Dragonfly Reflections

Rox’s amazing card is full of wonderful texture, created with our DRAGONFLY REFLECTION stamp set and our awesome BROKEN MESH layering die, with a sentiment from our THE WORLD NEEDS ART stamp set.

[Tutorial] The gorgeous background was created using dark brown Brusho powder paints, and the dragonfly was stamped and embossed directly onto the background with Versafine black ink, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder to give a lovely sheen. A second dragonfly was stamped and embossed onto a vintage book page, and the extra wings from the set were also stamped again. Rox fussy cut all these elements to layer up over the background image. Next Rox die cut the Broken Mesh using metallic card, cut into pieces and added to the border in 5 different sized and shaped pieces. Rox gently flicked Lindy’s ‘moon shadow’ mist over the background, and also onto the gold metallic mesh to create a grungy distressed appearance and a little gold shimmer. Rox then mounted the background onto a black card stock, then layered and machine stitched onto a gold metallic card base. The finishing touch was a few black gems down the dragonfly’s body.
