Sending Love at Christmas
Ali’s beautiful Christmas card was created with our CHRISTMAS ROBIN stamp set.
[Tutorial] To create this card I started by using a 6×4 inch piece of card. Taking the ‘sending love at Christmas’ sentiment from the Christmas Robin set I stamped this in the middle, near the top, using Black Archival Ink. This card was then placed in a Sizzix faux wood embossing folder and put through my Big Shot. I inked this with ‘Old Paper’ Distress Ink to bring out the wood grain.
Next I took the large robin, and the holly leaves with berries from the Christmas Robin set, inked them with Black Archival Ink and stamped them out. I coloured them using Polychromo pencils. Using a white gel pen I highlighted some of the holly and berries. These were then fussy cut out.
I used an A4 sheet of Kraft card which I scored and folded in half to create the card base. I drew a freehand border around this using a black fine liner pen. Using red and white twine, I wrapped three times around the bottom of the faux wood piece, securing on the back using double sided tape. I cut a piece of 8×3 red card stock and glued this to the left hand side of the card base before placing the faux wood panel over this. I then stuck down the holly leaves to the top right corner and the robin just above the twine to make it look like he had landed there. I stuck a red heart button to the right hand side on top of the twine to finish the card off. Ali ♡
