Christmas Hedgehugs

This beautiful Christmas card by Rachel was created with our HEDGEHOG HUGS stamp set and co-ordinating dies, tiny snowflakes from our LET IT SNOW set, and the ‘Thinking of You at Christmas’ sentiment from our SENTIMENTAL CHRISTMAS stamp set.

[Tutorial] For this make, I’ve teamed up the new ‘Hedgehog Hugs’ die set alongside the original stamp set. I also used the ‘Let it Snow’ and ‘Sentimental Christmas’ stamps. The new die set really does take the hassle out of all that fussy cutting.

To begin with I placed ‘Prize Ribbon’ and ‘Chipped Sapphire’ distress ink onto a craft mat and spritzed with water. I then dipped a square piece of white card into the ink ensuring the card was covered. The ink was then dried using a heat gun. I then chose the smallest snowflakes from the ‘Let it Snow’ stamp set and stamped these over the background using clear Versamark embossing ink. The snowflakes were then heat embossed using Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder.

On another piece of white card I stamped the leaves and larger hedgehog from the ‘Hedgehog Hugs’ stamp set using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed this with Wow clear gloss superfine embossing powder. The hedgehog was then coloured in using a range of brown colouring pencils. The sentiment from the same set and one from the ‘Sentimental Christmas’ set were then stamped onto black card using the same ink and embossed. The sentiments were also mounted onto white linen card (edged in black pen).

Finally, all the elements were added to the card background using 3D mounts or acrylic glue. The background was then glued to black card, white linen card (edged in black pen) and a white card blank. It seems quite perfect to be sending out hedgehugs this Christmas I hope you agree? Rachel ♡
