Summer Blooms

Rachel’s gorgeous card was created with our BEE HAPPY and DAISY GRUNGE stamp sets, our HONEYCOMB HEX stencil, and BROKEN MESH layering die.

[Tutorial] To begin with Rachel sprayed 1 piece of white card with ‘Kitsch Flamingo’, ‘Saltwater Taffy’ and ‘Squeezed Lemonade’ distress spray stain. The card background was enhanced by blending ‘Saltwater Taffy’ distress ink around the edges. Next Rachel stamped the honeycomb element from the ‘Bee Happy’ stamp set into each corner of the background with a Versamark embossing pad, before heat embossing with Wow white opaque superfine embossing powder. The stencil image was added next by lightly sponging Paperartsy ‘Snowflake’ fresco paint through the stencil.

All the bee stamps were then stamped on another piece of white card with Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ and embossed with Wow embossing clear superfine powder. These were then coloured in using Stabilo aqua colour pencils and a water pen and fussy cut out. The card wouldn’t be complete without the big daisy stamp from the ‘Daisy Grunge’ set. This was stamped, embossed and coloured in using ‘Salvaged Patina’ distress ink. Next, the ‘Broken Mesh’ die was cut from white card and Rachel then cut out a few hexagons. These were then blended with ‘Saltwater Taffy’ distress ink.

For the sentiment Rachel chose ‘Smile’ from the ‘Daisy Grunge’ set and stamped this onto black card with a Versamark embossing pad, and embossed this with Wow white opaque embossing powder.

To finish the card all the elements were layered onto black card and a white card blank and stuck into position using 3D foam pads or acrylic glue. Finally, black Ranger Enamel accents were used to highlight pollen aspects on the card.
