Halloween Fun

Lorraine’s fantastic slider card was created with our HAPPY HALLOWEEN stamp set + co-ordinating dies, and our MULTIVERSE stencil.

[Tutorial] Blend purple and green inks onto a 15cm square of card. Tape the stencil in place and add black texture paste with a palette knife. Leave to dry. Wash the stencil and knife immediately in warm soapy water.

Stamp, colour and die-cut the pumpkins, colouring around the edge with a black marker. Use a craft knife to cut the eyes, nose and mouth from the large pumpkin. Die-cut another large pumpkin from black glitter card and adhere behind the large coloured pumpkin.

To make the slider mechanism: cut a piece of card 7cm x 5cm. With the card in landscape orientation, trim into a ‘fat H’ by cutting the centre 6cm x 0.5cm from the top and bottom. Trim a piece of thin carrier bag slightly narrower than the recess, wrap around and adhere to itself using strong adhesive tape. Trim any excess.

Cut 2 pieces of black card 6cm x 6cm. Heat emboss the sentiments using green embossing powder. Write “pull” on the bottom of the ‘Trick’ panel. Place the ‘Happy Halloween’ at the top of one and ‘Trick or Treat’ at the bottom of the other. Round the corners. Add a thin strip of adhesive tape to the bottom of the back of the slider (bag) and attach the bottom of the ‘Happy Halloween’ panel (it will be behind the slider mechanism). Add another strip of adhesive tape to the top of the front of the slider and attach the top of the ‘Trick’ panel to this (this will sit on top of the slider). Add thin strips of foam tape to the sides of the slider and attach to the back of the pumpkin.

Trim the background panel to size and adhere 2 small pumpkins. Add foam tape onto the sides of the slider panel and pumpkin and attach onto the card.

Cut a mat layer 1cm larger than the panel, colour around the edge with an orange marker. Adhere the panel to the mat, then mount on a square black card base. Embellish with purple and green gems.
