March into Spring

Rachel created this beautiful Spring wall art with our HAPPY BUNNY, DAISY GRUNGE and HAPPINESS MATTERS stamp sets and FLOWER INK stencil.

[Tutorial] Spring is definitely marching forward with so many things coming back to life after the winter break. I’ve created a bright and colourful piece of wall art using the new ‘Happy Bunny’, ‘Happiness Matters’ and ‘Flower Ink’ stencil alongside the ‘Daisy Grunge’ stamp set.

First up I sprayed a piece of white card with ‘Tumbled Glass’ and ‘Twisted Citron’ distress spray stain. Once dried, I blended the same colour of distress inks around the edges of the card. The ‘Flower Ink’ stencil and mask was then placed over the top of the background and distress grit paste smoothed through it. Once dried the hearts and flower images from the ‘Happiness Matters’ and ‘Happy Bunny’ stamp set were stamped onto the background with ‘Verdant’ and ‘Cool Breeze’ Versafine Clair inks.

On a separate piece of card the flower from the ‘Daisy Grunge’ stamp set was stamped with Versamark and then embossed with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder. This was fussy cut out and ‘Mustard Seed’ ink blended around the edge. An orange watercolour pencil was then used to emphasise the centre of the flower and the petal edges. The sentiment from the ‘Happiness Matters’ set was then stamped over the top with Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed using Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. Some archival black ink was then used to smarten up the word edges.

The small bunnies from the ‘Happy Bunny’ stamp set were then stamped with Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed using Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder before being fussy cut out.

Finally, the background was added to a frame background and glued into position. A little bit of sparkle was added using a wink of stella pen before the elements were added with 3D mounts. The frame was then applied. A really bright and happy piece of wall art to brighten up any room this spring!
