Grunge Bookmarks

Nicole’s fantastic bookmarks were created with the grunge heart stamp from our FOLLOW YOUR HEART set, our COUNT ME IN and SHORT CIRCUIT stencils and GRUNGE TONES background stamps.

[Tutorial] To create these bookmarks for some of my new books, I started by cutting water colour card to my desired size and sprayed them with water to get them ready for some colour. Next I used Dina Wakley Media Gloss sprays and squished the card down onto the colours, letting them dry in between each colour layer. Once they were dry, I took two stencils ‘Count Me In’ and ‘Short Circuit’ and blended through them with brown Archival ink. I then stamped randomly using the ‘Grunge Tones’ background stamps for added interest.

I stamped the grunge heart stamp onto my bookmarks in black [half on each bookmark], and stamped it out again on a separate piece of water colour paper, coloured it in red and cut it out, then cut in half, ready to layer it onto my 2 bookmarks. I also stamped out some other elements for my third co-ordinating bookmark and cut them out. I assembled all the elements and adhered with glue, then ink blended around the edges for some definition, and added my ribbon to finish. Nicole ♡
