Summer Birthday

Rachel’s beautiful card was created with our ANTISOCIAL BUTTERFLY stamp set and co-ordinating dies, HEART INK stencil and a sentiment from our BIRTHDAY WISHES set.

[Tutorial] For this make I’ve teamed the ‘Antisocial Butterfly’ stamp set and co-ordinating dies with a sentiment from the ‘Birthday Wishes’ set and ‘Heart INK’ stencil. 

To begin with I took a white piece of card and sprayed it with ‘Twisted Citron’, ‘Squeezed Lemonade’ and ‘Tumbled Glass’ distress spray stains. Some ‘Twisted Citron’ distress ink was then used around the edge of the card. Next, the stencil was added over the top of the background and ‘Salvaged Patina’ distress ink brushed through it. I then stamped the main butterfly image into the centre of the background with Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed it with Wow superfine clear gloss superfine embossing powder. The sentiment from the ‘Birthday Wishes’ set was then added to the background.

On a separate piece of card I stamped all the images from the ‘Antisocial Butterfly’ set using the same Versafine ink and heat embossed in the same way before die cutting them all out. They were then coloured in using Zig brush pens and a wink of stella pen.

All the elements were then added to the card background with 3D mounts and acrylic glue. Finally, the background was layered onto black card and a white card blank before a few sparkly gems were added. A bright and colourful card idea for any of those summer birthdays! Rachel ♡
