Watch The Waves

This awesome card by Gill was created with our RIDE THE WAVES stamp set, shells from our AT THE BEACH set, and small footprints from our SANDY FEET stencil.

[Tutorial] Gill started by painting a panel of card with blue paint and left to dry. Next Gill took a piece of white card and blended fossilized amber distress ink though the stencil to create the footprints along one side, then drew a wavy doodled border with a gold pen all around the edge. The next step was to make a polaroid shaped template from more white card stock. To create her ocean, Gill stamped the waves stamp in Versamark embossing ink onto the previously painted blue card, added white embossing powder and heat set to create the realistic waves. This panel was trimmed down and ahered inside the polaroid frame. The surfer and boats were stamped along the edge of the frame before Gill adhered this to her background at an angle. Gill stamped the sentiment, cut out and edged with gold pen to co-ordinate, then stamped the birds and splattered blue ink over her card to add more texture and interest. To finish, Gill added some blue twine and shells to add to the wonderful beachy feel.
