christmas cards…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Rockin Around - Christmas Tree - Lisa Nygards 1

Guess what? I’ve played with the brand new Christmas stamps from Visible Image this weekend! Whohooo, they are totally amazing if you like to play around with colors, papers, mixed media or whatever. My passion is spray mists and watercolors, so that is what I have for you today!

The ”rockin’ around the christmas tree” card is colored with watercolors on watercolor paper. Randomly picked and brushed on wet paper. When it was dry I splattered a tiny bit of blue on top and then stamped the tree and the sentiment. Since it’s watercolor paper with a pretty rough surface you won’t get the totally black image you’ll get on smooth paper. I think it just adds texture to the piece, but if you want it perfect black – pick a smooth paper! Stamp set is called Rockin’ Around, and you’ll find it HERE!

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Christmas Collage stamp - Lisa Nygards

Then I’ve made a pink (!) christmas card. *gasp* But isn’t it kind of cool and pretty? Once again I’ve used watercolor paper, but this time with mists in pink and grey/silver-ish. Let it dry and stamped the beautiful collage stamp ”Christmas Collage” on top. Like the other card, since it’s stamped on water color paper it adds texture to the image since the paper is a bit rough. The big snowflakes are grungeboard that I’ve painted with white gesso and added glitter to. Notice the badge in the middle of the big snowflake? It’s home made, and I’ve stamped the snowflake from the White Christmas set on a pink paper, cutted out in the right size for the badge and put it together. Think it becomes a beautiful center piece.

Now for something rather funky from Kim Robertson…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Grungy Lips - Bite Me - Kim Robertson

So I was playing with my stamps and I remembered the gorgeous lips in the Bite Me set so I decided to have some nice bright lips on a grey background.. electric blue lips would look so good here too but I chose to go for red and glittery!

We will be sharing Kim’s brilliant tutorial for this card over the weekend 🙂

Teresa Morgan has created us two gorgeous Autumnal cards…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Colours of The Wind - Tree Leaf stamp - Teresa Morgan

I have two different projects to share with you today, both using the fabulous Colours Of The Wind stamp set.

The first card uses the leaf stamp to create a beautiful background for one of the new sentiments..
I inked up the leaf stamp with several colours of Distress Inks and stamped randomly on the page before embossing with clear embossing powder. I then applied Peacock Feathers and Black Soot Distress inks over the remainder of the cardstock, wiping away any excess from the leaves (the embossing powder creates a resist). I sprinkled some water over the card to create a splodgy effect!

I coloured another piece of card with Distress inks and stamped the sentiment, then edged this and the background with gold embossing powder.

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Colours of The Wind - Tree Leaf stamp - Teresa Morgan 1

My second card uses the leaf as the focus..
I used Brushos to create the splodgy background for the leaf, then embossed with gold embossing powder. The bottom layer is coloured with Dylusions spray inks, and I stamped and embossed the sentiment in the corners.

Pauline Butcher has brought our Chandelier Set to life with stunning colour…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Chandelier Set - Stamping inspiration - Pauline Butcher

This is an Anniversary card I made 3 weeks ago, using a fabulous set of stamps from Visible Image, the Chandelier Set

I used a very old technique on this card, I won’t tell you how I did it, as I shall be using it at my next workshop, but it does make your main images pop!

Next we have a gorgeously stylish Christmas card from Susanne Rose…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Rockin Around - Christmas Tree - Susanne Rose

I used the brand new “Rockin’ Around” stamp set from Visible Image for this card. The tree and the sentiment are stamped with Memento Luxe ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. To bring some dimension to my card I added all of my layers with dimensional foam pads.

The tiny trees are cut with a die from Marianne Design. The red background is painted with Neocolor II watercolor crayons. I love this stamp set!!! It’s so modern and very funny!

And now for more gorgeousness from Doreen OBrien…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Take The Moment - Butterfly - Doreen OBrien

I am back  with some inspiration using the gorgeous Visible Image stamps. I have brayered some Acrylic paints onto some tissue then over stamped with Grunge Harlequin.

Using some PVA glue I then attached this to my board before stamping on my sentiment “Take the Moment” and  the “Large Butterfly

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - White Christmas - Snowflake stamp - Doreen OBrien

Next up I have another Christmas card… I inked up the Snowflake from the “White Christmas” set and stamped all over some white card then inked around the edge using the same colour…
I then covered another piece of white card with the distress ink and white embossed the sentiment and edge. This was then attached to the backing using foam pads.

