Music Soothes The Soul

Hello! Thank you for coming to check out today’s post.

Elina Str√∂mberg is here with some awesome music themed inspiration…

Artist trading cards (ATC) provide the perfect size for a miniature collage. One could think that creating a small ATC would take much less time than making a standard sized card, but often that’s not the case for me. When there isn’t too much space to play around I tend to spend more time on the card design and on selecting just the right elements for my project; the card must not get too busy but then again it should not be too simplified, empty nor boring.

When I have collected the elements for my collage project I may realize that I’m not able fit all the planned fun things on a single ATC. The solution is to create a series of ATC’s, in which the cards are connected to the ATC set by a common theme, technique and/or colour palette.

When creating these musical ATC’s I first stamped and heat embossed the B&W main images. The images were too big to fit on one or even two cards so I made three backgrounds with Distress paints. I decorated the backgrounds with white acrylic paint dots and stamped music patterns, and before gluing down the main images I attached the colourful backgrounds on white ATC card bases (size 2,5″x3,5″).

I really like my ATC trio! The cards are similar but yet unique ūüôā

Egalite & Liberte ATCs – Visible Image stamps

Hi There! We’ re back with more amazing inspiration for you this evening.

Here’s Susanne Rose with some totally awesome ATCs…

It’s my day today to give you some¬†Visible Image¬†Inspiration. I used Visible Image Stamps¬†Revolution¬†set to create these two Artist Trading Cards.¬†

2015-04-07 Visible Image stamps - Revolution - Inky Horses - Liberte - Susanne Rose

I used some embossing techniques on this card. The background is embossed with white embossing powder and then colored with Distress Inks (Crushed Olive, Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans). I embossed the ornament with sticky embossing powder and added some Gilding Flakes. It’s finially colored with Black Soot Distress Ink.

I used the ghosting technique on the second card by spraying water through a stencil (Dot Fade by Tim Holtz) onto the Background which was colored with Distress Ink (Crushed Olive, Peacock Feathers and Faded Jeans). I used the same colors to stamp some interest on my background. The horse is stamped with Archival Ink.

Stamp Set from Visible Image:

Amazing! Those¬†colours are stunning and the silver embossed Fleur De Lys stamp looks superb. You’ll find more of Susanne’s awesome work over on her blog.

This set has been one of our top selling stamp sets… have you got it yet?

We’ll be back tomorrow with a double dose of Sunday¬†inspiration for you.

Thanks for visiting us here on the Visible Image blog today ūüôā

Rustic ATC – Visible Image stamps

Hey There! We are back with our second inspirational project today.

This time it’s over to Zoey Emanuela Scarpelli…

Hello Crafters!

For today’s ATC I used again the amazing stamps from¬†Visible Image.¬†If after these months you haven’t check them out yet, you definitely should!!

They have amazing stamps and the quality is outstanding. They have a variety selections of stamps, even if I use mostly grunge stamps or mixed media stamps, they have a wide selection of stamps set with different themes for everyone!

I also used products from ColourArte , I love the fact that depending on what side you look at the ATC , it assumes different colors!

For this ATC i used these stamps :

–¬†Colours of the wind

I cut a piece of card stock in an ATC size and I covered it with gesso. Then I also added some piece of cardstock here and there to add some texture and then I covered again with gesso.

I stamped the background with the amazing leaf stamp. I LOVE this stamp also because the “veins” of the leaf resemble a tree shape! I just LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

After I stamped the background, I started adding color. Over and over. I used autumns color even if we are almost near spring time, but today here in Bologna is really cold and I needed some warm!

The sentiment is stamped over another piece of paper. I added color over the paper, using the same color scheme of the background. I also added some texture by using crackle paint. I let it dry and as soon as the crackle appeared I added some black ink to accentuate the crackle.

Since I used the same color for both sentiment and background I added a small piece of twine and I shaped it into a circle shape.

And here’s the completed ATC…

Just The Way You Are – Visible Image

Good Morning! Wow you are love love loving our NEW stamps ūüôā So happy!

If you haven’t see them yet you will find them HERE!

Today we have fabulous inspiration from Zoey, who hasn’t got her hands on the new stamps yet but she will soon and we can’t wait to see what she makes!

Over to Zoey…

Hello Crafters!

