Butterfly Grunge
Beautiful card by Rachel featuring butterflies from our WINGS OF CHANGE stamp set, our DISTRESSED BRICK stencil, and one of our lovely affirmations stamps.
[Tutorial] Girly grunge! That’s the best way I can describe how I’ve used this brilliant new Distressed Brick stencil from Visible Image! This is the first time I’ve used grit paste, so I was quite intrigued how this was going to work through the stencil. So far so good! It worked a treat on some stamping card and you can really see the crisp stencil outline. I experimented by spraying ‘Dried Marigold’ and ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ Distress spray stain over the image. It took really well so I’ll definitely try that again. Once dried the edges were blended with ‘Picked Raspberry’ distress ink. On another piece of card and some craft vellum I stamped a few of the butterfly images from the ‘Wings of Change’ stamp set using ‘Rose Madder archival ink’. These were fussy cut out before adding ‘Dried Marigold’ and ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ distress ink over some of the wings. Before adding the final details, the card was mounted onto black and white card. The sentiment from the ‘Affirmations’ stamp set was chosen and embossed onto black card using white opaque embossing powder. All the elements were then layered onto the card using acrylic glue or 3D foam strips.
