Vintage Christmas Santa

Jane’s fantastic card was created with our VINTAGE SANTA and DISTRESSED CHRISTMAS stamp sets.

[Tutorial] Stamp the large Santa in black near the top of a white heavyweight card panel. Place a mask over the image and, using a blending tool and a circular motion blend green distress inks [pine needles & evergreen bough] over the card. Spritz with a little water then lay a sheet of kitchen roll over the background and pat dry. This will remove some of the ink and leave a “snowy” background. Remove the mask. Using a damp paintbrush pull some of the ink from the circle in and around the image of Santa. If you need more colour just press the green ink pads onto your acrylic block and pick up with the damp paintbrush. Leave to dry.

Colour Santa’s hat and face with markers. Add a little grey colour to the beard where the shadows would fall. Repeat stamp the numbers from the Distressed Christmas set over the background using barn door ink. Then with the script stamp from the set in your hand add some evergreen bough ink and stamp parts of it over the card front. Don’t try to stamp the whole script, keep it bitty as this adds to the overall vintage effect. Add gold and diamond details to the hat and beard using Stickles glitter glue and leave to dry.

Gold heat emboss the sentiment onto a strip of red card. Cut a piece of gold card slightly bigger. Distress all the edges with a distressing tool or the edge of your scissors. Adhere the red and gold card together and then fix in place using foam pads. Matt the finished background onto red then gold card and adhere to the card blank.  Add 2 tiny bows of red ribbon and glossy accents to some of the circles in the number stamps as a finishing touch. Jane ♡
