Sand Between Your Toes

This amazing mixed media canvas by Gill was created with our SANDY FEET stencil and AT THE BEACH stamp set, and our TORN FISHNET layering die.

[Tutorial] For the base of this canvas Gill used sand texture paste through the large Sandy Feet part of the stencil, and then again through the sentiment and left it to dry naturally. Next Gill added some Cadence artsy stones for texture around the edges, and covered the whole canvas in sand coloured Starlight metallic paint, to achieve the gorgeous shimmer of sand on a sunny day. Whilst this was drying, Gill stamped, embossed, coloured and fussy cut the shells from our At The Beach stamp set.

Next Gill die cut the fabulous Torn Fishnet die from a piece of card which had been coloured with sky blue starlight paint, and cut it into pieces. The canvas was also edged in sky blue paint. Gill then arranged the placement of the shells, and pieces of fishnet for texture, and adhered them with a clear gel medium. Next Gill placed the stencil back over the sentiment and highlighted the letters using a white Posca pen. To finish, Gill used vintage photo distress ink around the feet to add depth, and added some splatters with the same ink, and then some further splatters with white paint.
