Golden Honeycomb

Jen’s gorgeous card was created with our BEE HAPPY stamp set and HONEYCOMB HEX stencil.

[Tutorial] Jen dry embossed her background using the honeycomb stencil through her embossing machine, then splattered some distress inks and gold water colour paint over it, before die cutting a circle aperture in the centre. The inner background was created by blending ‘mustard seed’ and ‘wild honey’ distress inks through the stencil, then Jen added some touches of ‘aged mahogany’ distress ink. Next Jen drew along some of the honeycomb edges with a water colour pencil and blended with a paintbrush and some water to create depth. Again Jen spattered her background using distress inks, gold and white paint for texture. The bees and sentiment were stamped and cut out, and Jen coloured the bees with her markers before adhering them in place on her card. A second set of wings were stamped and fussy cut, and raised off the background with foam pads for dimension. Jen then matted onto black card stock to frame the art work.
