Bees on Lavender

Rachel’s beautiful slimline summer card was created with one of the sketched flower stamps from our A FRIEND LIKE YOU set, with our BEE HAPPY stamps and dies.

[Tutorial] I started by taking a white DL piece of card and spraying it with ‘Shaded Lilac’, ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ and ‘Tumbled Glass’ distress spray stain. I then added lots of water over the top to disperse the colour. Once dried, I blended ‘Shaded Lilac’ distress ink around the edges of the card. One of the flowers and stem from the ‘A Friend Like You’ stamp set were then stamped in Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before being heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. Elements from both stamp sets were added to the background using Versafine Clair inks in ‘Charming Pink’, ‘Warm Breeze’ and ‘Purple Delight’ inks. Next, I stamped the honeycomb from the ‘Bee Happy’ set using Versamark and heat embossed with Wow bright white opaque superfine embossing powder. To finish the background I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Clair ‘Purple Delight’ ink.

On another piece of white card I stamped all the bees and the flower before clear embossing (see above) and die cutting/fussy cutting out. These were then coloured in using Zig clean color pens and a white colouring pencil before being glued to the card with 3D mounts.

Finally, the background was layered onto black card and a DL white card blank before sparkly water droplets were added.