And here are 2 very different but equally fabulous cards from Karen Liddle showing just how versatile our stamps are…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Believe in The Magic of Christmas - Karen Liddle

I inked Distress Ink ‘Evergreen Bough’, through a Memory Box stencil for the panel, and stamped one of the new Christmas Stamps Magic of Christmas

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Inky Horse stamp - Karen Liddle

And for my second card I’ve been playing with Brushos again……. still loving them!

The stamps used for this card is just one set – Revolution

Kim Johnny is loving creating Mail Art at the moment and our stamps are perfect for it…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Inky grungy stamps - Flower - Butterfly - Kim Johnny

Each postcard is just about 4 inches by 6 inches and full of mixed fun!

I used the fabulous Flower INKognito and Butterfly INKognito stamps by Visible Image.

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Inky grungy stamps - Postcards - Kim Johnny

We will be sharing Kim’s tutorial here on our blog over the weekend!

Kim Bacon has played with non traditional Christmas colours with awesome results…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Baby It's Cold - Snowflake - Kim Bacon

I deliberately went colour crazy with these! I just love the hot red which contrasts with the icy cold sentiment and the white embossing powder I used.

I started as I nearly always do by colouring some card with Brusho paint powders made into a liquid paint. A little pinch of powder in a spot of water goes a long way! I painted red, orange and yellow using a broad flat brush.

When this was dry I used the snowflake stamp with a dilute bleach solution first. Once dry I over stamped with a hot pink ink just off centre to make the image look 3D. I then added more snowflakes in red all over the card.

I stamped the sentiment onto a dark red piece of the painted card with white embossing powder before matting and layering with white card.

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Baby It's Cold - Snowflakes - Kim Bacon

The turquoise and purple card uses white embossing powder instead of bleach.  I then used 2 shades of turquoise for the other snowflakes.  I distressed the edges of the pieces of card by running my scissors down them and used a pin-wheel to give a faux stitched effect. I also used 2 sizes of white brads in the corners.

If you visit my blog often you will know that I am a frequent user of string! I love adding little knots to break up the long lines of string.

Sticking with non traditional colours, here are two more stunning Christmas cards from Lisa Nygards…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Christmas Memories verse - Lisa Nygards 1

Oh, hey, wait…. is that orange? With a touch of turquoise?
Yep! It is, and it is a christmas card!! LOL Why not? Got a crazy feeling of mixing some non traditional christmas colors and I think it become pretty nice! I’ve played with some new and some old Christmas stamps. The orange (cool huh?) card is made with brand new stamps. Snowflake is from the set called White Christmas, and the beautiful verse is called Christmas Memories.

I’ve worked on watercolor paper and just randomly dripped color from mist bottles in orange and turquoise / teal colors. Dryed and dripped again and round up with just mists of water. Continue until you like what you see… not more complicated than that.

I stamped my snowflakes and the verse and then draw a frame (line) around my square of color. Finally I added glitter glue to the snowflakes to have them sparkle.

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Christmas Collage stamp - Lisa Nygards 4

For the brownish card I actually used my spray mists as mists! It’s gold and some moss green blended. I dried it with my heat gun and stamped the Christmas Colllage on top. As the paper it’s a bit rough the image will be a bit ”distressed”, just keep that in mind! Finished it up with glitter tape and a button.

And Teresa Morgan shows that traditional ‘silver and white’ give super stunning results too…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Sparkle At Christmas - Teresa Morgan

The sun may be shining but my thoughts are turning to Christmas this week. This superb Sparkle At Christmas stamp set from Visible Image is perfect for a classically elegant card.

I stamped with Versamark ink and used Heat It Up Silver Tinsel embossing powder – I love the glittery bits….so hard to photograph though!

Pauline got funky with stamps and colour for our Mark’s Birthday last week…

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Man Inkognito - finger print - Pauline Butcher

I’m sharing a card I made recently for Mark Alexander’s Birthday! He is the designer, creator and maker of the awesome Visible Image Stamps.

I used Man INKognito, the script from Revolution, and the finger print stamp from the brilliant Drag & Drip set.

2015-08-28 Visible Image stamps - Man Inkognito - Pauline Butcher

And using some of the Visible Image sentiment stamps, from various sets, I stamped my own message !!!!

Happy Birthday from the Captain Awesome Set,
Awesome from the Jake Skates Set,
You Rock from the Max Rocks Set,
You’re entirely Bonkers from the Mad Hatter,
and Love You to Bits from the Zombie Brian Set.

