Autumn Art

Rachel’s stunning card features the large maple leaf from our ERIKA’S MAPLE set, with a sentiment from our NO FILTER set.

[Tutorial] To begin with I took it in turns to layer up a number of distress oxide inks on a piece of white card. These colours included ‘Bundled Sage’, ‘Crackling Campfire’, ‘Dried Marigold’, ‘Fossilized Amber’, ‘Rusty Hinge’, ‘Scattered Straw’ and ‘Tea Dye’. This was achieved by adding the colour to a craft mat, spritzing with water, ‘smooshing’ the card into the ink, then drying with a heat gun between each layer. Once this was complete I filled in any white gaps with ‘Bundled Sage’ and ‘Tea Dye’ distress inks. I then splattered some ‘Seedless Preserves’ ink over the surface of the card and spritzed once again with water.

Once dry I stamped 3 of the large maple leaves onto my background using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed with Wow clear gloss superfine embossing powder. These were then fussy cut out and some Distress Micro Glaze rubbed over the surface of the leaves to give them a shine. This also helps to bring out the colours of the oxide inks.

The sentiment from the ‘No Filter’ set was then stamped onto a small piece of white linen card using the same ink and embossing method. This piece of card was then outline with black pen. Another piece of linen card was also cut out and outlined in the same way and added to a DL white card card blank.

Finally, the elements were stuck in position using 3D foam mounts. A clean and simple autumnal card that can be used for any occasion this season I hope you agree? Rachel ♡
