Toadstools Stamps | Nature Heals | Card

Hello! Have you checked out our new stamps yet? Do you have a favourite? One of Jane’s absolute favourites from this release is our TOTALLY TOADSTOOLS stamps, and we adore the very first card Jane created with these fabulous stamps… and nature heals sentiment

Good Afternoon, today I could not be more excited as I am able to share my first make with the brand new autumn release! OMGoodness you are going to love them. They are so “me” and there is something for everyone from cute hedgehogs (or hedgepigs as I have always called them!) a squirrel with acorns to positive and inspiring words to toadstools, mini stamps and most exciting a backing stamp for Artist Trading Cards! Wow!

I have made samples with the all the new release and it was a really tough call for me to choose just 1 for today, but choose I had to and I went with one of the 3 new nature sets.

Totally Toadstools

Totally Toadstools Stamps Set | Nature Heals | Mushrooms | Fungi | Grasses

I have a real “thing” about all things fungi (plus mermaids, strawberries, hedgehogs, pigs, seashells and the Man in the Moon, yes I know I am mad!) and I have wanted Mark, aka Mr Visible Image to design a fungi set for a long time. I was so delighted to see it come to life and it really is everything I love about toadstools. The beautiful nature sentiment works perfectly too.

This is what I got up to

I wanted to make a really organic, fungi inspired background. There is nothing better for this than Yupo paper and alcohol inks, so that’s what I did. I got out my inks and dripped…

and dropped…

and mixed…

and blended until I had achieved the organic fungi inspired background I wanted…

I stamped lots of the toadstools onto different offcuts of inked card and cut them out. Then I chose the ones I wanted to use.

I added some white gel pen and then decoupaged them (which you will see in the finished photos)

I decided I wanted more of a 3D card so I cut out the centre of my Yupo paper

and backed it with another piece of yellow inked card. I stamped some of the foliage inside. I then added some 3D foam tape and stuck it under the Yupo.

I also cut an upstand from inky card and repeat stamped some more of the foliage, cutting around some and also cutting one piece out to layer up with and to add depth.

I then assembled my focal, adding the toadstools, which I decoupaged.

finally adding the wonderful ‘nature heals’ sentiment at the base of the toadstool stamps.

I stuck the focal in place and matted and layered my card.

Here it is…

with a close up…

and 1 final shot…

I really do adore this set and I have so many plans for future makes using it too. It really is a must have in your crafting stash and works so well with the new hedgehog and squirrel sets too.

It would be lovely to see you over in the friendly Visible Image Facebook group! You will see lots of gorgeous makes by the Design Team and customers to inspire your own creativity. NEW Rise and Shine Stamp Set

Hi! We hope you are doing ok and staying safe. It’s been crazy here leading up to the release of our NEW stamps tomorrow, so apologies for neglecting our blog. We are back to resume sharing the amazing Design Team inspiration though! Lots coming up over the coming days. Jane Tyrrell is here today with a stunning card featuring our RISE AND SHINE stamp set which includes the fabulous sunshine stamp and inspiring sentiment…

I am delighted to share my first make with one of the brand new stamp sets.

I found it hard to choose which of my samples I have made to share first. I thought we could all do with some sunshine as here in England as we are in a month long lockdown again and decided my sample made with this set was perfect.

Meet the fabulous Rise and Shine Stamp Set. I adore anthropomorphic imagery.

(To give you a heads up there is a wonderful Man in the Moon in their new Midnight Sky set too.I have wanted Mark, aka Mr Visible Image to design a Man in the moon stamp for years and I am thrilled he has. My next sample I share in 2 weeks will be using that set).

So back to the sun. It was certainly shining last week as I took my daily walks. The colours of autumn this year are quite breathtaking and a little sunshine added in just makes my heart sing.

I also have a ceramic sun which sits on the wall of my studio. I bought this on holiday in Sicily and I really do treasure it.

Here is a close up

So fired up with these colours and ideas I grabbed some Yupo paper and made a sunshine packed background using alcohol inks.  I just dripped the inks onto the paper and used a blower to move the inks around.

I used all the hot yellows, oranges and a little flamingo ink.
I then turned the background sideways. I stamped the large sunshine and 2 small onto some yellow inky mop up card and cut them out.

I added some of my favourite distress colour, crackling campfire to the rays to add some colour and interest to the yellow.

The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of card which I then cut into a cloud shape. I also cut 2 more cloud shapes out of white card.

I then put my design together.

Here it is..

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope my sunny card brought a ray of sunshine into your day.
Stay safe.

Bye for now,

Jane x

Moth Stamp On Fishnet Stencil

Hello and Happy Friday to you! Today’s inspiration comes from stempelfrida who has made a fantastic mixed media card featuring our moth stamp and ripped fishnet stencil, with some elements from our ‘Somewhere in Time’ stamp set…

You cannot turn back the clock and change the past. That’s the way it is, and I think it’s also pointless to think about “what would have happened if…” because who knows if things would have turned out differently again.

With this attitude I managed my life well so far. It has helped me a lot to take decisions. In this moment, in this situation, with this mood and at this point in time you made your decision. And that is good. Fate contributes its part.  This situation will never come back. It is about standing by your decision and moving on. Do not look back, but enjoy the moment and look ahead. If it is intended differently for you, something will happen to you again, someone will meet you, something will happen…

moth stamp | fishnet stencil | handmade card | alcohol inks

For this collage I used a special technique to transfer an alcohol ink background from Yupo paper to normal paper. You use Alcohol Lift Ink Reinker. From this you put some drops on the background, spread them with a brayer, put a paper over it and smooth it with your hand.

The wonderful thing is that you can stamp and emboss on the “normal paper” this way. On the three photos you can see it well:

1. alcohol ink background on Yupo paper

2. transfer on normal paper

3. stamped background

On the background I applied colorless embossing paste through the ripped fishnet stencil. When it was firm in consistency but not yet completely dry, I applied Perfect Pearls in gold. So you can see through the structure, but it has a nice golden shimmer.

I also added Nuvo Drop pearls.

I stamped the moth with Ink on 3 and fussy cut it. I then coloured it with Copics. I shaped it and glued it to the background with distance pads.

I rounded off the corners of my card and the base and knotted some bast around the text.