Here we are again at Saturday and as every Saturday here’s my ATC of the day! For this ATC I used colors that I am not really keen about — I choose them to challange myself a bit, I like to do this from time to time.

I used stamps from¬†Visible Image….
I suggest you to check out their site, they are UK based and they have high quality stamp. Recently they came out with their new release that you can check it out by clicking here!
I love them all and I can’t wait to play with them!

The stamps I have used for this ATC are:

 Ripped Fishnet
–¬†Sunshine Set

I started off by adding IZINK color to a pre cut card stock , I used yellow and shocking pink!
I added color without caring if the two color were mixing, and actually I was hoping for that to happen! I wanted to see a gorgeous orange in between… I didn’t achieve that result quiete much , but I loved the result nonetheless!I used archival ink and the¬†Ripped Fishnet¬†stamp to add texture on the corner of my ATC to not leave a plain backgroundI also added texture paste through Kasia Kryzminska’s stencil from TCW.When the texture paste was dry, I stamped my sentiment – always using archival ink, the same sentiment (that you find in the¬†Sunshine Set) I stamped it over another card stock I had in my stash. From this, I cut off the heart and the “you are” ¬†part that I then added to the background with foam adhesive. The last step was to cut some twine and randomly glue it to the back of the ATC before gluing everything to a recycled cardboard. And here’s the finished ATC :

Mixed Media Dragonfly – Visible Image stamps

Good Evening! We are back with an awesome tutorial by Zoey Emanuela Scarpelli…

Hello Crafters!

For today’s ATC I was inspired by the super talented artist that you all know for sure:¬†Finnabair¬†.

I love her style and the way she creates and after taking part of one of her workshop I wanted to try to use her technique in my works.

And today I used stamps by¬†Visible Image….

The stamps I used for this ATC are:

–¬†Grunge Polka Dot

For my base I used Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays that I love. They are awesome and they perfectly blend with eachothers.
I then stamped part of the background with¬†Grunge Polka Dot¬†and archival ink. As always I didin’t use the acrylic block since I was not looking for a perfect background.

I kept adding dimensions and colors to the background and then I added through a stencil the modeling paste.

While everything was drying I stamped this wonderful Dragonfly over a white cardstock, also with archival ink.

I then colored the stamped image with Primary Elements.

And here are the photo of the final project.

As you notice, you can clearly see I was inspired by Anja, I still hope I was able to put in a bit of my style… eheh ūüėČ

Every Day is a Second Chance @ Visible Image stamps

Hello and thank you for coming to visit our blog today!

After a very well deserved break, our Design team are back!!! ¬†Today we have TWO new inspirational posts for you. Kicking off the New Year in style we have the very first Visible Image stamps ¬†post from our NEW DT member Zoey…

Hello Crafters,

First and foremost, I want to wish you all a really Happy New Year!! I am so eager to kick off the year with a new project for you.

This time I created an ATC card using stamps from Visible Image.

To those who do not know Visible Image yet (where have you been living!?!? LOL JK), they are a really sweet and talented company from UK that supply a variety of really good quality stamps.

The stamps I have used for this ATC are :

–¬†Make me smile set
–¬†Crackled Background
–¬†Bronte Script

To create the backround, I simply added few strips of washi tape onto the cardstock cut into an ATC size — then I covered it up with a generous amount of gesso. I let it dry and then added Gelatos.¬†When everything was dry, it was time to stamp!!¬†I took the¬†Bronte Script¬†and without using the acrylic block I stamped here and here, I did the same thing with the¬†Crackled Background¬†— but using a third generation stamp because I wanted to create a soft look. I stamped my sentiment covering the part where it said “second chance” and stamped it into the background using Stampers Big Brush by Faber Castell.

Visible Image stamps - Mixed Media ATC Zoey - Every Day is a second chance - butterfly

The “Second Chance” was stamped on a separate piece of white cardboard because I wanted to add dimension to the sentiment.

I stamped the Butterfly on a separate cardboard too, colored it using Gelatos again and I fussy cut it.

Before adhering everything, I added some more texture using a stencil and Whipped Spackle by Design Memory Craft. Then, when everything was completely dry, I glued every piece together.

To add even more texture I decided I wanted to glue the ATC over a piece of recycled cardboard that I covered up with a bit of gesso to make everything connect.
