Jubilee Queen
This fabulous card by Rachel was created with our QUEEN OF HEARTS stamps and dies, GRUNGY UNION JACK and BUBBLES & FIZZ stencils, and stamps from our AFTERNOON TEA and ANYONE FOR BUBBLES sets.
[Tutorial] The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations inspired this Birthday card using the ‘Queen of Hearts’ stamp & die set as well as the new ‘Bubbles & Fizz’ stencil. I also used the ‘Anyone for Bubbles’ and ‘Afternoon Tea’ stamps, set against the ‘Grungy Union Jack’ stencil.
To begin with I brushed ‘Villainous Potion’ distress ink through the ‘Grungy Union Jack’ stencil onto a piece of white card. This was then topped with the ‘Bubbles and Fizz’ stencil using ‘Shaded Lilac’ distress oxide. A few splatters of water and Posca white pen where then added to complete the card background.
On another piece of card I stamped one of the sentiments from the ‘Afternoon Tea’ set and some of the elements from each of the stamp sets. A few of these elements were then embossed with Wow clear superfine embossing powder and fussy cut out before colouring in using Stabilo aquacolor watercolours and a water brush. The crown from the Queen of Hearts set was used to add features to the teapot and cup.
For the Queen I stamped this out and die cut it using the Queen of Hearts die. This was also coloured in using the watercolour pencils and some glossy accents added to the outfit and her eyes to make them pop.
To finish the card, the background was layered onto white linen and black card before mounting onto a white card blank. The elements were then stuck into position using 3D foam pads or acrylic glue. Finally, I added Pentart bead paste to the top of the champagne bottle and glossy accents to the cake icing and bubbles in the champagne glasses. A suitable celebratory card for any occasion! Rachel ♡
