Proud Friend

Rachel’s beautiful card was created with our new FOREVER IN YOUR HEART feather stamp set, co-ordinating feather die, and a sentiment from our LOOK FORWARD WITH HOPE stamp set, background stamps and our BUBBLES & FIZZ stencil. 

[Tutorial] Some days you just need to make a ‘thinking of you’ card. I love the versatility of the new ‘Forever in Your Heart’ stamp and die set from Visible Image for such occasions. For this make I’ve also used the ‘Grunge Tones’, ‘Mesh-ellaneous’ and ‘Look Forward with Hope’ stamp sets and the ‘Bubbles & Fizz’ stencil.

To begin with I created a bright and colourful background using ‘Peacock Feathers’, ‘Picked Raspberry’ and ‘Squeezed Lemonade’ distress oxides. I added these to a craft mat before spritzing with water then ‘smooshing’ a piece of white card into it. This was then dried with a heat gun and any white space was blended with the corresponding distress inks.  

Next, the ‘Grunge Tones’ and ‘Mesh-ellaneous’ stamps were stamped onto the background in random places using ‘Charming Pink’, ‘Warm Breeze’ and ‘Cheerful’ Versafine Clair inks (2nd generation). ‘Black Soot’ distress ink was then blended through the small bubbles of the ‘Bubbles and Fizz’ stencil whilst Paperartsy ‘Snowflake’ white fresco paint was added through the larger bubbles onto the background. 

The main feather stamp from the ‘Forever in Your Heart’ stamp set was then stamped onto the background with Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder before being die cut out. The die cut feather and 2 white feathers were then added to white and black card with 3D glue before being mounted onto a DL sized card. 

Finally, the sentiments from the ‘Forever in Your Heart’ and ‘Look Forward with Hope’ sets were stamped using the same ink onto the card and a few sparkly gems added. I love the clean and simple feel of this card with its perfect message for any friend going through a hard time. Rachel ♡
