Mixed Media Postcards

Gill’s fantastic mixed media postcards have so much wonderful texture and layers. Created with our TRANSMISSION GLITCH background stamps and SEEING STARS stencil, with our TOTALLY TOADSTOOLS and positive AFFIRMATIONS.

[Tutorial] To make these mixed media postcards, I started by creating a master board with Arteza paints in blue and beige, and kept adding layers of paper scraps and more paint splatters. While this was drying, I stamped the Toadstools and coloured them in with Castle art crayons, then die cut them with the co-ordinating dies. I also stamped out my chosen positive affirmations from the Affirmations stamp set onto white card. When the master board was dry, I used the Transmission Glitch stamps with paint to add some great texture, then I used the small squares section of the Seeing Stars stencil. I used gel medium to adhere my toadstools, and then cut the master board into four postcards. Next, for the finishing touches, I edged the postcards in black using a Chinacraft black pencil, and added some more splatters in dark blue and white. I then adhered the Affirmations, and added some shadow around them to give dimension. Gill ♡
