Statement Butterfly

This wonderful card by Leanne was created with our BUTTERFLY EFFECT stamp set and FRAMED FIBRES layering die.

[Tutorial] Leanne started by creating her delicate background with Distress Inks [speckled egg, antique linen & saltwater taffy]. The background elements from the Butterfly Effect set were then stamped onto the background using Versafine Clair ink [morning mist]. Some of the circles and the butterflies were painted with distress re-inkers [iced spruce & saltwater taffy] to create some shadow and depth. Next Leanne coloured a separate piece of card by sponging saltwater taffy distress ink onto it, then die cut the Fibres layering die.

The large butterfly was stamped onto an old book page and embossed in black powder, cut out and mounted onto black card with foam pads for support. One of the smaller butterflies was also stamped out, fussy cut and covered with glossy accents for sheen. The sentiments were stamped directly onto the background with Versafine Clair ink [nocturne].

Leanne then snipped up and glued the layering die in place, and adhered the large butterfly with 3d glue to create the raised statement focal image. The smaller butterfly embellishment was also added along with some black enamel dots, before mounting on black and pink card stock.