Poinsettia Trinket Box created with Visible Image stamps

Good Morning! It’s another very cold and icy morning here in South Wales, hope you stay warm and cosy where you are 🙂

It’s the last Soozie Tuesday post for 2014 today, so over to Sue Joseph for some festive inspiration…

Hi Guys

It’s ‘Soozie Tooseday’ for the last time this year! Hasn’t it been and gone so quickly!

I’m ending the year with the beautiful Poinsettia stamp set £11.99 I love it <3

For my make today I made a little trinket box. Its a little mdf box that I painted in a bronze acrylic paint. Then stamped the Poinsettia flower onto red card and heat embossed in wow red glitter. For the leaves I used metallic green wow embossing powder, fussy cut them all out and layered, glued and added some spirals and yellow gems. I didn’t want the box to be too fussy.

I added a little plant pot for good measure…

Watercolour Christmas Journal Page with Visible Image stamps

Hello and thanks for visiting! Hope you’re having a good weekend 🙂
Today’s inspiration comes from the awesome Amber…

Good morning!

This week I decided to play with my Visible Image Christmas stamps in my Watercolor Art Journal.  I got my new Peerless Watercolors so I couldn’t wait to play!  I started by masking off the moon with Liquid Frisket.  Once that was dry I got busy painting the background with purples and blues.  I used my white Prang watercolor paint to lighten the bottom of the page.  You can’t see it in the picture, but I mixed the white paint with Perfect Pearls to add shimmer to the “snow”  After the background was dry, I removed the liquid frisket and stamped my Santatree, and sentiment with black pigment ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.  To finish it off I used a white pen to add snowflakes all over the page.

Poinsettia Among The Snowflakes @ Visible Image

It’s Wonderful Wednesday and we are back with our daily Design Team inspiration here on the Visible Image stamps blog!

So today it’s over to the amazing Kim Robertson…

Hi Folks

Well, hasn’t it got coldddddd, my fingers and nose actually are bright red as I am typing this they are soooo cold, Think I may invest in some fingerless gloves this year. It is also, Just for variety Raining again in Welwyn Garden City tonight. Yawn fest….

For today’s card I have used the fabulous Poinsettia stamp from Visible image as the background, and also as the main feature on this card. I kept in with the Autumnal theme but also added some Christmas snowflakes in to the mix too. See what you think ?

I love this combination of colours rustic oranges, and browns with wintery blues with lots of sparkle.

So to start I took a piece of white cardstock and my Poinsettia stamp which I am so lucky to have boy that thing has flown out of stock through Aly Paly and the Nec shows recently wow! well done Helen and Mark who have worked so hard at the shows and making all the gorgeous stamps to sell at them too, I can’t tell you how manic they have been on the build up to NEC week.

I randomly stamped it in Cornflower archival ink then I used potting shed archival and stamped the small leaf from the set randomly too. Next I took Mr Holtz’s Rusty Hinge distress and stamped some leaves first and 2nd generation stamping. Then with some perfect medium I stamped out a few leaves ad embossed them with detail clear embossing powder.

In this photo you can see I have Inked the edges of the card with weathered wood distress ink then covered the entire piece with a sheet of double sided adhesive and then sprinkled some fine glitter jewels all over , burnished it on and dusted off the excess.

Who can resist that sparkle.

Next I took Chipped Sapphire Distress ink and a bit of cut and dry and inked the edges again on top of the glitter, I have shown the technique of inking glitter on several of my shows on C&C and with these really fine glitter they take the colour really well as you can see above.

I wrapped a small piece of white crinkle edge ribbon vertically on the left hand side (face on  on the card) then mounted it onto black, white then again black card to get some nice border interest going.

In my stash I have some little chippie frames, fronts and backs but here I just used a front as I wanted the stamping and the sparkle to show through the frame, I spritzed it to start with a couple of layers, drying in between of Acrylic spray inks. If you want more sparkle you can always use a spray with some Mica in or make one from your perfect pearls or equivalent.

Once dry I took the smallest poinsettia stamp and stamped it tone on tone on the frame to add some texture to it and rubbed a little rusty hinge and Chipped Sapphire around the edges too I also took a white paint marker and shook it up so the colour is loose in the nib, I then shook it at the frame to get a few splats, of course you could always use the Ink splat stamp from Visible image if you didn’t want to spill the paint on the frame as above. I also added a few planned dots to highlight a few curves on the frame too.

