Off The Grid
Rachel’s fantastic card was created with the retro telephone stamp and sentiment from our CALL ME MAYBE stamp set and our OFF THE GRID stencil.
[Tutorial] When was the last time you caught up with a friend or loved one over the telephone? I adore this new retro phone stamp set from Visible Image. I can just about remember using one of these growing up! For my make I’ve teamed up this wonderful ‘Call Me Maybe’ stamp set with the equally brilliant ‘Off the Grid’ stencil.
I began this card by spraying a piece of white card with ‘Shaded Lilac’ and ‘Wilted Violet’ distress oxide spray. Once dried, I spritzed the background with water and then dipped the card into watered down ‘Wilted Violet’ distress ink. I love the way the two products blend together. After drying with a heat gun I then blended ‘Wilted Violet’ distress ink through the ‘Off the Grid’ stencil in various places on the background. I then highlighted some elements with a white coloured pencil and white gel pen.
On a separate piece of white card I then stamped all the elements from the ‘Call Me Maybe’ stamp set using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed them with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. The phone was then coloured in using ‘Twisted Citron’ and ‘Picked Raspberry’ distress water colour pencils and fussy cut out. I then added some Ranger glossy accents to the telephone before edging the sentiment with ‘Wilted Violet’ distress ink and mounting the sentiment on some black card.
Finally, the background was put onto black card and a white card blank before all the elements were added using 3D mounts. I love how this card turned out and hope you do too. It’s just perfect for saying that ‘hello’ to a friend! Rachel ♡
