Life Gives You Lemons

Rachel’s fabulous card was created with our KEEP YOUR GIN UP stamp set and co-ordinating dies, and our MESH IT UP stencil.

[Tutorial] When life gives you lemons… add a bit of gin!! I love the ‘Keep Your Gin Up’ stamp set from Visible Image, and now it’s even better as I’ve managed to get my hands on the new die set too. If you are looking for a time-saver from all that fussy cutting then this is it. 

To begin my make I sprayed a piece of white card with the new ‘Lumberjack Plaid’ distress spray stain and blended around the edges with distress ink in the same colour. Once dried I brushed ‘Picket Fence’ distress ink through the ‘Mesh it Up’ stencil before putting the background to one side.

On another piece of white card I stamped the gin bottle, lemon, ice and glass from the ‘Keep Your Gin Up’ stamp set using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed this with Wow clear gloss superfine embossing powder. The elements were then coloured in using a range of colouring pencils before being die cut out using the new dies. 

The sentiment from the gin set was then stamped onto the background with a Versamark embossing pad and heat embossed with Wow opaque bright white superfine embossing powder.

Finally, all the elements were added to the card background using 3D mounts or acrylic glue. The background was then glued to black card, white linen card (edged in black pen) and a white card blank before a few glossy accents were added. A perfect card for when life really does throw you some lemons! I hope you agree. Rachel ♡
