Mixed Media Christmas
Michelle’s awesome Christmas card was created with our VINTAGE SANTA stamps and dies, GRUNGE CHRISTMAS WORDS background stamps and YE OLDE CHRISTMAS stencil.
[Tutorial] I stamped the ‘Grunge Christmas Words’ background using Versamark ink and heat embossed with Wow Superfine embossing powder (white). Next, I randomly sprinkled Luscious Powders (sparkling waterfall) spritzed over with water, moving around the surface a little, then dried. I repeated this a couple of times to give a layered appearance. I roughed up the edge of the card with scissors, spritzed a little more luscious powder on my mat and dipped all around the edge of my card to give a border.
For the next layer I used the ‘Ye Olde Christmas’ stencil with gold glitter paste, left it to dry and then very lightly rubbed a teeny bit of rose gold wax over the vellum to give a slight shadowing. I then checked for positioning on my background and tore a diagonal strip, I attached it using red liner tape in the middle as I knew that my Santa would be covering that area.
I stamped the holly from the ‘Christmas Robin’ set in Versafine ink (morning mist), clear embossed it and then die cut it out, colouring with alcohol pens. I added some Wow clear embossing ink and an embossing glaze to add a shine.
Santa was also stamped in Versafine (morning mist) and clear embossed, then I coloured his hat, face and beard with alcohol pens. I added a few touches of a quickie glue pen to the edge of his hat and added some white flower soft and glitter.
The sentiment from the ‘Vintage Santa’ stamp set was stamped in Versafine (twilight) and embossed with Ranger embossing powder (navy). The sentiment, Santa and holly were all attached with a glue gel and I added a little sisal behind the holly die-cut for added dimension and texture. Michelle ♡