Once I completed my frame I used a wet glue to adhere it well to the glittered background. I stamped out my Merry Christmas and a happy new year stamp on white card and cut out just merry Christmas and cut the ends into a little pointy end I also inked the edged again with Chipped sapphire ink, I added it with a bowed centre to the top of the frame which I placed at a jaunty angle earlier.

Here you can see a cose up of the frame and also the sentiment you can also see all the glitter making this piece so very sparkly.

So next I stamped and cut out by hand some leaves with the larger of the two in the Poinsettia set. I also stamped out several of the Poinsettias and cut them out too. Run some ink of your choice round the white edges and some sparkle or gold gilding. You can assemble your Poinsettia any way you like it but traditionally if you roll the petal around a paintbrush longways with the veins around the handle of the paintbrush then offset the petals in diminishing size of Poinsettia petal section you will get an elegant pointy Poinsettia haha.

I added one of those to my frame with a couple of leaves, then tied a bow with some of the matching white crinkle edge ribbon. Now usually I take two lengths of ribbon and tie a bunny ear bow and  make it into a typical  ‘chocolate box bow’ as it were but today i took the ribbon and layered it into a nice bow looking shape then wrapped a piece of the wire the three little flowers I used were attached too to hold it securely. then attached it to the card and added my flowers to the knot area to cover the wire.

I think it looks really pretty with two of the leaves cut in half and added under the flowers , I also used a tiny acrylic orange flower with a pearl in the centre to finish off this arrangement and used one in the centre of the main flower too.

Here again is the finished card.

I love that you can see the background stamping and colours through the ribbon and the glitter so you get lovely different textures throughout the card. It certainly is very tactile this one.

Some different views…

Ok so the gorgeous stamps I used on this one were…

Snowflakes on Sunday @ Visible Image Stamps

Hello! Thank you for coming to see us here on the Visible Image stamps blog today.

Sunday’s inspiration comes from the wonderful Kim Robertson today. Over to Kim…

Hello my lovelies

I thought I’d use my gorgeous Enchanting Snowflakes stamps from Visible Image this week and teamed them
with the classically timeless Christmas & New Year sentiment, keeping it pretty and fairly simple with
mica powders and embossing. I hope you like it…

Visible Image stamps - Enchanting Snowflakes - Merry Christmas & Happy New Year - Kim Robertson

I used two different tonal purples here in cardstock and used ivory embossing powder rather than
white to blend in the the ivory paper. I stamped out the smaller snowflake around the backing edge
of the frame piece of card with Versamark and used an interference colour Mica which looks silver
in certain lights and a bluey/lilac in other, very pretty. I also used the same mica on the edges of the flowers too.

Here is a closer look and you can now see the backing a little better and the lilac on the mica more.
I love purple and ivory or cream , I used those colours for my daughters bedroom and she still loves it.
I have never really been a Christmas red and green colour person but to me this is just gorgeous
in these colours, and the snowflakes are so crisp but still have that vintage feel to them. Gorgeous!

Here is a close up on the first little cluster with the bow and you can see the stem I cut off the little flowers
I twisted around a pokey tool to create a little curly q to add to the flower, and some other little stamens
just to make it a little more interesting.

I snapped this little corner so you can see the mica on the stamps in the backing here. Sooo pretty and sparkly in real life.
The cameras just never seem to pick up sparkle well unless it full on bling.

This was the 2nd little bunch in the top right of the card, you can also see the two colours in the card used on the layers in this one a little better.

Finally here is the longer shot to show the layers etc. I hope you like this one, the font is so clear and sharp to stamp with.
Aren’t the snowflakes pretty , I can also imagine them used with all the gorgeous colours of metal flakes out there now.

Lots and lots of love to all
Hugs

Stunning Poinsettia Stamp Set by Visible Image

Hello and thank you so much for coming to visit us today here on the Visible Image Stamps blog.

We flew home from Majorca in the early hours of this morning, we had a wonderful week in the sunshine and beautiful surroundings. Excited to be home though, as today we release our NEW Poinsettia Set!

Design Team member  Hazel Eaton asked Mark to design this set, as she was longing for a tattered poinsettia with a script that she could create beautiful things with…

So of course we agreed as it was a brilliant idea!

Hazel of course had to be the first to get her hands on it and we think you will agree that she has created some absolutely stunning inspiration…
